Genius! I literally just asked my kids if they wanted our old games for their families because I hate the look of them and the space they take. I had planned on taking the rest to the thrift store. You absolutely changed my mind. You have mad skills girl! Thank you!
I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a RUclips video, but this is the absolute best idea and execution I’ve ever seen! You did an amazing job! It’s certainly aspirational for me 😅
Thank you for sharing! I have a closet full of games that are under used because they’re out of sight, out of mind. This is so smart and so pretty!! Definitely going to give it a try.
This is going to be my new obsession lol. Like you I have some of the vintage bookshelf collection and I love them. I'm definitely going to start doing this with my other games
Did you make a clasp/close feature? I figured the book boxes that are standing up like a real book would open up easily and all the game pieces would fall out. I love how they all turned out. I’ve had this idea but do it with wood boxes.
so glad i watched this - i’ve been watching and obsessing over this project via your tiktoks but this video was so perfect and i love your personality, you remind me of zooey deschanel!! thanks for your generous creativity ❤
This is SO genius! Literally love this so much and it’s making me want to do it cause I agree - all the different shapes and sizes are so just hard to stack and store 🙈 these are beautiful and appreciate your sharing! 🧡
oh good! Let me know if you have questions. I have some videos that dive deeper into each step. There's a playlist on my profile for the board game books
I love this idea so much! I enjoyed watching the process, but the audio was so low on this video, just wanted to bring that to your attention. Best of luck for future projects! This was so creative!
Thank you! I appreciate it! I've bought a microphone so my new videos are better audio quality. I'll be doing a series soon where I break this project into smaller steps with more details so keep an eye out for those!
Every Christmas we do a need, want, wear, read gift. This may be my Read contribution. What size book did you use for Hungry Hungry HIppos? It takes us so much space.
Wow I loved this video and your execution on creating beautiful cases. I have a few vintage bookshelf boardgames, but my Clue game is just a plain gray case. Where did you get yours??
do you have an etsy page or a way to order the cricut "stickers" (sorry for my lack of cricut lingo :P) I dont have one but planning to make these books! they are so lovely
I had such a HARD time cutting my first board down for this! Any tips? It’s still functional when I lay it flat but I feel like I shhhhrredded the board game trying to cut it. It’s like you have to keep the ruler in the exact same spot until you are done cutting, if you lift the ruler to see how far your cutting progress is going then you’ve basically shot any chance of getting a clean cut. And it doesn’t fold once cut because there is no space between the cuts for where the board folds over on itself. Help 😭
Cutting the board games is a pain! I am planning a longer video with my tips on it. I like using a drafting ruler because it has a T and keeps the ruler in one place. Some boards like Pictionary was small enough that I didn't have to cut it. With Sequence I only had to trim a bit on the edges to get it to fit. I've also been buying the Vintage Bookshelf editions for anything with a board game so I don't have to cut them. Here's where you can buy those- amzn.to/3SI4DiF
These are so cute!! I really love your idea and execution 💓💞 (one suggestion, maybe slow down with your explanation- you're speaking speed is so fast and I struggled a bit to keep up- had to slow down the playback lol- I talk fast too, I just think for videos it would be smart to slow down a bit)
Thank you- I appreciate your feedback. I'm going to start a series where I take each step and do a detailed explanation. I'll make sure to go nice and slow!

These are beautiful! I think this is the best idea for board game storage I've ever seen! Love it! Well done lady!
This is going to be my new obsession lol. Like you I have some of the vintage bookshelf collection and I love them. I'm definitely going to start doing this with my other games
This was so aesthetically pleasing! Love it so much!

The boxes have a magnetic closure so that’s really nice! A wood box would be great too! These are wood with a linen cover
Omg!! It NEVER crossed my mind to this 😂 so clever! Thank you for sharing 💙💙💙💙

I love this idea!!! I can't wait to delve into this project a bit deeper!

@@AtHomewithAshley I watched the 10 minute video, and the 0:16 video, is there another one?
@@fpwest1526 here’s a link to the playlist. There’s 7 videos on there 🙌🏻 ruclips.net/p/PLVuHHvbZgqNxJXBh7IYW97dEuaPjpLXqz&si=rBmetBh0gUvFZlrI
These are so beautiful!! I need to do something like that
Wow this is such a great idea! It turned out beautifully! ❤
Thank you! I'm so glad my idea actually worked!
Please share a link of where you bought the white books so we can get started. Such a fun idea! Can't wait to do it with my girls.
That is so friggin cute!!! I'm obsessed
Can you do a tutorial on cutting the game boards? Maybe a pdf? ❤
Oh yes this would be amazing
Where did you find the boxes? Great idea!
This is so good! Thank you for sharing ❤️
I can't wait to have a go making some

Wow, so pretty! 😍😍
What a clever idea!
This is such a great idea, I’m definitely going to give this a go! I don’t have a cricut though… any suggestions for an alternative option? ❤
Fabric paint for the linen books, and acrylic for the paper mache, is the route I'm planning to take. it won't be as clean, but I'm okay with that.
you should see if your library has a Cricut! I've also seen people ask friends if they have one they can borrow
I absolutely love this idea and plan to do it with my board games too! Begone ugly boxes that dont fit on the shelves properly!!
What about Operation? That one is so big. Did you find a solution for that one?
This is amazing! ❤
do you have an etsy page or a way to order the cricut "stickers" (sorry for my lack of cricut lingo :P) I dont have one but planning to make these books! they are so lovely
Yes I do! They're available as a free download on my blog! athomewithashley.com/turn-board-games-to-display-books/
I love this thank you so much for sharing
Great idea!!! ❤
So cute!
Do the cards and other small pieces fall out of the box when you stand them up??
No- the boxes have a strong magnet on them so they stay closed.
would it be possible to achieve this diy with only a mini Cricut??
Maybe not the bigger book boxes. But you could just make the labels smaller on those than what I did.
This is brilliant and so beautiful 😍
oh thank you Laura! I really appreciate that!
Love this idea thnx for sharing ❤
Love your video. Im going to try this idea. Do you uave any cool ideas for lego storage but looks beautiful on the shelf?
I recently did this project that I think will be helpful! ruclips.net/video/WUHdMi8_mpo/видео.html

I know I’m not the creator but you need a super sharp blade. Change it before cutting the board and you might be able to cut the board in one pass. ❤

I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love these but can't access the designs in the cricut design space
I’m sorry! I’m frustrated by this too. Cricut isn’t letting it be accessed for some reason. I have them available as a free download on my blog though
These are so cute!! I really love your idea and execution 💓💞
