  • Sabbath school lesson 2024 on ‘The War Behind All Wars’-Lesson 1 Q2. We have an exciting second quarter of Bible studies starting this week on the theme of The Great Controversy. During the second Quarter of 2024, we will explore the central issues of the conflict between Christ and Satan in a series of 13 Bible studies from April to June 2024.
    The great controversy began in heaven with Lucifer’s rebellion against God. At the heart of this cosmic conflict is the issue of God’s love. This quarter will trace the major developments in the great controversy, beginning with the rebellion in heaven.
    In our first study in our series on The Great Controversy, we will address the following questions:
    Why do we have to wrestle with the concept and reality of good versus evil everywhere in the world? Did it have to be like that and why? Why is there a Devil when he is the source of humanity’s sufferings and where does he come from? If God created Lucifer, would that not mean that God is responsible for all the evil the Devil is doing on earth? What do we know about the end of Evil?
    “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer” (Revelation 12:7, 8, NKJV).

    I always ask myself this question, why? But I have learned that the reason is that God wanted us to have freedom to live rightly not because He , God said so , but that we want to do so. I am still not able to articulate it well maybe because I still dont't understand it well.

      Hi Lynette, this is a question that so many have and it is right to ask it. I believe you have understood it. There is also the fact that there is a bigger picture that we do not necessarily openly discuss since it takes us further in the reflection. Blessings to you as you continue to ponder the word and thanks for studying with TBP.

    Explain why the lamentation for the King of Tyre refers to the second person, "You were?" Who was the King of Tyre, or is this metaphorical?

    • @TheBiblicalPerspective
      @TheBiblicalPerspective  3 месяца назад

      Hi Patricia, and welcome to TBP. The passage in question seems to have a double application. One to the historical king of Tyre in the North of Israel, the other to a being whose description through the choice of words would apply to another being. The personal pronoun 'you' indicate a direct speech to the individual whether historical or symbolic. I hope this helps. Blessings.
