@ManiacClear they have given several reasons, none of which make a lot of sense. Supposedly, the biggest thing was his God pool, which makes no sense because his God pool basically created the meta last split. And the other thing they kept saying was that they didn't feel like he was confident enough in his shot calling. Even though Pegon was apparently the shot caller last split and they went undefeated. It doesn't make any sense and trying to make sense of it is just copium.
@@altimagobrrr3838 Jake's pool is actually very limited. He did dictate the healer meta, but he was never a great guardian player. His time with the bolts and now the Season of Souls shows that very clearly I don't wanna take sides here and say the Warriors are right, or that they did Jake dirty, but we're talking about Genetics here. Genetics is a Worlds MVP and by far the best support in the league for a while, and it's a clear improvement for the Warriors as his peel and shotcalling are insanely better than Jake's
So amazing to see a team where everybody sees opportunities at the same time and instantly react to it. Unlike my friends who don't even notice when one of their own teammates has died... 😅

@@chillpengeru literally that, i kill the mid/carry and they insta-rotate off death and i get bm’d. No man, i just solod him and he came back to fuck you up. Tough shit
Maybe this is wildly incorrect, but I definitely feel that the call to kick Jake and pick up Genetics will break this team. I think Genetics was the best player on the planet last year, but personally feel that style and personality wise he clashes with the existing Oni Warriors roster. The Warriors seemed to work because there shot-calling was instinctive and (at least from what I hear) pretty clear because they didn't have too many big talkers. Genetics is the opposite of that, he is loud, very tactical and likes to think through games carefully. That may be a great addition to the team, but I can't help but foresee the team imploding because Genetics absolutely rages at SoT doing something silly in the lategame.
The problem I have with this streak record (while it is no doubt extremely impressive, especially with how tight SPL is nowadays), S2-3 still had best of 2 sets, so even if Epsilon/Panthera/NRG didn't win everything, they dropped a single game in s2 fall split. They went undefeated from s2 summer week 5 Titan loss to the Regional finals just before worlds, only losing to Paradigm there. That is 17 sets in a row without a loss, and only one of them was a draw. 11 wins a row, one 1-1 draw, then another 6 wins in row. For me that is already a contender for the biggest streak, over this Warriors run. And only team that topped that Epsilon/Panthera team...is obviously s3 Panthera/NRG, starting from s2 worlds with 5 wins there, 14 sets without a loss in s3 spring split, 3 in spring masters, 7 fall placements, 2 in Regionals and another 3 in s3 worlds. A literal calendar year without a single set loss. 40 sets in a row without a set loss. That is the true record and will stay unbroken til the end of the game. They also won 18 individual games in a row in s2, Warriors did not beat that record. Warriors had 7 in a row.
100%. This is one hill I’m willing to die on. Idc how they want to spin it, NRG still has the longest streak. Maybe Betty can make a video on S3 NRG going the whole year without dropping a set 🤔
To be fair, how many of the Oni's losses were actual losses and not just them limit testing and going too far? I mean, unless "Jake going 1v4 and dying getting a laughing response from everyone in the team" counts as "taking the game seriously", I'm pretty sure the Onis purposely troll games. Now if that counts as "taking the game seriously", then I'm probably the most serious player there is considering how much I laugh whenever I die to a 1v4.
In my opinion, Jake’s Nox should be as feared as Paul’s Hel or Cyno’s Ne Zha It’s just that good Imagine if they were all on the same team. That's basically 3 less bans you can choose, so you only really get 2 bans
this is seriously the best catch up channel for all of the smite competitive games. I'm seriously surprised they dropped Jake despite his performance throughout, but the plays from Genetics I cannot argue with and it'll be interesting to see how he performs in that team comp insane how many games Oni's won only for them to lose the one that mattered
As an OG, I love it when people bring up the epsilon / NRG / Panthera days, but let's be real, it's been said more than enough at this point, mechanically, the teams now would all defeat old school panthera. They may have done something similar, but nowhere near on this level of play or competitiveness. They massively changed the league simply by existing, but what the warriors pulled off is arguably far harder from a competitiveness point of view. On a separate note, that ending lol.
I disagree. Nothing is harder than winning back to back worlds exact same roster and not losing a set for a year and a half. The only achievement that comes close to NRG is the Kings going undefeated last worlds imo. Ill take a 12 win streak at the end of the year that includes winning a perfect worlds run over a perfect phase 1 that falls short come masters.
As someone who never watched more than 3 sets an entire split, it was great seeing a team like the Oni Warriors who simply woke up and chose violence EVERY SINGLE GAME
This Oni Warriors team is the closest thing I've seen to Epsilon/Panthera/NRG from the end of Season 2 through the entirety of Season 3. Just dominant in every roll, with arguably the best in the world at 2 positions. Never thought I'd see anything that close again after the talent pool got so curated, but its been incredible to see. To draw a comparison to League, they reminded me of the tear Samsung White went on back in 2014 when they shredded the entirety of pro League of Legends in that world tournament. The hyper-aggressive style combined with incredible mechanics. It just felt like no one could touch them.
Even in the highlights Jake's positioning with bodyblocks seems to steal the spotlight. It was a masterful split for him and they did him dirty. I hope he finds amazing success on the glads he's earned it.
I'm very happy to see that the Ferrymen were able to take down these giant's. Been cheering for them since the start of the titans. Also, these videos are very nice in the meantime waiting for SPL, thanks for everything you do!
As someone watching Oni's for the first time through this video, some of SoT's plays had my jaw dropped. Dude gets ganked by a Serqet and ults out, the usual, but then hears her go into stealth before the leap and times his ult cancel to stun her, before turning around (at super low health) to follow her with Taolu Assault to ensure she dies. Absolutely insane knowledge of both the enemies available resources and what they might do. I think I would cry if I got obliterated that hard.
Sot playing like his name is just “orTroll” and they kick the player who was the victim in 90% of the matches. Jake is about to have a villain arc and Oni might just collapse
Jake was the discipline that the Warriors, they would loose to every team that managed to outpace them, so now any team that actually delays the game is winning vs the Warriors
this is basically an awesomejake montage, imagine deciding to kick someone before a masters tourney WHILE STILL UNDEFEATED and then even tho he was up for mvp, nah lets a new support who's team got diffed semi-finals in the same tourney lmao it wouldnt be me
I wonder if when epsilon/NRG played if they had this SPL system if they would instead have had the longest streak. Because with how it was then sets were 2 games, that's it. Since there were a couple times they tied which technically would have stopped any win streak that had, if they had that 3rd game to potentially (albeit probably) win if they'd have a longer win streak
PGM and aror already made it clear on their podcast that any current "longest win streaks" are kinda troll as when you look at how long NRG/Epsilon went without losing or even some other teams from the old 2 game system that I dont't remember, it was far more impressive.
