This is a note for myself. This song has become very important to me, and if ever it is to torn from the general public, I want this story to be gone with it. But if anyone is to come across my story and read it to the end, I would be proud to have it be understood. At what I would say was the beginning of my life, I awoke from a peculiar dream on my fifth birthday. I had no memory of who I was and no immediate recollection of what I was capable of. The only thing I could remember was the dream: myself standing behind a man running the interface of a computer, and a flash of light that enveloped the room we inhibited. Why I remembered that dream in particular and nothing else I could not make sense of. It was a mystery. Little did I know, as an effect of aftermath from this oddity, I was in subconscious shock. I did not feel anything, think anything; my body was running on autopilot - not by the sense of a child's incoherence, but by fear. And during my family's celebratory carol, with only my unenlightened anxiety, I ran under the table in the dining room and curled into a fetal position. Everything that happened soon afterward is now a blur to me. My memories were gone. (Filler note: No later than half a year after my awakening, my mother had decided that I was not fit to represent myself in public due to my irrational behavior, so she tried to lead me to living a proper lifestyle by homeschooling me. Four years had passed in the process, and I had gained no recognizable intellectual improvements - much less any social advancement. I was barely prepared for the world with late development and forced out the door on a crutch, but I didn't even realize it. I thought I lived a life that was ordinary, and in the process of being tossed into a crowd of young socialites with my insensible predisposition, I was neglected. Nonetheless, I adapted, I better educated myself, I met people I love that love me as well, and I felt free. . . but I always wondered why it had to happen like this. I knew I was fickle, so I often looked at the sun during Autumn to distract myself feeling down) Nine years had passed. Around the age of fourteen, I had once again started to have peculiar dreams. One such dream was of myself and my previous significant other parting. Cliché indeed, but with the situation that was at hand, I could not help being nervous. The thought alone made me feel disconcerted, but what made me truly afraid was to see that my dream was a precise foretelling of what was to come. In a flash, I looked back to the vision that I had before the time I first awakened. My fate was sealed the moment I was born into this world. I was shocked simply by how ignorant I was to believe that I could have any sort of freedom, but I still tried foolishly to defy my fate. I tried slowly drawing blood, using medications to sedate myself or even kill myself, but no method I resorted to was even enough to make me incapacitated. I was weak minded, and my instincts overcame my will. The only choice I had then was to keep living with the conscience that I am slowly rotting. I laid in bed for days, and as I wallowed, visions that I had previously seen started to become more clear, and I slowly came to terms with the cerebral manifestation of my destiny. Five years passed. I am as who I was five years ago, but I have grown bitter. Told many times that my wisdom precedes me, told often that I have aged quickly, my pride is slipping away as I become surrounded by people that mistake my intuition and reason for trying new things for pretentiousness. . . I'm too young to be treated this way. Today was harsh. I am cold, malnourished, and I have had little sleep over many months to amplify all of the negatives. I came home and rested from a long walk in the cold wind. I'm so sad. After having fallen asleep to a recorded mix of the cutscenes for Zone of Enders: The 2nd Runner, I awoke from a dream to the first chorus of this song: "Message of the blowing wind Erasing memories Stars are the witnesses of our existence Change is what the world awaits Could that be peace or war? The answer no one knows Trusting the break of dawn The blue bird flies away" My memory flashed: the dream I had was of myself writing this very story. In tears, I continued to listen. "Travelling beyond the bounds We have to take that step What are we waiting for? It's now or never Fear to see "The World to Be" Is why we hesitate Repeat the same mistake Hoping to break new ground The blue bird flies away" "Reaching out to catch the sun To hold it in our hands Longing for something strong to hide our weakness Soon the light may disappear Nothing is meant to last Yet we believe our world Searching for happiness The blue bird flies away" "Message from the blowing wind, Erasing memories". . . "Fear to see 'The World to Be'". . . "Reaching out to catch the sun". . . This song speaks to me in a way I never perceived possible. I am making a promise to myself today: to be strong enough to face my prophecy.
1234ping4321 If I were you, I wouldn't dwell heavily on such things. It's entirely possible that this was all caused by hallucinatory trauma, and the more you ruminate on your own mind's errors and (even only perceived) abnormalities the more pronounced they become. For example, I have hallucinated constantly since as long as I can remember. I see colors and shapes floating through space at all times. I have found that the more I give it attention and the more I consider it the more I can see. In the last few years it has progressed from sometimes seeing complicated shapes to seeing creatures and entities, things that from my standpoint not only look but feel like living things. To combat this, I basically refuse to think about them consciously. The more I think the more I can see and the clearer and more real they are. In my experience observing other people they too seem to have this kind of increase in mental instability linked to how much they are thinking about their problems. That, in conjunction with knowledge of psychosomatic illness and the like, lead me to believe this to be true. In short, if you think it's okay it will be, if you think it's not it won't be. Mind over mind. Idk if you even want or care about such advice but it won't hurt.
