+Itzzwan You should see him practice/the hours he works. his incredible work ethic and how long he's been doing it (almost since he was a preteen) is what makes him who he is. I think most people would refuse to call it talent, since of how much he's practiced.
Fun fact, Madeon him self is editing the background as he goes. If you pay attention very carefully; his button presses are mostly in time with the background, not the music.
@Nadisan the only memorable thing MG has made recently was Follow and even then that was mostly Zedd’s style. I’d still take Madeon for the live only stuff and the productions he does
@Nadisan Every song you just listed are like... the most basic Top 100 Mainstage songs EVER. I'll admit when I say that both of them suck in terms of modern music today, but when Zedd does EDM he makes it more creative than anything else today. You can literally find any song on the Bass House and Mainstage charts on Beatport that sound exactly like MG
Gerda Pleša He stopped school cause he realized his passion for music and things were just falling apart at school. He was not being kicked out my friend XD
You can see a lot of the same energy in anything with Julian Casablancas. Human Sadness feels like it encapsulates a lot of the same emotions I get from all of Daft Punks discography. The song Oblivious by the strokes also has a lick that's pretty much the synth guitar part before the drop on Aerodynamic. Also by the strokes At the Door always had a very big Discovery vibe to it. Then I saw the music video and it confirmed that for me even more. Not disagreeing with you that Hugo is talented and was def inspired by them, but I feel like it's similar to Radiohead. You can see the influences weave through a lot of artists.
3:18 gets me everytime. It's genius like Madeon that keeps passion and talent in the Electronic Music Industry. I'll never stop seeing him as inspiration to help drive my passion for making music. Maybe one day, I can influence people even just a fraction of how he does. Mad respect.
Such a perfect vid! It's clear Madeon has amazing skill but big up to the editor of the video too...really slick visual to match the music! And the tracklist is really helpful throughout!
I used to think so too after watching pop culture. But if you look closely in the video he`s just pretending to turn knobs. Also since all the songs have already been sampled there`s not much need for manipulation. Not denying he`s one of the best DJs I know and the boy single-handedly created a new genre. But almost all except faders and compressors shit he does here is fake, which I don't understand as Madeon is hella cool why would he pretend
@@sandmanlance6497 um no. He's doing the low pass and high pass thingy. There's actually very little difference because he's turning the knobs just a little. TL;DR you're jealous
@@italyisntreal of course I'm jealous he's one of the greatest producer imo. Now go look at 2:33, he touches the knobs a lot but doesn't change them most of the time. Also the transition is at most on 3 channels yet he is changing the knobs at all 4 channels in his allen and heath controller. If you want I can elaborate further as to why he's pretend pushing buttons half the time.
You know... I've been supersticious when it comes to dj's as to if it's really just a guy pushing "play" on a pre-recorded track. But seing Madeon here, made me open my eyes. This is truly a musician and an artist at work, putting in emotion and storytelling in this short but sweet performance. I bow to the all the great dj's out there!
So much young talent in the EDM world right now. Madeon, Joey Dale, Julian Calor, Julian Jordan, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, Will Sparks, Thomas Newson.... Who did I miss?
I love that they show what song plays at which point. They could of just put all the songs at the end, but they went out of their way to do this. Then people won't have to go through all the songs to find the one they really like.
The knobs adjust the volume of the tracks. This is more than likely pre-recorded, but volume adjustment is standard fare for any DJ looking to achieve the certain effect they're going for. That, and you don't exactly want a layer of sound overpowering another.
for those who think this is too difficult for ordinary people to do while it comes across with such ease from madeon: i like to compare this to high level piano playing. after 100s of hours of practice, a decent pianist could play the most difficult pieces by heart and seemingly with ease, but for those who spectate, its like something impossible. i played some liszt pieces and they are really difficult and fast. but i can do that while my friends don't. they think i am a god but i am ordinary. my skill level is slightly above average. madeon is still different though. he does what he does professionally. i am sure there are a lot of people who could use his pads better than maedeon himself but madeon stands out in many other ways too, and he didn't come short practising. :) practising can bring you far but for the top , you will need talent. on the other hand - talent will bring you nowhere without hard practising.

Funky Panda™ Never see this everyday.

Holy shit! The Pixel Empire/Innocence/Technicolor-part, right here, is literally the most beautiful thing I've ever heard from a live mix.
You mean innocence. I agree though, amazing stuff.
Yeah, Innocence of course. lmao
Kasper Sveinsson I guess they sound similar.

This, right here is the future of electronic music. Not Martin Garrix or other kid from Spinnin Records. Pure gold!!!
Juan Daniel Pichardo Peña exactly right
Amen
fuckin true even in 2023 madeon has evolved into a new genre distinctive from all the so called edm genre like garrix and hardwell etc

He's amazing! Adventure is such a great album, I need to listen his sencond album asap. Shelter with Porter was just a masterpiece.
Madeon is so amazingly talented!
Really awesome editing btw, good job whoever did this!
What's even better compared to his early mini mix : This is COMPLETELY improvised ! Pure talent !
Snag impossible

Talented for real
he and Porter are just amazing!
Watching this nearly a year later, and still losing it when he plays La Lune overtop Scylla. Madeon is amazing.
especially innocence part wow
Wow! This shows just how talented Madeon is and how much time and effort he spent on his album.
Keep up the good work Hugo!
