- The ESPY Awards has faced backlash in the US after nominating Prince Harry for the Pat Tillman Award for Service.
It was announced on Thursday that Prince Harry was chosen as an honoree of the 2024 ESPY Awards.
The 39-year-old is reportedly one of three recipients of the Pat Tillman Award for Service, with the award ceremony being held on July 11 and hosted by US tennis legend Serena Williams.
The award, named after former NFL player and US Army Ranger Pat Tillman, recognises those who have made significant contributions to the world.
News Corp Columnist Angela Mollard joined Sky News host Caroline Di Russo to discuss the criticism over Harry receiving the prestigious award.
This award should go to an American hero, not a traitor and grifter.
It should at least go to a hero and not a former 'prince' who has been phishing for handouts since leaving his life of privilege

Pat Tillman's mother Mary has spoken out and is upset that Henry is getting the award named for her son. She feels Harry is very underserving of receiving the award and wondered why she & her family were not consulted in the decision process!

For one thing, all Harry does for Invictus is show up a few times a year, on the Games' dime (transportation, hotel, and Megan's wardrobe paid for, while I believe the veterans have to pay to participate), and turn it into the Megan and Harry Dog And Pony Show. And why is ESPY giving an award to someone representing a UK event...why aren't they giving it to someone representing The Warrior Games (who Harry got the idea from in the first place). No, Harry didn't create the Invictus Games. Pat Tillman was brave, had integrity and honor and loved his country. He literally gave everything for our country while Harry has done nothing but take, take, take and complain that it's still not enough. I suppose having friends in high places, like say Serena Williams who is on the voting board does indeed come in handy, huh?

The people that confirmed Harry for this award only had to look at the first Invictus games to see that ..they were ALL involved. Harry did NOT start Invictus.

Get your facts correct. Harry did not organize the IG. On the IG website it states that the games were founded by The Royal Foundation which included the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Harry in co-operation withe MOD and the organizers of the 2012 Olympic games. William donated nearly a million pounds to the games from his settlement of the phone hacking lawsuit. After the Royal foundation split up, Harry wanted to keep on being the patron of the Invictus games . He is really just face of the games. The last few games have been less about the wounded warriors and more about luxury digs and Megan's expansive, expensive wardrobe
