Thank you Thank you! How much of my life has been toiling in the works of trying to produce fruit. Its all about remaining in Jesus to be my needs and treasure.
Sam, so glad you found comfort and hope in this. Abide, remain, dwell in Christ and the Spirit will do the work of God's kingdom In and through you for the sake of the world. Peace.
Steve, Thank you for obeying the Father in using the gifts He placed in you to be salt and light in this wounded and lost world. I agree this is the heart of the gospel. I appreciated how you integrated the Father, Son and Spirit into your illustration. Keep shining His light!
The essence of Christianity is indeed defined in the parable of the Vine keeper. We are not here to just save our own souls but to bring forth God's Kingdom on Earth. This can never be done by faith alone. Jesus defines Christianity and his mission in John 15. Jesus said, I am the True Vine and you are my branches. Those who remain and me and produce much fruit, will have eternal life." No, there is nothing we can do to add to Christ death on the cross. However, we will ALL face our day of judgement Matt 16:27, when the book of life will be opened. There will be no get-out-of-jail-free pass for the self-defined "elect". We must ALL be judged on how much 'good fruit' we have produced aka, our WORKS, which can never be achieved by faith alone. Only as co labourers (1 Cor 3:9) with Christ can his Church achieve the mission he started. The essence of Christianity my friends is not merely the saving of our own soul, but to bring for His Kingdom on Earth, which can NEVER be achieved by faith ALONE. Comments?
I love it!! I'm a visual learner and this video brought a better understanding to this passage. Thank you so much for your time and dedication! Looking forward to more videos.
Thank you for the production! What would add to the point he is making in this verse to is the part where he says about those branches that do not produce fruit he cuts off(or lifts up in some translations) and also thrown into the fire.
@@SteveThomason Well, depending on which translation you lean toward, Jesus could be saying a couple things. 1. It you use the 'cut off' translation, it would be that those who aren't producing fruit are not abiding in the vine and therefore need to be cut off as they are unprofitable branches. I'm wondering, are these the same branches that are also ''thrown into the fire' later on in that verse. 2. If you take the 'lift up' translation, it would mean that the vinedresser saw the branch was struggling (perhaps no lights, being trampled on the ground etc) and 'lifted it up in order to train it to produce fruit. I tend to lead toward the first translation for a couple reasons. What do you think Steve? And thank you for asking !
@@godsgizmogirl4197Jesus also said He prunes the vine so that it can make good fruit. Sometimes we need pruned of things in our lives that are preventing us from making good fruit. I don’t believe Jesus just cuts us off and throws us away. He knows we are human and growing in Him and that we need pruning sometimes. It’s painful but necessary.

Jesus is talking about doing good works through the church and remaining a part of his spirit through the church his body. Don't let anyone tell you that you don't need works. We are created for good works. Faith without works is dead as it says in the book of James. In the end everyone is judged according to what they had done. You will reap what you sow in this world and are rewarded both in this life and the next for good works.
Totally Agree: Here is a study which irrefutably makes this case. The Bible Based Version of The Vine and the Branches ruclips.net/video/qFl1maKlnk4/видео.html
Disagree. Jesus is not talking about works in this chapter, but moreso He is talking about sticking close to or abiding in Him. When we abide in Him, we are equipped to do good works because it’s His Spirit that is allowing us to do good works. We don’t need to do anything, but it’s GOD working in us that lets us do good works. We do not do good works so that the Lord will love us, but it is because that the Lord loves us that we would want to do good works. God bless

Heavenly father, I would want to taste the true vine according to and loosening the word of John 15:1-15 those in Christ will be fruitful, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ! I thank you heavenly father, glory to the Kingdom of Heaven! Annelies Bakker, the Netherlands.
I have to partially of disagree on the grapes or the fruit of the vine being love. I'm not saying God is not love, for we know biblically He is. And the fruit of the Spirit is derived from that love. The fruit of the Vine is the fruit of the Spirit. Galatians 5: “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” Those who are in Christ are distinguished from unbelievers in that they have been gifted with the Holy Spirit, enabling them to bear fruit. Even those qualities of the fruit are expressions of love. So I hope you see why I partially disagree. Splitting hairs to eliminate confusion. Because the word love has been diluted even in the church. The characteristics of the fruit are the characteristics of Christ. This is what it means to be born again and to be called a Christain. Or Christ filled one.
Lovely imagery. I left Christianity behind long ago, but as a gardener and forest dweller, this strikes home. Just find it interesting that the roots of the tree sunken into the living soil were not expounded upon. This soil is our mother and without her, we lack the nutritious complex to transform the energy of the sun into tasty fruit.
