Have a 2560p reel I just picked up from a yard sale. Had to get a handle from a different shakespear rod. Screw in type. But this reel is super hard to reel and can't reverse because it just unscrews the handle. Took it apart but didn't see anything out of place. Just a cap on end. Any ideas?
I inherited two Shakespeare USP 1502's which both had nonfunctioning bails. But I think these reels have an extra plastic part, unfortunately. I work on reels all the time and I can't figure out exactly how the mechanism goes back together.
I found an old alpha hanging around my house, its old and looks like a piece of junk. Must have been a spare kids reel. This appears to be of slightly better quality. Only a single bearing. Interesting to see nonetheless. Thanks for the video.

I'm sure this will help someone. Shakespeares are largely overlooked on RUclips.
Hopefully..... that's the goal. Thanks for watching.

reel shakespeare alpha bal bearing is a good reel sr?
What size is that reel? I’m having trouble making sense of the 2560 designation. Looks pretty big for a 2500 size model. Or is it just me? 😊
Lol, you're absolutely right, Steve! It's more like a Penn Battle 6000.

Maybe the bearings.

If it's a missing part, it might be a tough to know what it is or find replacements. I don't believe you can find schematics on these.

Thanks brother! Yes, there were a few iterations of this reel.
