Learn Irish's video about Halloween 🎃: • Why Do Pumpkins Get Ca...
I hope you all have a lovely halloween, there's definitely a variety of words here to add to your vocabulary for this festive season 😅🎃👻
So snoigh puimcín, ith milseáin, féach ar scannáin uafáis agus fan slán!
Molly 🥰
Disclaimer: I may make mistakes with the language from time to time. I am not fluent nor a professional teacher.
Dia daoibh 😁👋🏻
So glad that you're enjoying the video 😊 I enjoyed making it 💚
I thought that I should share with you what I was afraid of when I was younger, seeing as you're all sharing with me 😊 so here goes!
- Hugo, the doll from a film called 'Dead of Night' 🥺🥺 He genuinely terrifies me. That film is also really scary in general, I recommend it (if you can handle it 😂)
- I have always been spooked by dolls and clowns.
- Also, two funny things that scared me, created from my own imagination 😂
1. I used to think that if I let my foot dangle off the bed at night that an evil gorilla (yes you read that right 😂) would snatch it from under my bed 😂
2. When I would turn off my light at night and then have to walk to my bed in darkness, I thought that if I didn't do it within 3 seconds, the Terminator would shoot me 😂😂😂 I can't explain either of them because I wasn't afraid of gorillas or the Terminator 😐
Really funny story, thanks for sharing 😀 thanks for the video (and btw new to the channel). 😊
Ha ha ,i would not walk on the the outside lines of floor tiling..the teacher used say i was crazy...you should see me when i went to Church, there were small tiles on the floor, lol
@@aliasghargondal3787 welcome 😊
@@jangowan5742 😂😂 me and my brother did something similar
That was fun. My scariest monster? Algebra!
hahaha I can relate 😅
I used to be an Irish when I was living in Berlin Germ. Was so funny, ços I'm Polish and the German girls didn't want to speak with me. I was going often to Irish Pub in Europa Center and few times happen that when I said I'm Polish the girls turn down and the friendship was over.
So I stop saying I'm Polish and start to say I'm Irish from Dublin and so on. I used to rent a flat in Berlin from the Germans during 1 and a half year as an Irish student.
Then, when I've visit England and say that story. The British said. Don't do it here in England. Hahahaha!
Nice classroom, but I don't think I will lern Irish today. It sounds like a Dutch for me.
Regards to all Irish.
@ميسر Of course it does-)))
😂
Chucky scared me as a kid. Not really a monster, but a killer doll.
Taibhse!!! As for my monster, i was pretty young when the killer clown thing happened. I saw an artical about it on my tablet and it freaked me out. Love your videos!
Molly, I have enjoyed every video you've posted! Please keep up the amazing work! Go raibh maith agat!
Bíodh Oíche Shamhna sona agaibh! 🎃 beimid ag suí amach ó na féilte i mbliana. Fan slán agus fan amach ó na damháin alla agus na tithe ciaptha. Bain taitneamh as an ngealach lán gorm.
Brialliant..I used love a band called Driocht from Kerry..and Joe n Maria from Donegal(heard the Bluebirds sing),lol..Stay motivated☺😍😜
Is breá liom na focail nua seo! Go raibh maith agat!
Agus Taibhse (fós anseo, LOL). And as far as a movie monster that creeped me out...I think I'm gonna have to go with either Samara from 'The Ring', or Kayako from "The Grudge", those both creeped me out. 😁
@@gotesy Tuigim Samara 😂 níor fhéach mé ar "The Grudge" fós 😳
I LIKE IRELAND TOO. YOU'RE THE BEST.
I wish all of Ireland was fluent in Gaelic. It would be amazing if you could speak Irish in every town and village and be understood.
Wow this is amazing! Thank you for keeping traditional Irish culture and language alive! I hope you and your boyfriend one day go on to have many lovely Irish children who will continue in your tradition of keeping Gaeilge alive! Though I am ethnically part Irish I'm terrible with languages, it's SO impressive how easily and fluently you speak Gaeilge! Sending you much love from New Zealand
GRMMA for representing Uladh!
I'm brazilian and decided to learn how to speak irish, probably because i'm sadistic IDK, but i'm really enjoying your videos
Bhí babóg olc an t- arracht níos measa ormsa nuair a bhí mé óg. Evil dolls scared me a lot when I was about 8 years old. Talking Tina on Twilight Zone still gives me the creeps!
