ABE VIGODA, was a character from the TV show "BARNEY MILLER". He played the detective named "Fish". The year after this tour, they moved to Los Angeles, and eventually bought their own building for a studio. THAT BUILDING was the set for the show Barney Miller. They recorded their next 3 albums plus at G-Son studios and kept as much of the show set original. They love 70s movies, tv shows, and other cultural things we grew up with in the 70s. This is why their videos sometimes show them acting out 70s movie scenarios, and or shooting their videos in the parking lot, back stairs, and roof of the studio, and the hotel next door.
I was a senior in high school when this came out. The amount of times we ran around yelling "You know I got rhymes like Abe Vigoda!" to confused teachers in the hall. Oh man, good times.
pro tip: use that internet thing to pull up the lyrics to the song before you start and then read along--especially with the beastie boys this will help you cope with the barrage of references and wordplay.
The theme of fkn women pretty much is this album for the most part. They grew up. Their art grew up. As much as we like Licsened to Ill, they only got better after this..

I was 17 when this came out. My school was BUMPING when this came out!
I think the dance you are thinking of is "The running man". This album was so awesome in 1986-87. The first rap album to go nationwide, and worldwide.

If you want to see people dance to this the Beasties performed this one on the tv show “Soul Train”. Plenty on dancing there.
