Hey Cody! How about you bring a Geiger Counter in there? If i got it right, Lead is the last state of radioactive decay, so there might be something left in there? And if not, it would be interesting how much of the Background Radiation in there gets blocked by the lead above you
Crazy Cheese you mean its a shield against radiation right? because when you said it was the last state of radioactive decay im thinking of uranium stabilising into lead
As i understood it, Uranium does decay into Lead after a very Long time. And to Ben Tabor: I completely forgot that he already did that? But did he also check the Ore for signs of slight radioactivity?
Although lead is an end product of uranium radioactive decay, lead is not a reliable indicator for uranium. Considering the half-life of uranium isotopes and the age of the rock formations Cody is mining, assuming lead was the product of in situ radioactive decay would imply a concentration of uranium that would be both visible mineralogically and a hazard for his health. Since Cody's mine is not a closed geochemical system and that lead and uranium behave very differently chemically, you don't expect them to concentrate in the same places or stay together for very long. In any case, there is no reason to think that the presence of lead is any indication that uranium might be present. I hope it helped.
Hey Cody . I’ve worked 30 years underground and nothing works better then a well dressed scaling bar . Saves you so much time in removing loose material. You don’t have a lot of room so a 4 or 6 foot bar would be good for what your doing .
one of things you might do is it make sure you do not stick in a mine, also make sure people know where you are and for how long you plant to be there. And perfect example of second we see in the video, and ok example of the first we see in the video. So basically your request is fulfilled in the video.
Magic Seal honestly I don't know enough about the Kar98 to say. I took 4 years of Russian in high school, and so I'm partial to it, and it was available and cheap. I have no regrets about it.
Kar98 is atleast 3x as expensive as the Nagant, nagant is cheap and powerful and can reach out real good with iron sights. They are cheap because there is tons of them.
Minecraft Players: "This guy must have had Unbreaking and Mending on his Pickaxe!" Me: My 70 year old Dad still uses a real 75 year old pickaxe from WW2 that he had since he was a child, then found an unused model of the same pick a few years ago that is still about 2 inches longer than than the old used pick.
This is one of the reasons why I'm so jealous of the U.S. because I'd love to be able to fuck about on "the ranch" -be it mining/blasting bee keeping, shooting/hunting, and having such amazing views of the stars etc because of the lack of light pollution. Imagine growing up with all that as a kid!
Be careful next time Cody. After 4:15 you see dust coming of the cealing wich could indicate that the big part you're picking at might fall down ( probably over a tone of rock ).
Some of us will die from lung deseases being as safe as they can be and others may live long life smoking/working at construction. But yeah I'd use mask if I were him.
Now we want to see how much progress you can make with a pick trying to go deeper in the back of the mine instead of just knocking down the walls and roof of areas that have already been blasted. Actually, throw in another video using the old build a fire and pour water on the rock trick to see how well that works too.
it depends. one of the reasons to knock the stuff was to remove lose material. but yeah, the shit can move for different reasons, and looking at that really appreciates the use of reinforcement in modern mines - those rods and fiber reinforced cement they spray all around. (however it hides the beauty of rocks, but it is good for safety)

Josh Werblin If it degloves the poor things tail it's tail would've been infected, which is quite rare. Plus, the middle is best, has no chance of hurting it and is cleaner/safer.
That's true of many rodents, but with mice in particular the risk of injuring their tail that way is quite low.
I did that with a chipmunk. Freaked the hell out of me.
r u gonna keep the mice if so u should do update videos on them
derp derp ikr I wanna see them again
I have mice but they run away from me
nobody:
vietnamese farmers when they hear helicopters: this
lmao, im Viet and I approve
Ye vietnamese people always go make a mine videos when the war starts

with such a strong structural arch - maybe you'd be better digging the floor down a little rather than removing a great roof support?
its better to remove the loose stuff that may fall at some point first
If its so loose that some guy waving a pickaxe at it makes it come down then I dont think it has much structural strength left
Hey Cody! How about you bring a Geiger Counter in there? If i got it right, Lead is the last state of radioactive decay, so there might be something left in there? And if not, it would be interesting how much of the Background Radiation in there gets blocked by the lead above you
Crazy Cheese he has before iirc
Crazy Cheese you mean its a shield against radiation right? because when you said it was the last state of radioactive decay im thinking of uranium stabilising into lead
As i understood it, Uranium does decay into Lead after a very Long time. And to Ben Tabor: I completely forgot that he already did that? But did he also check the Ore for signs of slight radioactivity?
I don't recall if he had the samples he sent out checked for radiation.
35 seconds through 1:05 is the rawest material I've ever seen on this channel. awesome, no more stump, is dead
Hey Cody . I’ve worked 30 years underground and nothing works better then a well dressed scaling bar . Saves you so much time in removing loose material. You don’t have a lot of room so a 4 or 6 foot bar would be good for what your doing .
hey Cody, can you make a video on what to do if your stuck in a mine?
You try to dig out...
Or die...
Actually probably both...
The Electron 108 well don't dig down, you could hit lava.
Craft a new pickaxe and dig up.
