    So happy to see Dark Mane Avoca. He’s my favorite of the three. Glad his limp is barely giving him trouble and that he continues to thrive with the Talamati’s.

    Very sad to see this ... It will be difficult for a single lioness to raise five cubs, I hope she can save as many as possible 💕 I have said this before, but I am afraid for the offspring of Jr and Buddy. .... Koppie's pride is in danger, the Scorro breakaway is keeping a low profile, not to mention the lions that are in the area (Mbiri sub-adults) + (Mbiri males) I'm scared for them, I hope that they will protect the last lioness and the cubs 🙏🏻

      It's hard to see Buddy and Junior's legacy in both the Koppies and Skorro Breakaway Prides slowly go down the drain... Now down to 3 subs in Skorro Breakaway when they started off with 5 or 6?? I really don't think the younger 5 Koppies have a chance. If they're lucky, at least 1 or 2 might make it....

      @@thearchitectismail8703 yes she is from The Koppies Pride so yes a totally different Pride ... when Prides share Territory and they cross paths there is a fight that will ensue and usually Young Cubs or sub adults can be killed by the rival Pride and that’s what happened here ... any cubs that are from a different Pride is at risk to be killed by rival Prides anytime they cross paths ... This sort of thing happens all the time. Dominant males have multiple prides and sometimes those prides kill their competition. Same thing happened to the Mbiri boys when the Myanbulas killed off the Zebenine pride in northern Timbavati. Or when the Kambula girls tried to kill the Tsalala lioness in Londolozi, except the Birmingham Boys stopped it from happening

    I personally think Blondie is the most beautiful of the Northern Avocas (he could make a commercial for a hair shampoo) but Mohawk has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen on a lion. They seem to be great fathers as well, Blondie and Mohawk with the Nkuhuma pride with lots of youngsters and Dark Mane with the Talamati.

The Talamatis are a fine looking pride, all healthy and well and the young sub adult males in particular are stunning. No one knows what happened because no one saw what happened, only Junior eating the lioness. He didn't eat the 2 cubs. The lioness was killed by Mbris as well as the 2 cubs. This is very common between 2 prides. If BB's hadn't of been there when Kambulas attacked Lady Tsalala, she would be dead. Many people have told me the reason some lions/lionesses eat other members of the pride is so that other predators don't eat them. It's a type of respect. The majority of lionesses will eat their cubs when they die so, what Junior did wasn't out of the ordinary.

    Well I was over the moon at seeing one of my beloved Avocas Dark Mane and his beautiful Talamati Pride but after seeing Junior devouring one of his Koppie Pride females and 2 cubs most likely. Is his behavior normal ? He gets a pride has cubs and then abandons them i.e. Skorro Breakaway and now Koppie. At least infanticide has meaning, though I don’t like it I understand the natural process. This just makes me so very sad.

    Junior killed and ate two of his own cubs?

    • @ieatemcees
      @ieatemcees 3 года назад

      She was probably killed by the Mbiri Pride. Females are just as territorial as males. Junior was probably caught up in the mix and ate the remains for whatever reason. That was somewhat unusual, but it happens occasionally
      Check Londolozi's page. There was a huge fight between the Ntsevu/Kambula Pride and the Tsalala lioness. If one of the males hadn't helped defend her, it could have ended like what happened to the Koppies female

      I think perhaps sometimes they eat them to keep hyenas/ birds from getting them. Lionesses eat their cubs too, even if they kill them. Weird thinking, but in a strange way maybe its better to them.

    Wow that was disturbingly shocking I don't believe that that adult male was eating that lioness I didn't think thaey did that...wow. Could it be cuz they were really hungry or they do actually do that sometimes, shocking but thanks for the info and footage.

      It looks to me, like he's eating the cub; the dead female is above his head in the film; and more like what happens in a takeover. When Orpen males came in, the eldest lioness had 1 cub, And I only see one cub (the one male is eating on) In Jan 2020 there were 3 females in pride (including the older female). By May, there were only 2 lionesses denning cubs, and no mention after this about the 3rd lioness.
      I don't doubt the footage, I doubt the timing.

      Because the Koppies pride is a small pride to begin with, only 2 lioness, with 7 cubs... Now there's only 1 lioness left to raise the 5 remaining cubs, the future of the pride rests solely on her shoulders. That's a difficult task.
