    I feel slightly angry that she was pushed to the point where she felt the need to do this. No other Caucasian, Asian, Latin American, etc. beauty guru is ever harassed about their hair in every single video they produce. But the second people see a dark black women they think "oh, there is no way that hair is all hers". I am sorry to break it to several ignorant people but 1. Not all black people are bald as birds and 2. People from every race wear hair extensions. I know that some people are simply asking out of curiosity but a large amount of people are simply asking to get kicks out of the response they are expecting to receive or already know. Before you ask something please take a second to think "hmm... Would I come off as rude or nosy if I asked any other race this same question?" If the answer is yes, then please keep it to yourself. If you are still absolutely dying of curiosity then search up weave on any search site and you will be able to find plenty of information. Why can't her hair just be beautiful instead of beautiful for a weave. Tesla didn't owe anybody any explanation for simply wanting to glam herself up and look fabulous as she always does. Things like this just get on my nerves.

    • @IndiaVlogsHair
      @IndiaVlogsHair 9 лет назад +67

      Exactly. Everyone's hair grows at the same length, but it's all about retention. A lot of people feel the need to get relaxers, which is a harsh chemical to straighten your hair. It can break off of your hair a lot and once I stopped getting them, I retained SO MUCH LENGTH. And a lot of black girls hair can grow long without relaxers so idk why this is even still a thing lol. Black people's hair is coiled tighter so that can make it LOOK shorter but.. if y'all want to see more black people with long hair subscribe to MahoganyCurls, GlamTwinz334 and Naptural85. Thanks Teala for making this video! Your natural hair is gorgeous.

    Lol not even trying to be rude but its the same thing. Weave is weave, its just the process on how you put it in. Exactly what you said hair extensions are hair extensions. So you wear weave, but you just put it in your hair differently, you just don't sow it in.

    • @Magicfromacamerax
      @Magicfromacamerax 9 лет назад +63

      no its not extentions and weave are different omg your obviously clueless and have never heard of it weave is sew in , glued , cap or vixen. extentions are clip ins , strand , and the braids so no theyre not the same .

    • @pinkcutiekaylyn
      @pinkcutiekaylyn 9 лет назад +8

      Weave and extensions are the same thing there just put in a different way, they both make your hair look longer and it's not your hair therefore it's the same thing.

      @NICKIE1090 9 лет назад +2

      pinkcutiekaylyn thank you. extensions to me just sounds more proper lol. But like you said, either way both of them are not your real hair so therefore its weave or extensions b/c they both are making your hair longer/ or adding more hair.

    • @123litecameraction
      @123litecameraction 9 лет назад +7

      Why are you basically forcing that she has a weave like no stop. Weave is getting your hair braided up and having hair tracks sewed onto the braids some people get them glued too. Extensions are an EXTENSION to your hair. Which means adding more . Tf

    • @maykay720

      Not true, weave is under the category of extensions. Weave is called weave because it's sewn to the hair. Other types of extensions have their names because of how they are put in. Not every extension is a weave.

  • @DeshaLynnelL

    Hair extensions is weave, the words are interchangeable & those stylists are not that good at blending your natural to those extensions

  • @Tinx419
    @Tinx419 9 лет назад +150

    Literally the word "Weave" means to "interlace especially to form a texture, fabric, or design"
    Thus a weave refers to specifically a "sew in" the process in which the hair is "interlaced" or in other words sewn to your hair when it is in braids.
    So technically what she has isn't a weave. People use the word weave wrong and so they call any form of extension a weave when that's not true.
    Idc though her is laid and looking flawless and that is all that matters. She shouldn't of had to do this video in the first place it's just hair.

    I think she would benefit so much from going to a salon that specialized in her hair type....Those dead ends and heat damage from constant flat ironing are not signs of "hair in great condition" I'd be more concerned w/ the the overall health of my hair and the way it looks instead of just being able to say "they're extensions not a weave"...

