What an album. Britain really does produce some talent. I'm also loving other various UK electronica based acts like Faithless, Burial, Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Unkle, Autectre, Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Leftfield, Stereo Mcs, The Streets, Goldie, The Bug, Allflaws
Beautiful album ! Heard of Orbital for the first time through the music-game "Frequency". In "Frequency", Orbital's "Funny Break (Weekend Ravers Mix) is featured as the one of the tracks as your level challenge. "Frequency" can be played on the Play Station game console. Other good artists on "Frequency" were Bt, Juno Reactor, Paul Oakenfold, Meat Beat Manifesto, and The Crystal Method.
I was introduced to Orbital through a Playstation game. I can't remember the name of the game, but it had the song "Petrol" in it and I was blown away.
I love how the description here states: "Edited to make the transitions between tracks as jarring as possible." Would not have it any other way!! Must buy on vinyl. Remind me, payday 11th every month, anyone?
I bought this album when I was 19. I just turned 40. Sadly, I’ve still never had the chance to see them live. * *siiigh* * A man can dream tho… * *wistfully looks into the distance* * …a man, can dream.
Its super rare to see this kinda group live.. I saw like Chemical Brothers, and The Prodigy but the live is honestly usually not as good as the albums.. Live, you're stuck in a shoddy mosh pit and cannot hear most of the obscure stuff, and it's more like "whoa I saw these guys and they had smoke and lasers and it was SICK but man, I can vibe to the music harder at home." I am kinda bummed about it, but rappers and electronic artists just aren't usually that good live. Orbital and Chemical Brothers were sick live, but I knew if I had a recording of that track and played it at a party it woulda been way more intense, and I'm not sure if I think that's cool or lousy - it's just a thing I feel I have to acknowledge
Just saw them live in NYC -- my fourth(?) time in 25 years -- and they blew my mind as always. Now I'm journeying back thru their whole discography. I had forgotten how much of a banger "Last Thing" is!
Love Orbital, I been with them from the getgo (M25 motorway in UK Daze) from late 89 onwards and have performed with them and am proud to have all they done and some un released mixes too..... 30 years on an they still got it..... Love P&P
Now it's 2024 knock, knock at your front door. Of your chosen Social Media platform.. R.I.P. privacy vive le government. 10 yrs of BoJo, give me Jerry Brownn or Pol Pot!!!... or any old piss-pot come to think of it. Night, night, don't let the piss- gnats bite..
It’s been an age since I’ve listened to Orbital! (Not to be confused with the Orb, another stellar techno-psychedelic group from the same era). This is new to me and loving it! More edgy than the couple other albums I have. I like the goa-like pummeling drums! The magic in art is making it weird in some way. I had to draw vegetables in art class. So I did, but gave them “Hello, my name is” name tags (Hank and Clem: a head of lettuce with his buddy, an eggplant) and had them attending an Annual Produce convention, Guy-talking about a female piece of celery with impressive stalks. I don’t draw bowls of fruit. Not my thing. Had to draw a bunch of grapes so I gave them all smiling faces, captioned “sure they look cute, but just try to eat one!” What’s the fun in making art if it’s not fun? Nothing! I will say that while I love MANY, many electronic acts from differing genres, my favorite will always be the band Underworld’s “Dubnobasswithmyheadman” and “Second Toughest In the Infants”. It’s impossible to “cover” an Underworld song. Maybe a remix, but a “cover” can’t be done without being an obvious ripoff.
Poor Simon ain't exactly poor simonnknow more, neither is David Gray.! Do I keep hearing humping noises. I aint exactly poor but noones come ' a Knockin. ' What do you mean, aah, bless?.
Been listening since I was 17! Now I'm 38, still an awesome album! Love it. My kids do too! Great tunes
Kids...too...Great
Me pasa lo mismo 😌
Haha same here.
I'm listerning now for the first time at 38 )))))))))
Same same!!!
great :)
Each album is so different, but still retains the Orbital signiture.
They change through the Era's.

Don’t forget Richard D James in your list… aka Analord, Aphex Twin etc…
This was the first CD I ever bought. Still vibing to this today, lol
like your description "Edited to make the transitions between tracks as jarring as possible." :)
Doctor? is brilliant
Got the green album in 1992 or whatever for a present at about 6 y/o and been hooked since.

Correction "Frequency" is found on the Play Station 2 game console. The sequel of the game "Amplitude" can also be played on the same game station.
Wow cool tunes for a game
I was introduced to Orbital through a Playstation game. I can't remember the name of the game, but it had the song "Petrol" in it and I was blown away.
Nobody's music has been in more video games than Bt, Juno Reactor, Paul Oakenfold, Meat Beat Manifesto, and The Crystal Method
I opened this album too thought it was strange at the time 😂
Oi! is my favorite song 😊
I want to rub this album all over myself
I think I'm on my 4th straight play through of this
Recently saw them at Rock city in Nottingham....it was a spiritual moment..... unbelievable!!!
I couldn't go cos of medical shit, I really wanted to, am just south of York on my boat so wasn't too far away, glad you got to go though.

Just the best live shows ever!!!
Do I just keep imagining hearing humping noises. Yes! As usual, it's only my imagination!
Where's the second disc? The U.S. release had two. The second had Beelzebeat on it, which is difficult to find.
Only ever heard, any of this album in live form. Giving it as much as my full attention as I can muster.
Maximum respect bros.
Aaron.
I love how the description here states: "Edited to make the transitions between tracks as jarring as possible."
Would not have it any other way!!
Must buy on vinyl.
Remind me, payday 11th every month, anyone?
The first song always reminds me of Surfin' Bird
у меня есть этот альбом на cd) нравится!
Great art is often most appreciated long after it is first exhibited...
☮️☮️💓💓💓💓
I love the Dr Who and Tool tracks, probably my favourite parts of the ltd edition double album.
Forgot how much I love these Boys..... Never again.....Now I need too see Them live again......!

Presets is awesome too
@@divineglitch9550 I've seen them twice and can remember almost nothing. Don't do drugs kids.
Great memories while living near Washington, DC . . . daily bread music!
Only now have I noticed how the first song is reminding me of Surfin' Bird
My sister's fav album... Love it too...
Had it as a CD. Amazing album
One of the Best albums Ever!
One of the best EM albums ever...

I love the smooth rhythm of Funny Break. Sounds so prestige....
I had this album on CD & DVD 5.1
Meltdown..hands down the best piece of music ever composed!!

It's a monstrous tune!
It's a tribute to the genius of the Hartnolls that they can even make David Gray sound good!
really awesome music from two techno legends
Amazing set.............. Long live orbital.... Style... Psichedelia alta livelli
Just saw them live in NYC -- my fourth(?) time in 25 years -- and they blew my mind as always. Now I'm journeying back thru their whole discography. I had forgotten how much of a banger "Last Thing" is!

Time travel. Can't keep it straight in your head. The United Snakes of Hypocrisy continue to try and push their Donnie Darko level timeline
Love the Crass / DK references in the comments - shows that not all electronic music fans are shut off from other genres.
This is a very different Orbital to the one that created 'In Sides'...
The coolest move David Gray ever pulled, knock him, but he has got a great voice....
It's a tribute to the genius of the Hartnolls that they can even make David Gray sound good.
@@Captain_Kremmen He's their brother-in-law so they had to do a good job 😁

You best song first and then...what kind of people listen to the rest of them? ... Maybe people from a different age.

Many tracks feel like 90's japanese TV and variety show.

This and the green album are my favourite from Orbital

I hate all of you for helping him and not me right now. I hate myself and I hate life
life hates you
do not say that. Life can be better if you look at it from another perspective.
