That Boat is a floating hotel called Sunborn. It’s a fantastic place to get a drink and sit out and watch the sunset. It’s in the Royal Docks. Also can be reached by the DLR. After the Royal Docks, you go over Silvertown before seeing the main body of the Thames. From up there you can see City Airport and the Thames Barrier. Great views, but then again, I’m a Londoner, so know and love it and love heights. I would advise anyone to get off and have a stroll around the Royal Docks and the Excel, treat yourself to a drink on the Sunborn.

What a "VIEW" The Cable Car looks like more fun than the London Eye, think how fun the rid would be during a thunderstorm... Sinead, you have your pilots' wings now. Looks like you had a full and fun day.
Sinead realizes another amazing video!! Was cool to see the views over the river Thames, thats reminded me the same experience that I had in my country when I embarked in a cabin like that, I felt fear too because the high. 😱

I have been to London so many times that I always leave a 'next time' thing or two and this has been on my 'next time' for quite a few trips now. Next year, my friend who has never been to London is coming with me. She's good to take off on her own, too so I don't have to do all the 'same olds' that she'll want to do but this is one we'll both love.

How fun! Who would think all that was also in London? Very informative.
They have gondolas like that at Walt Disney World in Florida, and the biggest complaint is the lack of air conditioning, though the vents work nicely when one is moving. However, if it stops, it can get quite uncomfortable. I am wondering how these are in that respect.

OMG Sinead, I'm scared of heights too. I was feeling your words, hoping you'd make it across okay. I did the Manchester Eye in 2008. It was small and wobbly and nothing to hold onto inside. I was trying not to freak out because my pregnant daughter was with me, and I didn't want to freak her out too! Did the London Eye in 2011 and what a wonderful experience, I would recommend it! I've also been all the way to the top of Salisbury Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower - don't know why I do these thing to myself?

Hello Sinead, thanks for such an interesting video. although I was brought IP in London I have not lived there since about 1970, now I live in Essex (Clacgon ) retired, age 80
Oh Sinead, how fabulous it was to meet you and see you in action on your Westminster tour (I was the one with the South African Gin 😊) I told my husband - it was like meeting a celebrity! Hi Sinead! That was an absolutely fabuloso free tour by air!!! Thank you for bringing me along those flights! I have always wanted to go on that Emirates cable flight across the Thames but never did. The weather ha ha always got in the way. Imagine the sway ha ha ha.
Now you wouldn't mind going up the mast of a tall ship whenever they have an open house by one of the tall ship during tall ship festival on the river held usually around Greenwich during the summer! Such fun and thrill. Promise.

We did this last December, it was a very wintry day and quite misty. I didnt enjoy it as I am afraid of heights.My friends loved it.

can confirm the sunsets are lovely on the cable car. The river bus has stops near the cable car and it is also worth a trip particularly at night . It has a bar so it's like a expensive nightime cruise only cheaper.

I totally understand the fear of heights but you've got one over me: I'd never be able to do that ride or the Eye. I can barely do a high rise building (the Sky Garden would be my limit). LOL. I'm also with you on "please don't join me" b/c sometimes it's nice to have something like that all to yourself, but especially if you're filming.
This was a hoot! Sinead, you were a tad nervous about riding in that Emirates cable car. It could securely carry eight people---and it is actually connected to something. BUT, you will get on an airliner to New York and fly at 41,000 feet connected to nothing! Thank you for this delight. PS: What is the O2?
The O2 is a big concert arena with exhibition space, restaurants, etc.

Always nice to spend time with you Sinead. But this is not my particular cuppa. When I go to the UK I like to see the most ancient, historically interesting things possible. Like the site at Oxford where Bishops Ridley and Latimer were burned at the stake; or the block at the tower where Anne Boleyn got hers. Y'know light-hearted, fun things like that. Followed up with fish & chips and mushy peas with a nice Cuppa!
I've been thinking about you guys a lot this week what with the heat and everything. Hope you're managing to find ways to keep cool.

Wow! Wow! the cockpit flight simulator was fantastic! I love flying, and I'd love to experience this. However, I think the London Eye is a better experience than the cable car (at a much higher price, of course). Thanks for sharing.

the white yacht is the sunborn yacht hotel have stayed there was very nice its close to the end of city airport runway
Thank you so much! I'm visiting London in a few weeks, and I'm seriously considering a trip on this. I'm surprised that I can use an Oyster card - I always dismissed this as an overpriced tourist trap.
Oyster cards are a must-have! Or now you can use your contactless debit/credit cards, too :)
Highly recommend the Oyster card. Gets you on the tube AND buses. Also as Sinead said, you can also use debit/credit cards. Oyster cards you can top off when it gets low (you can tap it on the machine to see your balance). Not overpriced at all.
@@surfingtheoceanoftheinterwebs oh, I always keep my oyster card for London visits. I meant that I had always dismissed the cable car as a tourist trap. I'm shocked I can use the oyster card and it is affordable!

Sinead forgive my ignorance but whats an oyster? We planing on visiting London in the early Autumn and will I need one please lol..... As always I enjoyed this but not sure I could get brave enough to get off the ground no matter how incredible the views! I am with you on that feeling ...... even watching it gave me it to be honest. Free Tours I so appreciate your vlogs!! To me London is incredibly huge... I shall enjoy plodding about there but hell and high water would not get me in to any sky tour so bless you cos this I really could not do!
An oyster card is a travel card :) You can buy them in advance, or when you land, or just use your contactless credit/debit card instead!

Oh Sinead! You are so brave! I don't like being up high either. Airplanes don't bother me but xabke cars, buildings and monuments are a NO! The London skyline was so spectacular. Were those dark clouds filled with smoke or were they storm clouds? I have been very concerned about the heat and resulting fires in London. I pray everyone is safe and that you have cooler days soon.

I'm coming in 2024 and was considering riding this, but not so sure now. I'm afraid it's too high. I think there will be no trouble riding the Eye though, different gondolla design .
The Eye definitely feels more 'stable' for those who don't love heights :)
