- Berlin’s Staatsoper Unter den Linden has announced its 2023-24 season. The season will showcase numerous revivals and new productions.
Anna Netrebko, Marina Rebeka, Sonya Yoncheva & Elīna Garanča lead Staatsoper Unter den Linden’s 2023-24 Season. Your stage directors seem to be world class comedians. Most of the stagings are laughable.
Netrebkos intonation in the video is absolutely horrible 😣
Her voice is a wreck. She pushed it way too far into dramatic repertoire. She’s a lyric soprano trying to sing dramatic roles.

Jeg vil være positiv men..det er et par sopraner med en grusom vibrato som jeg ikke vil høre. Slike skremmer jo ikke minst nye operaelskere.. Disse forekommer i flere Operahus desverre!

Diese Bühnenbilder werden immer gruseliger, sich so etwas für 3,4,oder 5 Stunden an einem Stück ansehen zu müssen, grenzt schon an Folter.

Netrebko ist aktuell 'the best Lady Macbeth alive' und die Inszenierung kann sich ebenfalls sehen lassen. Auch die anderen Inszenierungen scheinen vielversprechend. Die Besetzung der 2022 Tosca in der Staatsoper enttäuschte jedoch die Zuschauer, was ein englischer Opernfan zu Recht in seinem Beitrag 'Perle Negre' (ruclips.net/video/NmsPdAV5ekE/видео.html) fesstellt und den Knabensopran, der den Hirten singt, als beste Stimme hervorhebt. (Review of a particularly bad 2022 run of Tosca in Berlin featuring Marcelo Alvarez, Angela Gheorghiu and Marco Armiliato).
2023 verwendet die Staaatsoper das gleiche trostlose Bühnenbild wie schon 2013. Sein Kritikpunkt: der Dirigent Marco Armiliato 'ertränkt' die Sängerstimmen, die forcieren müssen und dadurch die Schönheit ihres Timbres - sofern vorhanden - verlieren. Hoffen wir, dass die neue besetzung im 'alten Bühnenkleid' die Eintrittspreise zu rechtfertigen vermag.

The mayor of Berlin and his 'minister for culture' (a black with Tansanian background) who is a manger of pop & rock bands try to have Netrebkos scheduled appearances canceled because she has not openly opposed the Russian attack on the Ukraine which she actually cannot do without risking the cancelation of her Russian passport. But here you can see on RUclips Netrebko as Lady with Domingo as Macbeth. (Link: ruclips.net/video/hMqSwnsD5Gk/видео.html).
Enjoy it, as even though at his ago Domingo is doing a fairly good job which he certainly did not as Giorgio Germont in Traviata.
Für mich völlig indiskutabel, dass Netrebko erneut singen wird.
Auch nächste Saison leider.. wir brauchen keine Putinlover in Berlin

@@Altonahh10 ich nächste Saison auch !… wir haben ja noch 2 Opernhäuser und 3 Konzertsäle in der Stadt .. Gottseidank haben wir ja genug Auswahl 😉
@@marcsteppi2192 Mir fällt die Entscheidung nicht schwer, ich mag die Puppenstube Staatsoper sowieso nicht und auch der Konzertplan des Staatsorchesters ist langweilig in meinen Augen.

Platz 1 ist bei mir die KOB vor der DOB 😉