  • @12yeartwihard
    @12yeartwihard 8 лет назад +85

    Bless teala's heart. Baby weave is just the general term for the hair. Its not "a weave" its just weave. Like "my weave is 28 inches." And it's not always sewn in. Also the hair doesnt match your natural texture, so i would find a particular brand that matches yours before getting your hair done again. 👀

    can someone please tell me tell why is that when white girls are seen with long hair no one questions whether or not it's there hair or not but when black girls are seen with long hair? is it weave, sew in, tracks, etc. black girls can have naturally 100% long hair 2 just like white girls! just sayin.

    • @sydneynicole5240
      @sydneynicole5240 8 лет назад +12

      Because theres a stupid sterotype that fully black girls can not grow hair. Which is not true, because anybody can grow long and healthy hair, you just got to take care of it. But there are so many sterotypes about black girls.

    • @BriTeaches
      @BriTeaches 8 лет назад +6

      +Kelly Forester this is a very ignorant comment, (ignorant in the dictionary use of the word). Black hair grows just as fast as white hair. Relaxers have damaged black hair so much that most black girls that you see with a relaxer will not have healthy hair. It is growing, it is just shedding and breaking off just as fast. With many black women going natural you will see. I big chopped my hair last summer and it is already below my shoulders. My 5 year old daughter's hair is almost to her butt.

  • @Domhalldc
    @Domhalldc 8 лет назад +93

    this is old but I don't think she should continue getting the i tips, or keratin whatever I don't think that Looks good for African American hair, she should get a weave, possibly a lace front because her hair at the top looks fried. Also she should stop going to white stylists (IM NOT BEING RACIST ITS JUST BEST FOR OUR HAIR TO BE DONE BY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME HAIR TYPE)

  • @Maryxx95
    @Maryxx95 7 лет назад +16

    it's crazy because besides the breakage in the front her hair looked long and thick. it was only innneed of a trim and protein treatment. castor oil could have helped her grow back her edges.
    Her hair could have grown to the length of her extensions if she took better care of it for it to be that long already.

  • @yesshetalks
    @yesshetalks 8 лет назад +28

    Her hair actually looks better here (her edges and leave out) than it does now. But when she said the stylists said her hair was in great condition, that was a bold faced lie! It's clearly very damaged at the top and even the ends.

    Uhhh...Teala if you look up the word "weave" and "extensions" in terms of hair they both literally mean the same thing which is; " lengths of real (meaning human hair not natural) or artificial hair woven into a person's own hair to create a long hairstyle" both words have that definition idk what you were thinking when you said that the two were different

    • @mikelle777
      @mikelle777 8 лет назад +1

      They do the same thing extend your hair but it's a completely different process. When you get a weave in most cases it's literally weaved in. Your is braided and someone use a thread and needle to sew in the track in the braid. Extensions is when lose hair is clipped in or add to your hair.

    • @BlckMariposa
      @BlckMariposa 8 лет назад +1

      Kell 101 No honey im in a cosmetology course now the term "weave" since were talking about hair not fabric is the process of bonding or attaching the fake hair to your real hair hence why all forms of any fake hair that is attatched to someones head is considered weave. The term "weave" some people take way to literally because it generally applies to actually weaving fabric together but when applied to the concept of hair the process is different. Hope that helped you.

      Because it sounds stupid. It's called a weave because of the way it's installed. Clip ins, glue ins, and sew ins are all hair extensions with DIFFERENT application processes.

    • @Shesaphantomm
      @Shesaphantomm 9 лет назад

      ***** in cosmetology the ACTUAL professionals classify extensions as weave because its still going into your hair and its not your hair ... Weave isnt a process its Hair thats not yours ... Extensions isnt a process its hair thats not yours therefore they are the same thing just with different processes

    • @TheBebe7124
      @TheBebe7124 9 лет назад +2

      Well the cosmetologists need to look up the definition of a weave. Because weave is indeed the process in which the hair is installed. Call it what you want, but just know that you're wrong.

