It's fascinating that the whole Fruits Basket story involves themes of toxic families. Even when they are not outright being violent to Tohru, her family members are really hurtful to her. I like how giving someone shelter and food does not justify verbal discrimination.
I think that was sweet when yuki and kyo heard what she was saying. I liked the part when yuki said "never to talk about miss handa like that again" that was so cool of him
I think the anime Fruits Basket is a little similar to Ranma 1/2, people turn into animals, they fight martial arts, when they fight they throw themselves into the lake, the house is also similar😅
my family acts like that! (its mostly my grandma, aunt & cousins) so when ever they're picking on me (for liking anime & other non-american things *idk they're weird*) I'm gonna remember that one day tohrus grandpa will come slap them XDXD

It was originally released in 2003 I believe and the recent one the 2019 one is a reboot but the 2003 one only had one season so we didn't get the full story until the 2019 one unless you're a manga reader
Yup. This came out in 2003 with the same voice acting cast as the Reboot. At the time the manga was not finished yet so that's why it has a few differences from the manga & the reboot with an incomplete ending. As for the voice actors, many old fans were hoping we would get the exact same cast from the 2003 Eng Dub for the reboot and thankfully our wish was granted! The 2003 anime artstyle also resembles the old art style until the author changed her art style later on which is why the Reboot looks different. It has the newer art style. So some of us are longtime fans since the original anime and thrilled to finally see Fruits Basket animated once more 😊
