- Welcome to my channel. These videos are in essence who I am. I'm someone who has learned to navigate his own path. Through that journey I've had to come with terms with who I am. At first I thought I needed to always center what I put out into this world around what made me different on a physical level. But I've changed since then. Now I want to tap into and explore who I am internally, through my passions and interests. And hopefully through these things, I can form connections with this world through our commonalities. We all live through the human experience, and this is mine. Nice to meet you, I'm Anderson Pleasants.

@@j4ret221 maybe you haven't heard but SBSK'S mission is to educate the world about disabilities/mental health issues/basically people who seem different than society's standards SBSK gives a place to share those people's thoughts and opinions and anything they want so people without those issues can understand them or maybe people with those symptoms and challenges can recognize or think they may have the same problems and get the diagnosis and help they need if needed they build awareness in thier community and outside of it SBSK is using their platform not to get views to get money but to get views so people's voices get heard to educate people and help people be more accepting of others

I agree. You should make this channel about your "take" on life, not a constant explanation of your medical history. However, most new viewers who stumble onto your channel will constantly wonder "what is his condition?" so you should include a link in the description that says something like..."If you're new and wondering about my medical journey, click this link to watch my explanation of it all."

Im so glad that you said that [we] constantly change in life. It’s hard to stick with a single version of ones self when things constantly change. People are soooo much off better in life being their most authentic self. It really is how we grow and get to know one another 👏🏻💕
Hey Anderson, I saw you and your brother on SBSK, and it's funny but even before you started talking I thought to myself, "Wow your hair looks great!" and then you said (as a joke) that that's what you'd like to be the first thing people thought when they saw. As you and your brother were talking, I realised what great, humble and lovely souls you two are, and how much both of you have to offer to this world.
Then I discovered this video, and I was thinking to myself that you should write a book, and of course, like a minute or something after that, you started talking about how you used to love writing and you've just been rekindling that passion. So yeah, awesome synchronicities!

I’m hearing. You inspired me to learn ASL and now that I work in retail where I meet so many people, I’ve actually held conversations with people using ASL. Thank you.
If you are hearing, I definitely recommend learning ASL. While many spoken languages can be difficult to learn, I’ve found sign language is quite easy once you match the signs with their meanings. It’s also very beautiful. :)
i love how you can project your words bro. i struggle with being soft spoken and shortness of breath so i really steer away from talking in general because it consumes almost ALL of my energy, bur THIS gives me hope. lots of it. love you Andy

Hi Anderson. I first saw you with your brother on SBSK, then tried to find more about you and saw you on Ted Talks, then here. You're such an interesting person and I love your passion. I really do hope you keep talking more about other thoughts and experiences you have. I too struggle with suicidal thoughts and I too spent many years in advocacy. I too hung up my fierce advocacy hat and am exploring other sides of me and other sides of people. I'm still an advocate in that I'm open about my mental health issues, but that is just one of my parts now; advocacy is not front and centre stage anymore. I hope you enjoy your transition into this next season of your life. Perhaps you can listen to the song, "Turn! Turn! Turn!" by The Byrds. All my best to you and your brother. Keep shining. AP you have a beautiful way with words and it's so interesting hearing your thoughts on how you've changed and how you wish to present yourself. I came here to say how much I enjoyed your quote from the SBSK video, "If you find yourself, you love yourself" (hopefully not butchering that too badly), but I enjoy your view on creating yourself here, that we aren't static images (or at least we have the option to change). Honestly your self analysis and clarity is humbling to someone 10 years older than you. Appreciate the video you put out and I just wanted to say you and Jaimeson have amazing hair and fashion. Edit: I forgot to add that watching your videos and some other ones in the Deaf community make me want to learn ASL more, simply because I would hate to miss out on a dope convo if I ever get the chance to meet you.

As another disabled person, I respect wanting your opinions and interest expressed before and as well as advocacy you are a person and often time i find someone expressing their interests is just as effective and i like to engage with them just as much as an advocate its just a different type of advocacy , you are very good at expressing yourself , and i mean that in the general deaf and hearing population included. you are very clear. and im so happy i found your channel

I just saw your video with sbsk and was very impressed by your thought patterns and i thought that you have so much potential and intelligence that you sureley have to be more evolved and matured now, than back in the sbsk video. so i look you up and discovered this video and channel and im inspired by your beeing, independent of your disabilities. Your awareness of life and beeing human in general is something very rare and very needed in this time of age and societey. im very glad to found your channel and witness the growth of you, the channel and me.

I discovered you through your music signing videos while you weren't posting anything new, and I wanna say that even if it takes years for you to feel up to making anything new I'll be excited to see it, and even if your life takes you somewhere else and you stop making videos entirely, I'll still be really happy for you and all your growth.

Don't worry about what everyone else expects - you just be your authentic self and express and discuss the things that interest you - that is your deeper self and that is what is unique to you alone to share with the world. You don't need to keep explaining your condition even if people ask - you are under no obligation to constantly appease them. We subscribe to your channel because we like you and you are interesting and entertaining and can give us things to think about or make us laugh. And I am totally in the same boat with having like zero consistency to keep ymto a regular schedule. Again you are under no obligation to appease anyone's expectations of regularly scheduled videos. You put out what you want when you want and we will be here for it 😁

I can't understand you without the subtitles but I can hear the inflections in your voice when you wanna emphasize stuff so that's awesome that you got that down. I've only really seen your SBSK video so I'm glad to see you trying to talk. Have you ever thought about using a tablet to communicate, like the lost voice guy on Britain's got talent? (who was also interviewed by SBSK) You're an amazing person that overcame so much! Remember that.

Have you heard of the enneagram? On the face of it, it looks like a personality schema but really it's a tool for spiritual growth. I wonder if you would like it? It's helped me better see patterns and connections in people, and helped me better understand the nature of ego. It was devised by a Sufi in the Middle East a very, very, very long time ago and was introduced to the west in the 60's or 70's during the hippy era in Berkeley, CA. The theory has since been modified by psychologists and now it's commonly used in psychotherapy, and by spiritual seekers and Buddhist monks. It's become incredibly popular in the mainstream, too. So much so that I think some theorists have moved too far away from the original. For that reason here are a few solid places to start if you're interested: Claudio Naranjo is very important in understanding the theory properly. He bought it to the west and this is his book is called, "Ennea-type Structures- Self-Analysis for the Seeker." His language is a bit dated and very psychological. Some feel his work can be a bit difficult to take in, but I think it's hands down the best enneagram narrative around. Two other good books are, "The Complete Enneagram" by Beatrice Chestnut, and "Wisdom of the Enneagram" by Don Richard Riso and Russ Hudson. And Carolyn Zaikowski has a youtube channel where she speaks about the enneagram. I like her take... Sorry for the book :)

Luckily it wasn't to hard to find your new channel after a short google search (hopefully SBSK updates the link). Thought you really got your point across, and that you have a great sensee of humor. Being contingent to the ideas and structures of the expectations or perspectives built from society in the minds of people, is something i am also very tired of and cant wait untill im fully over that stuff. Can't wait to hear some of your thoughts on philosophical matters... life.. after-life.. artificial life, extra-terrestrial life. etc. I have a Buddhist monk friend who believes most people can be 'their happiest' by setting small obtainable goals and achieving them, while maintaining a struggle for sightly less achievable (but still possible) goals. I told him I thought he was full of shit. He laughed. I then realized that I had always wanted to say that to a Buddhist monk, and how happy I felt that I had done it. I guess I kinda proved his point for him. What are your thoughts on a 'general rule for happiness' for all humankind? Is such a thing even possible?
