    Lol I give you props for not mentioning how hard and annoying it was to re-install the dust boot under the car at the linage, I spent a solid 15-20 minutes trynna put that shit back on! I also installed mine today, holy hell it’s TIGHT!

      Lol mine actually slipped right on for me man I had no issues but I've heard many people say it was a real issue for them 👍

    I put my torque solution shifter in my Z last weekend. It is very tight right now. I'm glad to hear that it'll loosen up. I hope itll fix that annoying second gear grind while racing.

    I did mine around the same time. I haven't had any problem with reverse at all. The only issue I've had is just getting used to the space in between 4th and 5th. With the bottom of the shifter being longer to change the fulcrum point, the space between 4th and 5th is wider. When I shift, my arm kind of reverts back to the feel of the stock shifter and I miss. Thats a me problem though. Only other issue is my shifter knob rattles bad at high rpms. Not really an issue. Overall I'm happy with it.
    Edit- now that I'm thinking about it, I never really had a break in period like you described. Just getting use to the feel was all I had.

    When you going to let us see you race, burnouts, donuts something? Regardless.. Lol of what it is I think your videos have been great but it would be awesome to see a little more driving content and see what you're hard works turned that thing into. Just an idea

    That was a really good review. I was looking at doing this to my Z as well for the same reasons. I may have to rethink it now. do you think there's a way to pre polish and grease those bushings before you put it all together and get rid of that break-in period and hard shifting in the cold?

      I had recently had purchased and installed this short shifter on my 05 350z and i have had a real stiff almost notchy feel to it ever since i put it in, no grinding or anything like that just not clean shift feel. Is there some sort of break in period for all the new parts?

    • @TALONATER
      @TALONATER  5 лет назад +1

      Same here very stiff at first but i found a couple weeks to a month down the road and it got much much better 👍

      @@TALONATER thanks for the reply. Checked the work and everything seems fine. I'm wondering that since I have a JWT light weight flywheel on, it might be the source of the rattle in the shifter. Might go back to installing a heavier one again. I'm also going to check my transmission mounts. They never been changed. Always enjoy following your videos. Your videos make owning a z alot of fun.

    • @TALONATER

      Thanks bro I appreciate it and just so you know I have the JW T lightweight flywheel as well and no rattling bro I'm telling you it may not be your current work on the shifter but check those mounts something's not right it should not be rattling man don't get rid of it because of the rattling fix it bro I'm telling you something's wrong

    I always thought short shifters were cool. My buddy had a 95 240 ka turboed. He has a short shifter. That thing was weird lol. I think stock would be better. It's easier to drive. Lol
