This bird has the widest vocabulary I've ever seen in parrots ...Its incredible
Raised by humans, he doesn't know parrot sounds. He only knows human sounds which he replicates. Any meaning is accidental.
@@tyc1Z.Z1 Uh no lol. It’s not accidental. They use words and phrases they repeat/learn/sounds in context to communicate.
@@tyc1Z.Z1 parrots can associate words with something, they are smart, its not coincidental (they may not have a full understanding to have a convo tho)

Me to my absolutely favorite time he says it is when someone has emptied the trash. They shake out the next bag before putting it in the can and he says GD! Like he had been putting up with this all day. Now I hear him say that every time I shake a bag out. 😂🤣😂

The middle of this video has me in tears! Thank you for rescuing Gizmo and giving him a life and a family that he deserves. He is so lucky to have a mom and dad like you. Far too many people get birds not understanding the commitment that comes along with them. They are incredibly social and loyal animals and can die from heartbreak id they aren’t loved and cared for properly. Gizmo is proof that every bird can be loving, smart and well behaved when they are given the proper care, love and loyalty they deserve instead of being locked in a cage all day every day. ❤️🙏🏻❤️

Amazingly detailed mimickery. I hear an elderly couple which I presume was the previous owners, and even proof that their son paid his old folks regular visits.
He is so clever!! He seems to understand the meaning of the words he uses, because he puts them in the right place... He makes jokes and even laughs!! It is obvious that he understands he has just made a joke... '-You are so funny!!.' 'Sorry, I can`t help it" hahahahaha From Spain, all my best wishes for all your family, Gizmo included.

Just so incredible that after 16 years of captivity Gizmo could still learn to trust humans and start talking with them. What an amazing animal! And yeah - just mind blowing how comprehensible he talks! He just sends me reeling with laughter 🤣🤣 Thank you for taking all the work to share with us: It really means so much to me and makes our days so much better because Gizmo is making us laugh and believe that the world can be as wonderful as he is!
I have been given an african grey, 20+ years in a cage. No one wanted him because he has aggresive tendencies and chews up household when let out and bites. I myself enjoy him immensly being retired. He does up-up. Likes to sit on my arm and go for walks(chews on my hoodie zipper). Has learned a couple of words. Likes to go on my bed and prance around. He has saved me.
Had a gray for thirty five years. Miss him dearly.

I just saw him fly! He does fly, maybe not well but he definitely has the muscles to fly and build up the strength. At 5:19 he’s definitely flying and knows how. He will one day soar. Whatever vet told you he would never be able to needs to be replaced.

Aw Gizmo's story is so heartbreaking everytime I hear about it I shed a few tears. Thank God such nice caring people such as you and your family came along when you did.

I laugh my head off as some of tbe things he comes out with, he is a wonderful tonic if I am feeling down, I watch a bit if Gizzy and I feel miles better. He really puts a smile on my face.

My sister used to work at an animal hospital in Los Angeles. They had an African gray in the office every day. He was owned by the veterinarian. My sister worked the front desk collecting payment and such for services rendered but she said the parrot used to say “pay your effing bill“ over and over...😁♥️🙏
Thank goodness the clients had a great sense of humor, and people loved it😆

Aww this is so cute. My parents also have a foster parrot they ended up adopting that bird doesn't have a wide vocabulary as Gizmo does but he always copies the sound the dogs make. Like he would bark and howl then say stranger when someone comes in with the exception of my mom. He loves her.
