Big trees have already lived. You want to harvest them before they die. Young tree's are the ones that need to be left alone. If you keep with your mentality, then how will the future generations have any large trees? You're backwards. :)

I was like "does he really need to put in several wedges if they have a backho helping out?", then I saw them making room for a jack. 🤣 Why not put a tow line on it as well and add a pusher for good measure?
Mama always said "Son, better safe than sorry" 🧓, you just gotta pound some wedges, sometimes even when you don't need 'em lol, Nah but seriously I know people who didn't pound wedges because they thought it wasn't necessary or they thought it was a waste of time, or if the tree had no lean that needed to be addressed they thought that it would be overkill, but I witnessed an event that proved otherwise, know a guy who basically said that on a job once, "it takes to long, I'm just gonna cut on thru and put it on the ground, should be fine" or so he said/thought, he's finishing the back cut up, next thing I know he's making the final few miniscule cuts to the far side of the hinge and the tree sits right on down tightly on his bar, pinning it tightly to the stump, rendering it completely immovable, until here to save the day "It's a Bird, It's a Plane, ... It's SUPERWEDGE", All that had to be done from there was a little lift was placed on the tree, chainsaw was removed, tree was fell and thank God that it didn't sit back aggressively enough to break hinge, etc., it could have ended very badly
I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. The dude in all the orange get up … sure as hell doesn’t earn his living in the woods. Dull saw, and the goofiest undercut and back cut system I have ever seen! Poor tree suffered the “ death of a thousand cuts!”

Trees are like any other living thing, and have a finite life span. Usually when they get this large the core of the tree is rotting out. I had 4 oak trees about the same size along one side of my house. I knew I had to have them removed or they would have gone over in a storm and crushed my house. After the lumberjacks cut the trees down they were completely hollow for the first 20-25 feet. It was just a matter of time.
