Another great day out and at least the weather was kinder to us this year. Was good to catch up for a quick chat at Wooton checkpoint. Same time, same place next year?! 😉😂
Very well done! Really enjoyed the video. I've cycled the Island a few times and it's the toughest ride I do. I only live about 5 miles away on the mainland. Unfortunately I'm not fit enough yet to this tackle this one, but will hopefully later in the year I'll give it another go. 😃
Cheers Julia! Lovely place to live, we've cycled Lymington sea wall a few times at sunset... so pretty 🌞 good luck when you do cycle the island!👍🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️
It's a good day out on the bike Peter. You should consider riding on the island if you get the chance, challenging but fantastic roads, just ride off the ferry and follow the cycle route signs👌
What a fantastic ride. Great work, Wheelers. We’ve finally had some very nice weather this past weekend in Boise. I rode Fri., Sat. AND Sun. and did 114 miles. Friday was a climbing day, and I did 43 miles with 1566 ft of ascent. I’m up to 12k ft for this year. Sunday, I did 52 miles along the green belt trying to avoid the few flooded parts. Watching your videos (also Michelle’s over on Pembrokeshire Trek, among others) motivates me to keep going out and looking for more places, and hills, to ride. Thank you again for taking us along. 🚴😀
@@WheelersAtLarge The gravel bike is night & day compared to the hardtail XC bike I had been riding. The 10lb weight difference and narrower tires make it much less work to keep it rolling. I'm able to go farther and faster than I did before. I also like the tubeless tires. Before I was afraid to even ride on the shoulder for fear of a puncture. I've already found a couple of goatheads and a few thorns, but the sealant has taken care of things each time.
It is a heck of a ride Mick. If you ever have the opportunity it is good ride and of course nothing to a cyclist from Cornwall 🤣There's road and gravel so we would like to make a proper weekend of it some time.
well done guys - a big day out and the Randonnee - all those hills! I know how Mike felt with all that carb loading before...but the downhills were fun :) glad the worst of the rain held off too- a great day out on the bikes, thanks for capturing it on the vlog
🤣👍 Yes Neil... It's my least favourite type of riding with the constant up and down but there's something about cycling on the Isle of Wight that makes it fun.
Thanks Ken, yes a big day out. Actually it was fun more than hard, the hills are relentless but none of them are too long and the really steep stuff is pretty short. Cheers...
Never expected to appear in one of your ride videos. My bike is very pink lol.
I had a blast. Loved the hills 🙂 .
Was an epic day! Nice to ride with you for a bit too! 🚴🏻♀️👌👍

@@reecedawson6113 There is something a little different (for us) coming up next month... 😀👍
Looks like you had a nice day on our island, you can’t bet a hill or 2.😂
We certainly did Simon, the roads are so good and the people were so courteous! 👌😃 Was a great day out, 🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🥵

Fantastic John, how's the bike working out now you're able to get out a bit more regularly.

Absolutely wonderful video. Loved it!!!!!!
Cheers Andrew, lovely roads on the island making it very enjoyable, if a little hilly for the more manly shaped gentleman👍😆
Love your video. Fun to watch.
Thank you Paul... Glad you enjoyed it 👍
The views... smooth roads... very nice ride :)
It was a great day out! IOW roads are like billiards tables! 👍👍👍🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️

Cheers, it's a great event and the roads are so good. An amazing day on the bikes 👍
Another amazing day out. Must make myself take my road bike next year. 42mm knobbly tyres and off road gears make for hard work
It was a great day out Darren. Cheers for sorting the ferry for us all! 👍🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️🚴🏻♀️
@@julie-wheelersatlarge my pleasure
well done. that looked like quite the effort.
It's a good day on the bike if a little lumpy but we do get a flat ride home to finish. Cheers for commenting 👍
@@WheelersAtLarge I am contemplating flying over there to try that ride and quite enjoyed watching your effort.
Fantastic effort by one and all. Great video guys. 👏💪😊
Cheers Steve... A good workout with a nice flat ride home to recover 😀👍
That was an epic one. I thought you were going to say you’d done four more miles due to zig zagging across the road on climbs 😂 Well done!
🤣👍 Yes Neil... It's my least favourite type of riding with the constant up and down but there's something about cycling on the Isle of Wight that makes it fun.
Is the radonne 100 miles!? Used to be 100km. Now that’s a real challenge! Great effort👍
You are right the randonnee is 100km and we ride to and from the ferry making it around 105 miles 👍 Thanks for commenting
Great job you two! Mike, I am like you, not made for the climbs. Looked like a very nice long ride. You guys always make it look easy.
Thanks Ken, yes a big day out. Actually it was fun more than hard, the hills are relentless but none of them are too long and the really steep stuff is pretty short. Cheers...
If you'd turned right in Ashley, you could have come and had tea and homemade strawberry cream cake at my place 😊
Sounds amazing... 👍 #RideFuel