You put hope and love in my heart, your amazing. Danke
Dia dhuit Molly! You proved that you are the best! This Halloween video really bowled me over! It's simply great! Even though I still love Halloween, as a child I loved dressing up as a "phantom(I loved this word a lot)" and play jokes on my friends! I learned quite a few words from this video of yours! Your pumpkins are really scary!😀. And I love Dane's videos, I make it a point to never miss his videos like I never miss your videos!
I really love Halloween and congrats for making such a wonderful and interesting video! Is breá liom Oíche Shamhna go mór agus tréaslaim as físeán iontach suimiúil a dhéanamh!
Míle Buíochas agus slán tamall!
haha 😂😂 is greannmhar é sin gur ghléas tú suas nuair a bhí tú óg agus gur chuir tú eagla ar do chairde!! Is brea liom sin 😅
nice to see a new teacher of the celtic or Gaelic language. Check out the stories of Tuatha De Danann, the original Avengers. When you learn you grow, well done.
This adorable girl just wont stop popping up in my recommended no matter what!
I like to learn Irish with you , , 👍👍😎😎
Taibhse!
I can't really remember if I was afraid of any monsters when I was a child, but I would go with the Alien from the Alien: Isolation game.
Watching from Azerbaijan. Love Ireland 🇮🇪❤ .Btw you are so pretty 😍
haha go raibh maith agat 😅
Go raibh maith agat for all of these words, pronunciations and meanings. ❤ Have a blessed Samhain/Oíche Shamhna.
Sorry about the lockdown- I wish you and Ireland the best. Tame go maith!
go raibh maith agat 😊 agus an rud chéanna duit!
My initial scariest monster was a clown. Such a deceiving character. Anyway love your work. I've been experiencing even more extraordinary circumstances upon stumbling into you last night where I just met this girl and she asked me what nationality I was and I bought up the fact I'm actually starting to learn the language of my ancestors. It's funny how one thing leads to another.
yeah clowns are 😳😳
Taibhse. I actually watsched until the end, it is a very interesting video, and I also took some notes 👍
I really love Halloween with all of its Gaelic origins, even though I live in a countrey where Halloween isn't callebrated much...
As a chiled I used to be affraid of dogs, even the little once 😂
go raibh maith agat, tá áthas orm gur bhain tú sult as 🥰 an maith leat madraí anois? 🐶
@ You're welcome, your channel is really good 👍
I love some of the dogs, the ones I find cute. but I sure am not afraid of dogs anymore 😊
I was really afraid of dogs, until I was grown.
You do this so well and just on time! Thank you😁
Best one yet! Very fun.
aw thank you 😁
She's perfect
Nílim cinnte faoi sin 😂😂 ach go raibh maith agat
@ you're welcome:)
I've always seen November as the first of winter and May as the last month. ;p
Great video :)
Did you know that people used to carve Jack o lanterns on turnips before pumpkins? They were more scarier than the pumpkin carved ones, believe me I know. I carved both pumpkins and turnips three Halloweens ago, and it was fun to have em' both at the same time, both traditional and contemporary. Try it out this year, Molly.
yes I did actually, that's why I mentioned Learn Irish's video 😊: ruclips.net/video/oI0w2Fd9X3o/видео.html
Taibhse. As to a monster I was afraid of when I was younger...mean ghosts, er, taibhse. Anyway, new-ish subscriber here, and wanted to thank you for your voice-overs when you correct yourself! :)
no problem 😊 welcome!
Giant tarantula from ‘Tarantula!’ Maith thu Molly!
😂 I can understand that
Ana-ghreannmhar! Maith thú!
The word for superstition sounds super similar to the Gàdhlig word for kitten (piseag).
Úlchabhan (owl) is a good Halloween word too, and one of my favouritea that I've learned so far. Still can't string together sentences though. :s
Taibhse! Great job!
go raibh maith agat 🥰
Question! in the Cranberries zong "Zombie" many people who have sung it in Irish, say something different than Zombai. something like Scantraithe? What is it and why? Thanks!
My heart is Irish as well.
💚🇮🇪
@ Hey I hope you and your family are safe .
