It's amazing how much effort and detail Blizzard puts into things that players are never supposed to see or find. I mean the actual instance in which you're supposed to play is like 1% of the size of the entire instance zone.
It's mostly just copy-paste
They just cut out a square and made all snow i dragonblight dark. Removed the NPCs and water in some places and thoght it was enogh.
As others already say, it's just "copied". It isn't a lot of wasted data, since MMO maps are usually just a surface with coordinates for repeated structures and models. I learned this the hard way, when I wanted to make a video, using a map from a game, which had a lot of trees, despite only being around 10MB in size. It was the same few trees, just placed with X,Y,Z coordinates and rotation values, but saving the map as a different file, rendered each individual tree, suddenly blowing it up to several GB.
derbigpr500 it would literally be more work to remove this. Its already there. The effort was put in prior to 2012
@@DanielRenardAnimation That's called instancing, which saves memory AND gpu computation time since every tree is just a pointer to a static memory address.
I feel like the demon hunter class was designed for this sort of stuff...
And to be the best tank.... and dps... and can top healing ...

It would be cool if during the areas that are notably changed, you do a brief "picture in picture" video or screenshot of live, to show the contrast as you explore. Just an idea!
Hey dude, may I make a video request? How to escape from Hellfire Ramparts into the instanced version of Hellfire Peninsula? If you're in the area of Omor the Unscarred, you can see that his platform inside the dungeon is larger than the uninstanced 'outside' version. This means that Hellfire Citadel's model is different both inside and outside. I'd like to know what it looks like!

I may be mistaken, but I believe End Time is the future where Chromatus and the Twilight's Hammer has taken over the world, thanks to the meddling of Nozdormu-turned-Murazond. This is why Deathwing is impaled on the top of Wyrmrest temple; he was killed by the Chromatic DF.

I don’t understand how murazond could have defeated deathwing if it took all the dragon flights and hero’s to take him down. I thought it looked cool but didn’t make sense to me

I like to imagine one day, someone will be exploring these areas and suddenly come across some secret clickable door that was almost impossible to find. Entering the door would face you with who knows what secrets..but I often wonder if there is anything like that in the "glitch world"

My cousin and I did this a few years back, a little tip is that you can use the summoning stone for Azjol-Nerub to summon your friends inside :D

You know, this never made sense to me. Even if we failed to stop Deathwing at the Maelstrom, he wouldn't be here after the Hour of Twilight, he would have still been in the Maelstrom after his body literally tore itself apart. He wouldn't have had any legs or wings to fly there. Still, I do love the look of this, they did a lot of awesome work on it.
Also, I wonder if blizz sinking the unseen ships meant they had a different idea for this, like this would be a phased zone for us to quest in or something to that affect.
I believe that this is the timeline where we fail to recover the Dragon Soul in the Well of Eternity. Because of this, Thrall is never able to kill Deathwing and cause him to fall into the Maelstrom, and he's able to complete the Cataclysm unimpeded.
I kinda thought that too, but with the horde gunship sliced in half, that says to me that we made it out of Northrend. Hmm, maybe the Skyfire was downed by Warmaster Blackhorn.
Then again, blizz isn't known for their awesome continuity :P

So this is going to be kinda convoluted but hopefully understandable. Have you found any instance portals that lead to POPUULATED instances within any of your exploration in these zones? Like... Breaking out of an instance to exolore, say, vanilla era WPL with a functioning portal to a populated version of scholo? Portal within a portal, Instanceception style.

Just had a stupid idea but what if for the wow anniversary event; blizzard created a new instance that you and your friends can enter that has bits and parts from existing maps that are hidden or unused mashed together in one area; with signs or player-triggered voice lines (repeatable) that talk about what they are and why they were cut or where they're located.
Think of it as a developer map like TF2 has, where just for the anniversary, you can explore previously locked off content that boundry breaking would only show and give a glimpse of how world of warcraft is made to the player? It is a celebration of wow after all.

Can you use that stone to summon people to you? Or does it just not do anything?
I was able to click it, so I assume it works normally, but as there was nobody else there to help summon I can't say for sure that it works.
Meanwhile the instance boss and mobs are like: "Any moment now, they will be arriving ANY moment now...."

If the Portal Stone works you can troll a friend very good. For example he left the Stone and outside is the end of the world without any npcs and a bad weather
keep it up ive always wanted to explore these kind of areas but i never knew how and i dont own wow (also private servers for new exp come late and often arent good) subscribed a week after the first vid :D
Garoco all of these are from old expansions as the content usually needs to be soloable (often you need to kill a few of the bosses before you reach the escape location).
ye I know but but as i said the exp come late and i have to wait a lot of time to get started with the private server because i cannot afford it at this moment to buy wow and i dont have that much to invest in the game and thats why i mentioned private servers because there i can take all the time in the world. also i look for a good wow server (not looking forward to play wow at the moment just sayin) where most of the stuff is scripted properly so that i can experience the game as properly as possible and then do this stuff

heres a demon hunter related tip that im surprised you didnt use... if you use vengeful retreat and hit your wings at the right time you glide faster than usual... you could have hit dalaran that way as well... ill give this a try, good video

No, like under the intended area. Specifically under the building before you enter the fight area itself.
oob = out of bounds (if you didn't know)
Since these are instances you can't duel correct or is it outside of the no duel zone
I'm not sure since there wasn't anyone with me to test with, but I'd guess that you actually wouldn't be able to duel, as Dalaran seems to have the same restrictions as it has on live. I was even considered as in a rested area and able to insta-logout while in the city.
Hidden Azeroth that could also mean if you get outside of nax maybe it will allow you to duel

Since you are in the northrend version of Dalaran the name is Silverver Enclave not Greyfang
Next, Explore the zones outside of Zul'gurub.
East side has an empty version of Blasted Lands with no invisible walls

I went to dalaran myself here for something this video forgot. In dalaran you can use www.wowhead.com/item=43824/the-schools-of-arcane-magic-mastery
Obviously first dalaran is where you get it and can use it, it also works in new dalaran...in this dalaran you get a cast bar but it does nothing.

I'm waiting for classic to come out to do Vanilla explorations. I've been making sure that any explorations I do are done in the official WoW client with no external cheat protocols. Both because I do my best to respect the terms Blizzard has set out (even within the gray area of zone exploration) and because I want my viewers to be able to explore the areas for themselves without using any 3rd party software.
That being said, once wow Classic comes out, I'm greatly looking forward to exploring a few areas like the original unreachable Mount Hyjal.
I m not too sure what to answer to this statement. You acknowledge it yourself, this is already "illegal" (for some reason) to go there. Nothing really stop you from doing such thing. And beside, if it wasn t for the Legacy community, Wow vanilla would have taken another 5-10 years to be realised. Still enjoying your content, download Wow Cartograph 1.07 (i think) for some more vanilla data
I use michima tool on a private WOTLK server to explore old content areas :)..but yeah its a lot more fun going there on foot