*and have Internet?
one of things you might do is it make sure you do not stick in a mine, also make sure people know where you are and for how long you plant to be there. And perfect example of second we see in the video, and ok example of the first we see in the video. So basically your request is fulfilled in the video.
There's something about this video that makes me want to stop being a lazy fuck and help out
Noel Patino same
Yeah - gladly this feeling will go away after the video ends so I can continue procrastinating.
Love the Mosin Nagant. I've got one, and it's awesome!
scienceaddict77 That's what I thought it was
But why wouldn't you buy a Kar98 instead
Magic Seal honestly I don't know enough about the Kar98 to say. I took 4 years of Russian in high school, and so I'm partial to it, and it was available and cheap. I have no regrets about it.
Kar98 are a lot more expensive and hard to come by since most of them were burned after the war.
Kar98 is atleast 3x as expensive as the Nagant, nagant is cheap and powerful and can reach out real good with iron sights. They are cheap because there is tons of them.
Minecraft Players: "This guy must have had Unbreaking and Mending on his Pickaxe!"
Me: My 70 year old Dad still uses a real 75 year old pickaxe from WW2 that he had since he was a child, then found an unused model of the same pick a few years ago that is still about 2 inches longer than than the old used pick.
Who wants Cody on there zombie apocalypse team?!
Redstone Creator *Their
"there"
oof
Redstone Creator i want cody on the team, who wouldnt want someone who could turn a zombie into a atomic bomb with just a piece of paper and some wire
Not me. He would probably fall for zombie mice.
Me
Is it wierd liking the sound of vibrating metal or is it just me
darkmunchcookie
That’s what a guitar is pretty much
Swords can make the same sounds as well by hitting the flat bit with your knuckle. Check out scholagladitoria asmr sword ringing
I love the sound of the rocks hitting the floor.
Beautiful Mosin. I was surprised to see Cody use a gun, but living in the west (Utah I think) might require some firepower every now and again.
Havan Wisconsin afaik
Npgabriel even more so. Bears and wolves.
Yes, this is Utah.
Didn't Cody mention a feline predator at some point? I could swear he mentioned one...
aserta Probably a bobcat or mountain lion.
Ye gods, Cody. Next time wear a dust mask. I can feel the silicosis from here!
anonynomnomnom he does spray it down with water
That's like trying to put out a fire with a squirt gun. It is, technically, 'helping', but isn't actually doing much overall.
I think you mean pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis.
邪児 Kronaz that happens with fin partials in the lung from volcano ash
邪児 Kronaz Yes, he could catch pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis!
Be careful next time Cody. After 4:15 you see dust coming of the cealing wich could indicate that the big part you're picking at might fall down ( probably over a tone of rock ).
He's dead 😞
that intro is a cody slab
Booooooooooo
samuel lores HueHueHueHue
samuel lores that one goes in the TRAAAAAAASSH
hahahah etho and cody should do a co-lab
😒
Can someone tell me what mods this guy has? Explosives and lead and realistic caves! This is amazing!
His mod is Reala earth and his skin is Cody the minerwith realistic sparks
No gloves? Enjoy the blisters :)
jontgreene the gloves are for the mice
Men can work without gloves
Real american men don't blister. blisters are for communist.
Some of us will die from lung deseases being as safe as they can be and others may live long life smoking/working at construction. But yeah I'd use mask if I were him.
niko la that's right. he did have gloves. I forgot. Hope the mice were worth it. lol
How did you put Fire Aspect on your pickax?
Now we want to see how much progress you can make with a pick trying to go deeper in the back of the mine instead of just knocking down the walls and roof of areas that have already been blasted. Actually, throw in another video using the old build a fire and pour water on the rock trick to see how well that works too.
Ilovetheplatypus last one is a great idea, like it so he can see
That flex at the beginning with the rifle though. Cody you absolute legend.
How safe is that though? there doesn't appear to be much support for the roof of the cave.
That is the support, a curved hole in fairly solid rock is not too much weaker than a reinforced one
mwalsher yes it's called mining. it's dangerous if you don't know what your doing. even if you do its still risky.
it depends. one of the reasons to knock the stuff was to remove lose material.
but yeah, the shit can move for different reasons, and looking at that really appreciates the use of reinforcement in modern mines - those rods and fiber reinforced cement they spray all around. (however it hides the beauty of rocks, but it is good for safety)
You never pick facing the entrance like he did, cave in would block his escape.
J Salameh. He always had his back to the entrance. Only the camera was on the other side. He's not an idiot.
I feel this isn't Cody's Lab but Cody's Adventures or something like that.
Cody needs to wear gloves when doing that much work with a pick axe to avoid blisters.
Prospector Ruby and maybe some long-sleeves. Hell, let's go crazy and toss in a dust-mask too.
Prospector Ruby Cody aint got no time for safety!!
Nah, the blisters will heal and leave calluses behind. Calluses = Nature's Natural Gloves.
Don't forget your vissy vest too! those crazy loader operators..
Prospector Ruby he should be more worried about dust. The skin hardens
So uhm...why are you not afraid that all of this will just collapse on your head when you mine out chunks of it?
