Coming from a band myself, I naturally have a higher appreciation for bands whose members are all involved in the creative process. It’s even more impressive when each member is able to crank out multiple radio hits on the merit of their own songwriting. Of course, Queen is one of the leaders of the pack when it comes to that, and even though Freddie and Brian wrote the bulk of their hits, Roger and John are no slouches. “Radio Ga Ga” and “Another One Bites The Dust” come to mind as tunes that haven’t exactly been eclipsed by anything else the band has recorded. This is my first cover of a John Deacon song, and I’ve heard from very reliable sources that the keyboard solo was recorded very early on in the recording process, as John was dead set on not having yet another guitar solo in the song. In honor of that little anecdote, I’ve decided to pull out a different vintage instrument of my own to set the solo apart from others I’ve sung or whistled. It’s an especially great time for us to all start singing this song together, don’t you think?

I didn't get to live in the same world as Freddie, and the world missed his voice for a few years. Then this guy showed up and gave the world the voice we were all missing for so long. I'm glad someone is able to replicate Freddies voice, because living in a world where a voice like Freddies exists only on recordings would be no fun.
I don't understand the hates and dislikes and saying "nope" when somebody compared him to Freddie (I know what you feel, beceause Freddie is a legend). I am a big fan of Queen's music but I have to admit that Marc here is the closest ever so far that we cold get of Freddie; Sings like him, a little bit... just a little looks like him, and can play instruments flawlessly like this is the official acoustic cover of this song. The first time I saw his video, I was speechless and was like "Is this Mercury's son? The f**k? sounds perfectly like him" and That I understood that Marc has already set the standards that if you want you sing and want to sound just like Freddie, You have to be as good as Marc Martel. I'm pretty sure Freddie is proud of this man.
I think I can get _some_ of the shock factor. Who would ever believe that someone would come close to sounding similar to Freddie? Even Roger Taylor saw that a standard needed to be set for Queen tribute bands, and took Marc in setting up his Queen Extravaganza band.
I've had a chance to see Marc and his Ultimate Queen Celebration band, and they are marvelous in how they approach the original studio sound of Queen with respect in tribute to this music and the band.
Yes he's the closest thing to Freddy ever. However if you listen to him and Freddy, they have a distinct difference depending on what era Freddy you compare him to. For me he is similar to early Freddy, the long haired Freddy of the mid to late 70's. Marc's voice is a bit thicker than Freddy when he sings the early Queen songs.
The Like/Dislike ratio is 150:1. That's 1/2 of 1 percent. RUclips is always gonna have some trolls out there. Marc has nothing to worry about.

I have downloaded this video and literally have it on loop. This is my favourite Queen song and I just can't get enough of how Marc does it. I think I've discovered heaven, and Marc Martel is God, Jesus, Buddha and whoever else you believe in (not that I'm religious or anything.)

A fan from Russia heard Marc’s rendition of O Holy Night in a store one day during the 2020 Christmas season. In fact, his newest Christmas EP charted at #1 on the Holiday charts there, for what it’s worth. I also know Marc’s song How Many Kings is sung in practically every church across the world, in multiple languages. Quite a few videos of them are here on YT.

composes, has stage experience and years of practice and studio... I wished he (and not Adam) joined Queen so they would keep recording new songs sounding like Queen.

Just discovered Marc and as well as the amazing performances, it's also helped me to re-appreciate the songs. Sometimes overfamiliarity with a recording makes you miss the music. Hearing these, it what could easily be new arrangements performed by Freddie, results in experiencing them afresh almost like demos.

because they dont want a "Freddie Mercury's Copy" , Martel is for sure one of the most similar voice and is a spectacular singer without a doubt but he is so similar to Freddie and that is the problem. That is one of the reason that with Adam Lambert they arent "Queen" they are "Queen + Adam Lambert", no one is going to replace Freddie's place and in my opinion put Marc Martel is like a "Freddie's Copy" and that is why they no agree with him in the band.
