I had my miracle at 44. I was told I would never have children. But God knew I was ready and I love every minute. I’m a little more tired than the younger mom’s, but I am also more stable and completely focused on my son. It does change your outlook on what is important, and my son and family are the most important things in my life. I wouldn’t change being an older mom for anything.....

It never has been out of the ordinary. My grandmother who is 98 had a child at 40. I had one at 42. People generations ago did so as well. Advanced Maternal Age is what doctors call women over age 35.

I had my second child, a healthy, beautiful daughter 👼🏻❤️ @ 39 yrs old and her brother, my son is 32 yrs old , now, they are 16 yrs apart!!!! Unfortunately we lost 3 between them 😔, But I am So Blessed 🙏 I always ask her “what took you so long to get here?” ❤️😂 She just turned 16 years old & @ 55, I’m happy to say, I’m keeping up with her 😂😂😂🙏❤️
My aunt had her second child at 39 yrs old as well during that time she was already a grandmother of one herself now that lil baby is 21 yrs old just graduated college and is at john hopkins for grad school and my aunt is 60 yrs old with a 44 yr old son and 21 yr old daughter and 28 yr old grandson and 20 yr old grand daughter 😁
They are such a beautiful couple loved watching their Fixer upper show, Baby number 5 was a gift from God for 2 beautiful loving parents God Bless them both and children
As little kids, we also been thru this with my mom & dad ! 5 kids & then mom had surprise pregnancy with our youngest brother. I remember they sat with us & told us about it. My siblings were thrilled but I was angry& in tears 😁 All I was thinking about is 6 kids is too much! But since day one, he was my best gift ❤

Congratulations to the Gaines' newest family member!!! What a blessing for sure. My son's were 9 1/2 years apart and I was concerned they wouldn't really know each other or have much in common. Wow was I in for a surprise LOLOL When my oldest was 28 years old he actually mentored and guided his 18 year old brother with college and work. The youngest son would go to his older brother before going to his dad what a hoot LOLOL. They are still close today at ewwww 50 years young and 40 years young. Where did the time fly???

I was 41 when I had my younger daughter. She is now 29 years old. I did not think of myself as an "older" mom.
I know right, I’m 41 too and I look and feel young and if I was married to a great man, I would so have another baby...And I have an 18 year old daughter and a 15 year old son.

I tried to explain this to a woman who bragged about her youth. I think being a woman is a blessing. The possibilities for her are endless. Being humble brings the best blessings. And there are no rules about being a mother or not being one. You know when that moment happens what you will do and how you will expect others to respect your decision.

My mom had a surprise pregnancy at 40 with me and at 42 with my brother after having my bigger siblings 18 and 16 years before
I had my last child at 42. I'm now 51. Advanced Maternal Age for women over age 35 is what St. Jo's hospital in MD calls their over 35 patients. I do think she needs to come back in a year and tell the truth about how tough it is to raise a child as opposed to having then younger...unless she had a ton of help.
I had 12. The last at 41. I never heard the term geriatric pregnancy. Congratulations to the Gaines!

Lol my wife was also surprised at 42 with a "geriatric" pregnancy. People errantly think that automatically means high risk. Nope! In fact she had NO issues whatsoever, and had a natural and unmedicated delivery. Hooray for Midwives and Douglas :)

My grandma had my mom at 45.
I had my girls when I was 19, 23, and 29. I started having baby fever again around 34 and now I’m 41. It’s difficult to accept that unless God provides a miracle, I can never have another baby (tubes are tied). Because I honestly still feel so young. Sometimes I wish I hadn’t tied my tubes.

The older the mother the more risk for complications with both the fetus and the pregnancy. I think miracle is an over used word but the fact that it went smoothly and Crew is healthy is pretty spectacular at 40.
Why is this a spectacular segment? Is 40 old for a baby? Hardly, and if so.. then God would put menopause on every woman at 35!

Its not cause doctors just want to be ageist. Its simply science. The risks of having a baby with neurological and or physical defects is a slow and gradual increase between ages 18-30. When you hit 30 it dramatically and greatly increases year after year. So at 35 it is considered risky. Not only that but the "oven" and over all the "kitchen" is generally past its prime. That means mom's body is something to consider as well.
