13 years later and I'm here enjoying this relic again. After High School Musical, I kind of starved into teen musicals. And that's what captivated me, because it had a more serious approach, when you didn't even talk much about bullying effectively. It was here that I met some alternative bands and the musical genre "Ska". I have a lot of affection for this film. 💜 2023
Stlll LOVE this film! Out of all the teen musicals, this one was the most inspirational and substantial! The storyline line/message was great and the soundtrack was great. It was awesome that everybody in this film actually played the instruments themselves and weren't miming! Wished this had a sequel 😢

Of all the songs from high school musical-esque movies, this may be the most criminally underrated one of all time. It was a catchy pop take on the hard work that Jason Robert Brown originally put in, and they really did it justice.

I was really surprised by this movie. It was rather like teen movies were in the 80s, rather than what they've become- it had youth, but it still had soul.
I don't know who composed this song, nor I know who sang it. That's a killer combination for sure. Move your insides, goes straight to your heart and never come back. Expecially on days like todays when music seems to have lost much value than in past decades (my opinion, nothing more than this) a song like this is really welcomed. Thumb up in the sky.
I love this movie. Don't understand why this film failed to earn enough to even break even. It earned something like 2 million dollars. Maybe in a period of hip hop, the kids just didn't want this kind of music anymore?
