What is Rising Damp? And How is it Treated?

Part one of the Dryzone ( www.dryzone.eu ) damp-proofing cream video. This section looks what causes rising damp before describing a two-part solution:
1) Prevent damp from rising up the wall (i.e. form a new damp-proof course or DPC) using Dryzone damp-proofing cream.
2) Block hygroscopic salts contained in the affected walls by replastering using the Renderguard Gold render additive.
The importance of correctly diagnosing the types of dampness affecting the building is also considered. The solution shown in the video is designed to treat Rising Damp.
