- I used artificial intelligence to recover some ancient faces from traditional Chinese paintings & artworks!~

I also used DAIN and Topaz Lab for interpolating and upscaling the AI results.

I love this, I’m all for the idea of restoring the faces of the people and being able to hear the words and thoughts of past ancient people

The fact that the ai generated faces look as detailed as they do after the fact is testament to the talent of the sculptors of the terracotta warriors.
This is just so amazing, the style transfer from art to "photo" translates see well!

@@slavish_superiority There is no such thing as "authentic Chinese pronunciation", you can search "Phonetic Change of Chinese" to learn how Chinese phonetics has changed over the millennia, the official Mandarin is indeed following the Mongolianized pronunciation of Northern China, but there are still a lot of non-Mongolianized dialects in Southern China
so moved by these moving images, Thanks to the AI technology.

Basically we can't trust most of the paintings drawn before Ming dynasty China unless the artists really did witness the characters, for example, based on history record, the emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty and the early Ming Dynasty's top strategist Liu Bowen, had curly beards, but their portraits all ended up showing some very typical Asian style fumanchu facial hair styles, because they were typically drawn by painters from the next dynasty.
This is AMAZING. But you should've used the long-ass-face version of Hongwu Emperor hahahahha

这兵马俑头像的复原有些遗憾，最大的区别是在眼部，少了许多犀利的气魄。原像的颧骨高耸，眼角上扬，更接近于蒙古人种，复原后的人像眼角稍微下垂，眼睛也变得更大了一些，显得凡庸。另一个是嘴唇，原像的嘴唇更薄而平直，更为坚毅，而复原像就多了些厚度，显得更为世俗情绪。重新省视兵马俑，不得不让人惊叹古代工匠们的细微入致的观察力和卓绝的写实造型技艺，二千多年后仍然可以让人感受到秦朝兵士的坚毅果敢的雄风。

@@letisriva8581 兵马俑长啥样都有，因为兵源除了北方地区的，至少也有三分之一来自南方的荆楚跟巴蜀之地。他选的这个弓兵俑长得略挫，兵马俑也有很多帅的，一般那些军官俑就比较魁伟周正，胡须也留得很讲究。

本族汉人的男性都很像，女人不像，中国古代对女性不是这个审美，更不会这么画。新疆人完全不像，和田地区维族是葛逻禄人、回鹘人和喀喇汗国时代居民后裔，与中亚费尔干纳盆地人更接近，这样貌不沾边
古人作画 百分之90都是意象画风 你技术重合复活的再像也没用 也不是真人真实容貌
总体来讲明代开始比较偏写实画风了，明代之前看谁画的，也有一些比较写实的，但必须得是同时代人画的，如果是非同时代人画的那基本纯扯淡因为连本人都绝对没看到过，比如维基百科里那些三国人物的画像用的很多都是清代民间画家乱画的“古代Q版漫画”，实在可笑。
