The Coran has'nt been sent down to be recited but to be applied. You need to review your intention. You are not reciting the words of Allah to please the audience but to please Allah alone without partner.

Islam never encourage people to enslave another people, but diminish that practice step by step with its law. As you can see (if you want to) in Islamic history, Bilal finally became a free human being because the Prophet's companion paid for his release. I hope this can answer your concern.

In a majlis in my area wheather small or big majlis, everytime recitation of the holy Quraan, we always provide translations in English up on the slide on the stage so that non-muslim knows the meaning what was read by the reciter. In that a way, they know what the contents of the surah being read. May them reach hidayah everytime hearing the recitations aamiiin🤲