I love this song, the only reason why i know about it though because monty oum put it in one of his kick ass videos but it was only part of it so THANK YOU for uploading the full song XD
Song is so awesome... i had this on a mix CD i made years ago and fished it out the other day, this brought back so many memories. i had forgotten this great song completely
@Leosivilla I think it's fun to listen to this song on the Walkman when fighting the A.I. weapons. But when sneaking around I like view of deep snow and calling to the night. On another note. ZOE2 was so fun. When I heard this song on PeaceWalker, I had totally forgotten it was from Zoe2 even though I had a feeling.
so i'm currently attempting to learn violin 1, 2, and the solo violin right now so i can decide what part i want to play in a show..... and all i have to say is I LOVE this
@glodyfinger45 Great. They fooled me with the Finnish-Japanese version. I'm marveled to know it's ancient Egyptian, sounds really amazing for someone who never heard it (or noticed it, if heard), and as you said, there's isn't many songs in this language. Also, I'm impressed of how you know it, 'tis a dead language. Thanks so much for the info.
amazing song. ZOE 2 is one of the most meomorable games I've ever played even better than MGS in my opinion. The guy who directed ZOE 2 is co director of MGS4 by the way
there are two diffrent teams on it, also HD collection is coming first, if it get enough money itll fund ZOE3 and then hopefully more of the series, also, there is supposedly a remastered version of the whole ZOE 1/2 that is supposed to become an anime, imagine that. itll be worth the wait
@Arppis Most people don't argue, period. Arguments require facts. Instead they use opinions, which cant be argued, and beat others over they head with it until they feel like they have won. It is not even about frustration either. Insecure people feel the need to belittle others cause they have no self-confidence. They think their faults are justified if others are worse. It is even better when others validate their wrong attitude. this is why the best thing Is not to complain but ignore.
In a recent podcast for download by MGS4 players, it was asked about how many people would want a new ZOE game. The people of the Kojima Productions Report recently mentioned they got around 2000 replies asking for a new game in the series. I'd like to ask you to go to the Kojima Productions site and then to the KPR to send in a comment asking for a new ZOE. They're noticing that there are people who want it, let's make them sure we want a new ZOE!
Yeah, either way, they made it sound very intriguing and relevant. I think I heard in an interview (a while back) they based the arrangement of fake words on the sounds of Finnish words.
best mecha game ever! i really hope they could make a sequel.. just an opinion. somehow, i have a feeling that Freedom/Destiny Gundam is inspired from Jehuty hehe. Jehuty rules!
Indeed. I actually liked the mechs in Xenogears AND the characters. Also, I"m kind of glad Zone of Enders is not as well known but still has superior gameplay.
I would normally say i love this song... but as a matter of fact, i don't love this song... because when i hear this song i feel alive! the perfect song for the perfect game!
I prefeer the VOCALOID (MGS : PW) version. But,this is still awesome, and in some parts ,like in the 'english' singing part it is obvioublsy more 'natural'
@glodyfinger45 Ancient Egyptian? That makes the song even more valuable than I had thought! Is there any chance to find the right syllables/hieroglyphes for it? (Already googled, of course in vain...) I own a book on that language but currently am too lazy too learn from it.^^
Agreed, and I forgive Kojima for Zone of the Enders, not so much for Metal Gear, only in it (like nearly everything else) for plot, and that he favors the English dubbers over the Japanese dubs.
Well you to have to understand the first one was more of a test to see what would succeed and what would fail. They then built on what was popular in the 2nd, so naturally the 2nd is way better. =]
@ThePiccolo747 Ummm actually I went to the website the Writer of the song said Its Scat (Gibebrish) but inspired by Finnish words he said that he wanted the lyrics to sound like a "Celtic Spell" and he got a japanese singer to sing it. So its acctually Finnish scat with a japanese accent LOL!
My only problem with the HD collection is that, despite both games being packaged into one, it all feels too short! I just hope the third game will be even longer. D:
I know kojima directed this game like he did the MGS series...my question is does this series suck you in like MGS does or is it just another mech game? P.s. This song is NUTS !! lol (and I'm used to listening to a lot of Japanese music !!)
@GhostFoxChris lol i used to wait for ZOE3 years ago and it wasnt released i did wait for ZOE 3 after metal gear solid and it didnt appear -.- i am already waiting for ZOE 4 now and i havent even played ZOE 3 +.-
R.I.P Kojima Productions, someday, we will remember the Kojima-sensei. *KOJIMA IS GOD!!*
They're not.... Gone. They're just not working with Konami
one of the best intro songs i've heard in ps2 gaming history. not even ff12 intro song can came close to this masterpiece.
This is a note for myself.

