Anytime I ever heard the old V12 on BMWs I thought they sounded horrible, even with an exhaust setup they never really produced the right *noise*. This does it for sure. Genius!
@@ana77110 the main reason why the bmw m70 and m73 does not sound good even with the exhaust is because of the design of the cylinder head and the exhaust design which does not allow for much air flow like a dual overhead cam v12 found in another car. If the cylinder heads and the engine in general were designed with performance and symphony in mind, there will be a tangible difference.
Add 5 to 7 % Stahl to the torque converter and it will sound and launch like a different car, add a Lsd 3:91 and you will be alot more in love... They compliment each other hugely and the new found torque sings right out the exhaust 🥂
Yes, they have that characteristic starter sound, it's amazing. BMW, Mercedes, even the W12 from Audi. It's quite different from the smaller engines and adds up to the exotic nature of the 12-cylinder engines, IMO. :) Not sure if all of them are like that, but at least the Germans do it this way. :P
@@Roddy_Zeh The unique V12 startup sound is actually from the 12 cylinders rapidly compressing in sequence. There are so many rapid pulses during startup due to the number of cylinders that instead of hearing individual pulses like in smaller engines, the sound is just an even tone.
wow, I can't believe the M73 is so much livelier than the stock M70. I couldn't spin my Michellin PSS3's on oil soaked concrete, I bet (which means I don't burn through tires, I guess). wow nice power to the rear wheels
Hastrup081290 Yes, only the back boxes from the 599. They fit without modification, only upside down (left muffler goes on the right, right muffler on the left).
Hastrup081290 The back boxes and the pipes that they come with are unmodified, but you do need custom piping to connect those back boxes to the headers. As in, you could remove those mufflers and reinstall them in a 599. The valves are permanently open.
With m30 valve train components and cams it might sound almost identical. The idle and rev sounds amazing, under hard acceleration you can hear the baby smooth cams.
Whoever decided to do this is a genius unlike any I have ever know.
This is a beautiful thing. Came here from bimmerforums
The idea for the Ferrari exhaust is genius, but revving out a cold engine… not so much.

Because for the sound to come good you have to build or get the proper headers for the engine to sound like a f1
X pipe or y pipe to merge both banks is necessary to sound like a V12, instead of two straight sixes.

V10 e60 sounds 100000times better

No pops and bangs, just a clean rythm.
Of course the exhaust, but i also love the ignition sound on this thing

@@Roddy_Zeh all 12 cylinder or more (bugatti) engines do that on start up
@@aryapradhanad186 Yes, and I love that. I guess it's what they call high-torque starter?

Wow my E32 don't sound this good.Insane.🤘
The closest thing i can get to the Mclaren F1. Instant dream car.
I always thought the exhaust was a big part of what made that Ferrari sound so unique.
The front end on those 8 series are the absolute best. Just locally (Scottsdale) i've seen 2 850 Csi's & 2 or more 840 Ci's.
Beautiful cars.
Greetings colleague. Great sound, became aggressive, a metallic sound. Congratulations on your daring.
Sounds like a lower revving Aventador
Wow whoever thought to do this and put the time in is a legend
Such a clean sound. I love it
Beautiful car and the sound is awesome. I love the color and wheel combo.
this engine sounds like the meanest v8 when idling. but sounds like a godly v12 when screaming
And this is why this car has been my dream for years
Well done, sounds amazing! Please upload more videos of this beauty
Man, well done...just well done *claps slowly while standing*
Oh my god this is freaking gorgeous
sounds really good. I like it a lot
The video you made is incredible. We've been listening to it for hours.WOW 12 cylinder noise. My E32 is no match in the sound department.
Amazing sound, perfect choice.
Best one I’ve ever came across
Bravo! Bene! Now all your missing is the famous koenig bodykit! Magnifico!!
this is my dream build thank you for this vid and for literally explaining everything
Omg. This is awesome!
You're a genius for doing this lol
Friend, you inspire me, I am determined to put these exhaust on my bmw 850ci. If I have questions, I will come to you, okay?
Sure! Have you checked out the write up about this exhaust and how the idea came to be? The link is in the description.

Also due to the 5hp30 5speed auto with shorter gears, namely much shorter first gear.
deeper sounds better than rattling ones
Mark my words, this is what I'll do in the future!
You gotta find an 850 Ci for sale (In India, where I assume you are located). The askin price is just unreasonable AF
Same, I want to do this to a e38 750il with a custom header 12-4-1 with Ferrari muffler . This vid made my day .
1:45 i had my headphones on max and that just ended my ears 😂
Holy moly 🤩
OF COURSE BMW❤❤❤
Love it
Nice recipe! Yum...
Greetings, are you running stock cat converters or have they been deleted?
Genius!
Which part of the exhaust is from the 599?
How much of the exhaust is from a 599? Only the backboxes? What modifications did you have to make?

Top!
Hi, was wondering what kind of cats you’re running? If you don’t mind sharing. thanks a lot!
I saw your write up on the exhaust and noticed you have aftermarket cats but could not tell from the pictures.
"Is the sound coming from a V12 5.0 or a V12 5.4?"
It’s the 5.4
@@173080 thanks :)
only 43k miles on that 850 ...wow
Are the headers stock?
@@Person-cv9dj Yes, the headers are stock
this should have sounded straight from the factory then🥰🥰🥰
That must have taken some work
Sounds great..personally think Eismann sounds even better on a e31
What is eismann?
Kinda sounds like the F1
is this legal pls ?
what the heck is wrong with these gauges ????
O kurwa! :O
Sold😂 I think 13 to 35 grand for the car plus $8,000 to 10,000 for one of these exhausts is a much better deal than a 40 million McLaren F1.
With m30 valve train components and cams it might sound almost identical. The idle and rev sounds amazing, under hard acceleration you can hear the baby smooth cams.
It sounds like a Lamborghini aventador to me.
8 from 10 pounds ✌🏻
Maybe John Deer, but no V12 :-(
Sounded low revving Aventador
You shouldn't have tell the secret or truth behind such melody, peeps nowdays don't use their brains but only copy-paste!!
To me it sounds horrible, freaky screaming exhaust. ENGL Exhausts sound is more massiv and powerful.
Still sounds like shit :(
What color is your 850?

Have a listen to the angry starter motor they need just to fire that big v12 up
