Whenever I finished a drawing I added a layer on top with one color and used a blending mode with a lower opacity (Is that how you spell it) to make the colors look nicer

every time i watch things like this my first thought it "that sucked so much of the color out of it, nothing was wrong with it before!" and it makes me wonder if i have some weirdness with me eyes or a badly calibrated monitor. the squirel at the begining looked HELLA WASHED OUT to me when it was 'unified' help?