Funny story, eh?

Antidote.exe did they ever stop? because you're not alone
This is fairly autistic but endearing. Glad you were inspired though.
An absolute beast of a soundtrack. Many people don't talk about this series much but this, it's on another level is terms of OST and action.
I love this song, the only reason why i know about it though because monty oum put it in one of his kick ass videos but it was only part of it so THANK YOU for uploading the full song XD
I Just finished today the HD Remasters and.... ZOE is one of my favorite videogames franchises! (KH is #1)

Soon the light may disappear, nothing is meant to last...best part
This song is so awesome for some reason. I can't stop listening to it.

Tittle of this epic music really suits the game.
Z.O.E was indeed Beyond the Bounds!
@glodyfinger45 Great. They fooled me with the Finnish-Japanese version. I'm marveled to know it's ancient Egyptian, sounds really amazing for someone who never heard it (or noticed it, if heard), and as you said, there's isn't many songs in this language.

Lloyd: project aumaan's purpose is not domination........ DESTRUCTION....... he's here
ADA: It is anubis
Ken: you must, even if I don't make it
Vocals by Maki Kimura. Just gotta love this interesting piece of composition - engaging music and intriguing non-English lyrics.

the piano at the beginning was awesome , but i like the remix of this song much better

Well as i recall there were large periods of time between the ZOE and MGS sequels, so ZOE3 certainly shoudn't be written off =P
best mecha game ever! i really hope they could make a sequel..

I think when they interviewed the singer of this song, she actually said that a lot of the lyrics she sung were "gibbberish"
@Kerrathlol the funnier part: the pilot (or "runner") of the robot lies right inside there :D
Indeed. I actually liked the mechs in Xenogears AND the characters. Also, I"m kind of glad Zone of Enders is not as well known but still has superior gameplay.
@Leosivilla In peace walker its edited with a software that actually destroys sound. Its called VOCALOID
I would normally say i love this song... but as a matter of fact, i don't love this song...

I swear I heard this playing at the gym over the weekend.
@glodyfinger45 Ancient Egyptian? That makes the song even more valuable than I had thought! Is there any chance to find the right syllables/hieroglyphes for it? (Already googled, of course in vain...)

Rejoice, because Kojima confirmed that work on ZOE3 has already begun.
I know kojima directed this game like he did the MGS series...my question is does this series suck you in like MGS does or is it just another mech game?
