The exception to the "you can't stack multiple elemental damage types on one weapon" is when you add ice/lightning/nature/... damage to a fire staff or ice gauntlet. This is allowed, and is actually a decent idea as it gives you cover against mobs with resistances. The restriction seems to be specifically due to the weapon *perk* being elemental, weapons with elemental perks only allow gems of the same elemental damage type (or gems with a non elemental effect).
Ah awesome thanks mate. We looked at it again on Steam tonight and were able to deduce similar. My issue with this particularly is that the options for fire/ice weapon users is that they have multiple options to stack damage types on their main and / or second weapon as so many damage gems scale from INT. Void, Arcane, Ice Fire … life staff has only one gem that scales off focus - Amber. Anything resistant to nature damage and the player has a hard time we can’t swap out for any other dmg type. If we swap to a second weapon with an elemental perk we have no real options to gem that really.
Another good one. Got you a sub ;) Bit long in certain parts, could use a little edit maybe. But information wise a great vid. Thanks again! Keep it up.
Thank you for the kind comment it’s always appreciated when someone takes the time to let me know. Brevity is something I struggle with in my videos and believe it or not this is the heavily edited version. I will strive to do better and be be more succinct. Ironically if a video is too short YT will push you further down the algorithm search rankings also. Still - you are correct t I need to continue to work on it.
great guide man!! is there a certain level where you started slotting gems? I'm around 35 and I don't have a huge stockpile of gems but a lot of my friends are using them. (ultrawide actually looks so good fullscreen on a phone too it was a lovely treat lol)
Hey thank you so much for the feedback. Really glad you like the ultra wide. I spent years playing and recording in 16:9 on a 21:9 monitor because RUclips don’t give end screens for 21:9 format but decided I was fed up wasting the gameplay experience. With regards to the gems I actually gathered a LOT early game as I love MMO crafting. So I had a lot of gems (mostly from fishing actually) but didn’t progress my stone cutting until recently. I actually started crafting gems when I started looting more items with sockets on. I found that didn’t happen until early to mid level 40. The higher I levelled the more socketed items I looted and thus the more I delved into stone cutting. Whilst a real chore gathering the raw materials I still enjoy the crafting process and will take a couple of gathering trips per week with my food and clothing in tow. Thank you for the feedback - it honestly means a great deal to hear people appreciate the effort.

@@Wozzmatic Yeah, it definitely seems a bit limited.
