Hey. Thank you. Not sure about mac users. My guess would be that the files would be in a similar path. so if for Windows: \Users\\Documents\maya\ for Mac OS X: /Users//Library/Preferences/Autodesk/maya/ I'm not sure though as I can't test it. I hope that helps. Good luck! :)
The answer is in the video. I don't know how to explain further. Be careful, .mb files can't be cleaned with Notepad because the code is in binary (M-aya B-inary) so 1s and 0s. I hope that helps.
Does anyone know if this virus is malicious? What's the worst thing that it does to a file? A lot of my files are infected...and I mean A LOT of them. Great vid BTW!
Hey Cameron. Thank you! As far as I know this just infects your files and computer with creating the extra files I mention in the video. You also get the strange warning when saving the file. Personally, I managed to save all my work with no issues. One of my students mentioned that they couldn't save the file until deleting the virus. So... I think it kind of malicious. :D Good luck!
@@KZanim so i had this virus for a while now, probably like a semester and a half.. just realized i thought it was just an error, i have the same problem as Cameron, but i can save files just fine. should i leave them as it is? i have deleted the created files by the virus. great video btw.
@@efemji Hey! As far as I know the files will be recreated everytime you open an infected file. If you're sharing files, you spread the virus further. Now what you choose to do with your files is up to you! :D If they're too many to handle I would just clean each file before opening them with the text editor. Alternatively, if you can afford it, maybe look into the paid script I mentioned. Good luck!

how to delete the coding virus ? using what ? and also can you give the tutorial on how to delete tthe Virus:Python/Vaccworm!MTB in laptop if you can :} im using window 11/10 and i do not know how to open the file with the coding system
I am not sure I understand. Virus:Python/Vaccworm!MTB? I never had those issues so unfortunately I can't help. (if by "coding virus" and "using what" you mean, how to follow the video, you can open the "code" part of the files with a text editor.) Good luck!
Hey Yash. I'm not sure why/when/how this happens and it's hard to tell without looking at the file. I'm guessing that this happens when you try to open something like image sequence - image plane. Two things you could try that I can think of now. 1. it could be a size issue. So you might have to scale your images down to a reasonable resolution. 2. Make sure that the Frame offset is set to 0 - So may is looking for the right image at the "right path". Hope that helps. Good luck!
No it wasn't! I demonstrated it on 4:52. If you still get the warning it means your file is still infected. Some clarification: - Make sure you have Maya closed before you start deleting the vaccine generated files (vaccine.py and vaccine.pyc) as well as cleaning the userSetup because they are created again if Maya is running. - Make sure you try the second way of cleaning the files. Even if it is .ma file. This way you can see if there's "breed" and "vaccine" gene nodes in the scene without dealing with code. - As I mentioned briefly at the end of the video around 6:23.. It's common to oversee that even if you clean your file, if you have a reference in the scene that is infected then everything ends up spreading again. In case this doesn't work either, perhaps you can install the security tools and test which scene is compromised. I hope that's helpful!