    The ends of your real hair are really bad, things like that need to be taken care of, instead of putting extensions on. Also, burning your hair will not make it better, it makes you lose hair. If you didn't put too much oil on your hair, and took care of those split ends, your hair would've been healthy. I learned my lesson on that, and if I was you I wouldn't get extensions, and get extensions that blend your hair. My opinion, no hate towards you. 🙂

    Is your hair chemically relaxed ? How do you straighten your natural hair with the extensions

  • @Voltaire619
    @Voltaire619 5 лет назад +1

    The only reason the stylist keeps going over her head with the flat iron is because her natural hair texture (curl pattern) is most likely a 4c or 4b. (She needs a pressing comb, not a flat iron) Those curl patterns are hard to keep straight because the curl bond is so tight. She’s bound to keep damaging her hair if she keeps straightening it. And with her type of hair texture she will eventually have to go natural. (If she doesn’t want to end up loosing all of her hair and at this point if the hair on her scalp is damaged she just might have to get it cut or do some really good deep conditioning and treatments and stop applying heat to it). I have hair stylists in my family that do all types of hair (no matter the texture) and anyone, no matter what, will eventually damage their hair if they keep applying heat. Now she claims her hair is thick. Thick hair and hair that’s in a tight curl pattern are two different things. 4b and 4c hair isn’t the strongest curl pattern, the hair will be quite thin. (Not thick) and with thin hair, it’s prone to damage a lot quicker. Its wiry and fragile (that is why your hair is damaged now). So yes I agree with the others, you have 4 textured hair but you’re around people with 1 textured hair. You want the same convenience as them yet you’re not them. Honestly, you do need more friends within your own ethnicity because even the small things are affecting you in a not so good ways. And another thing, (because I heard her speak about this) being a multiracial girl is not easy AT ALL. I’m multiracial and it’s complex! You don’t really fit in a certain group, people are constantly trying to guess what you’re ethnicity is, and it’s hard to pin down one culture because you’re apart of more than just one. (And on top of that both sides of my family comes from two different countries-my ancestry. And my father wasn’t even born in America!) I’ve even been disrespected by other people when we begin to speak about ethnicity, etc because of the stereotypes instilled in the west and because people don’t believe someone who has brown skin can indeed be mixed (that is because everyone in the west expects lighter skin to be a sign your racially ambiguous) My sister who is very very light skinned (she’s of olive complexion) with a long narrow nose, people don’t even believe we’re biological sisters! I’ve had people who question my MOTHER and ask “Are you sure all of your kids are by the same man because they all look different”. (Which is rude and yes we all come from the same man). (I’ve had people called my hair a weave and a wig for years!! I’ve always had girls ask me is my hair real? Then once I tell them they’re like “oh well, you look like something “different” anyways”. And just because I don’t have a thick accent, wear my cultures clothing or look entirely like what I’m mixed with, shocks people and they just assume what their narrow minds think is accurate. (And no I don’t know any of my native languages but I am trying to learn them). So Leala, you should be grateful that you have consistence in your family. That you don’t have to suffer the same social problems as a person who truly is racially ambiguous.

    "Why is everyone on your channel so obsessed with hair"? The answer is because Everyone on your channel specifically is nosey and what's to know what your "real" hair looks like because your African American and unlike all the stereotypical rumors not all, not even most African Americans short or no hair. Everyone on your channel is rude and nosey and would not have asked so many questions about your hair if you weren't black, when it really doesn't matter at all, and every race wears "weave" or "extensions ". That's why.

    So when you run your fingers through your hair like from your scalp are you able to feel where the extensions start??? Like you can touch your tracks if you have them in your hair so can you feel the keratin extensions

    i know this video is old but mannnn! everyone was so nasty about her hair. I would love for my hair to be like hers. it's beautiful. let her do what she wants if she wants long extentions then she wants it. she lives her life how ever she wants too! :) I'm still trying to grow out my hair it's too damaged. been using coconut oil
