When I finished school in 1971 this song was played in every bar, and I swear, I heard it very often! But of course not in such an outstanding quality.
Another great remix Pat !!! Recently you told me that you make these remixes with audacity. Now I want to try this too; I am a big fan of Pop Corn songs and almost all of these songs are recorded in mono; Does this require a special technique or is your method secret? I suppose these pieces of work take a lot of time, but this is not a problem for me. I am retired and have plenty of time. Thanks if you give me some tips;
Thanks for the feedback, it's always appreciated. I actually use Steinberg Wavelab 6. I use this because it's what I've always used and I know the program inside out now. However, I'm pretty sure Audacity will do the job just as well. As for the process of creating stereo, you need a backing track. I use a free online AI service vocalremover.org/ to separate the vocals and backing track. Or sometimes on early stereo recordings the vocals are panned to one side, with the backing on the other channel. Or you can use Karaoke tracks (shock, horror!) Some of the uploaders on RUclips turn their noses up at the thought of this, but many of these tracks are superbly recorded, by really good session musicians and they produce surprisingly good results. Then when you have your backing track, you use DCS techniques, cutting and pasting different parts of the backing to different parts of the song. You need to create an audio montage to do this. ruclips.net/video/SM7ft8eN9RI/видео.html It's difficult to give precise details at this point because every remix is different, there is a lot of trial and error involved. You have to get the EQ and levels exactly right. Then there are the VST plugins to consider, especially stereo expander plugins that widen or narrow the stereo. Wavelab has one already included but you may have to search online for one for Audacity. At the end of the day you just have to experiment with the software. Best of luck !
A Classic Country Pop Crossover which was a monster hit in over 16 countries.

Thanks Gerhard. This was recorded in 1969, but the original release was a typical 1960s unbalanced stereo mix.
