    So your plowing a field that has already been plowed??? What's the point? Maybe I'm wrong but it looks to me the field was prepped before hand. This is pretty awesome, but where I come from when you plow a field, it looks nothing like this. But again, this is a cool video, what a setup.

    these people dont seem to think when making comments... the land was a perfectly normal situation. probably stood for one season max like most people do when they have land that is of this size for planting. Running around saying things like 'its worked' or they wouldnt do this in clay etc... just shows the thoughtless type of people who are on youtube. I for sure wouldn't plough clay land nor would i plant in clay, let alone buy land that is clay ridden...

  • @TheTuckerFarms
    @TheTuckerFarms 12 лет назад +1

    It appears to have been disked or cultivated prior to being plowed. I would say that qualifies as "worked" ground, too. I'm not sure of the agricultural norms in your part of the world, but in the US we would typically plow immediately after the crop has been harvested to turn under the residue or to turn under sod. In your case, it appears that all you're turning under is soil. I don't see the point? But there may be one.

      andre leandro if one doing better is your argument then your not mentally competent to understand my issue with the video. its not a matter of doing better or worse its a matter of Case IH bragging about having a record for ploughing, and them not actually ploughing to achieve it. so please choose your words or at very least let the gears between your ears turn enough to knock the rust off before commenting

    • @AndreLeandro139
      @AndreLeandro139 10 лет назад

      MrCodythegreat
      But you say that he is not ploughing why? The images show the field plowed and about 28CM deep, so what you cal plow? Come on i am a farmer i call plow from 16cm with an mototiler with a mouldboard to 1 meter with bulldozer

    • @MrCodythegreat
      @MrCodythegreat 10 лет назад +2

      andre leandro the moldboard plough is for turning sod, stuble down earth up, i to am a farmer and have been ploughing since i could reach the clutch. why I say hes not ploughing is because that field has allready been turned and harrowed to the point where its nice and fluffy, so of course hes going to fly through it at record speed. i want to see him turn sod which is what the plough is for then get a record for ploughing

    • @MrCodythegreat
      @MrCodythegreat 10 лет назад

      what i said is by no means rubbish, i made a very valid and correct point, im sorry if you are not quite able to grasp the concept but i will be happy to dumb it down a bit more for you if you'd like. "bullshit" being a lame mans term used by those who cant comprehend the topic in which they are attempting to contribute to. also I have never said i was a better then anybody at anything but i have given my honest opinion with constructive criticism. As for your silly little farmer comment, I have a couple hundred acres of crops in every year also cattle, so yes that qualifies as a farmer, to end off I have a wife, family and farm that im happy with, if thats not a life by your standards then thats your opinion but i am very content with it.

    Why worry about soil ecology? When was the last earthworm alive in this sterile plot? But I'd like to see farming practice that found a compromise between high-speed cultivation followed by chemical ferts, and the old time horse and single furrow plough.. The absence of birds indicates sterility; their presence means worms, a few grubs and fertility.

      Before modern agriculture with irrigation and fertilizers, this sandy ground was unproductive. It was a moor with a few trees where a few sheep grazed in the winter. Around these fields, it is an artificial forest of pines, now.