I was afraid of monsters that looked a lot like Dr. Seuss creatures. And in real life I have always been afraid of wolves. And wasps and bees, but I mostly ignore them now.
I am Scottish, and I started learning Scottish Gaelic about two months ago. It is interesting to hear some Irish and compare the sounds and words. It is all Gaelic! Really it’s one language, I think. Ulster Irish must be kinda in the middle. Btw, cn always sounds like cr in Scottish Gaelic.
Happy Halloween!🎃
Interesting, in Spanish broomstick = escoba, cape = capa, it seems like there's common root for some words.
I’m saying it again!!! You should be on Derry Girls!
haha I would love to 😅
For some reason I was *terrified* of the monster from earnest scared stupid as a kid, it gave me recurring nightmares (or “tromluí”) I guess 😂
I don't know it and I don't want to look it up either 😳😂
Do you know an old Irish prayer for animals in English / Gaelic? I read that someone's Grandpa used to sing that.
Hey where about donegal are you i live in California but im a timoney I spend summers back home I used to skateboard in the diamond then get a pint in the Abby lol or get a pack of john player blues in quinlins
Taibhse!
taibhse :))
Dia duit!
Dia is Muire duit!
do you have any recommendations textbook-wise for learning irish?
HI, MOLLY, MY LOVELY GIRL, LOVE YOU.
Monstro. The whale that swallowed Pinocchio and his father.
Сlown = Babaja. Is Slavic Mithology there is Monster. His Name is Babay.
Is féidir liom a mholadh 1408 go ndearna scannán is mian liom a fanacht amach ó óstán nó an bunaidh 1922 scannán Nosferatu adh is clasaiceach (dála an scéil go bhfuil scannán beagnach céad bliain d'aois) in iúl dom más gá duit aon mholtaí níos mó
May I recommend 1408 that movie made me want to stay away from a hotel or the original 1922 silent Nosferatu film is a classic (by the way that movie is almost a hundred years old) let me know if you need any more suggestions
Also my monster that scared me was my aunt
@@insultigknightuscantstands4648 😂😂
Nosferatu - Ní maith liom é 😳😳
Taibhse. I was more scared of people than monsters. Collectively “bad guys.” Fir go donna? My parents may have gone a bit far in the be wary of strangers message.
fir dona/ fir olc 😊
I understand 😅 sometimes parents take it too far 😂
Killer Clowns? Nuair a bhios og, fado fado bhi eagla orm le sharks(agus taimse fos, go mor mor with big sharks)

Scariest monster was/is Sister Denise 3rd grade teacher !
😂😂
Can i ask what software you use to record and edit your videos?
I record with my phone and edit with iMovie 👍🏻
@ cheers, the edits are quite creative and funny (like the comedic zooms)
@@Jack-cx8tj ah go raibh maith agat 😁
@ Tá failte go leor romhat
hello there, I have a question about the Irish language.
Would you answer me ?
Taibhse
Dunno, I kinda dug monsters when I was a kid. Did not scare me. Dentists, tho...
😂😂
Taibhse. The Irish pronounce so many fewer consonants than the Gaidheals in Scotland.
Hi have you got Instagram
yes 😁 instagram.com/gaeilge_i_mo_chroi/ @gaeilge_i_mo_chroi
Halfway comment 'taibhse' if you're still here
I should just be patient, but I can't stand it anymore: What about "Samhain"?!
check out Learn Irish's video that I mentioned at the start 😊ruclips.net/video/oI0w2Fd9X3o/видео.html
Oo God...we used to say Nilim for no,and Seasim for. Yes,.or Taim,or Ta me...Still i love the Dialect..Gurra ma agut☺
Seriously, do NOT watch human centipede. Just don't. Don't make my mistake.
Damn straight .....don’t
don't worry imagining it was enough for me 😂
Ugh! Mo Dhia! My sister got me to watch the first one! I was traumatised!
@@brenainnmacthomais And yet somehow, they made sequel(s)!!!
My dad said not to watch it
I should’ve listened to him.....
Maith thú agus go raibh maith agat! Tá ceist agam. Why isn't Píce pronounced PEE-cha? Isn't a C surrounded by slender vowels supposed to be slender ch? Agus, bhí eagla orm roimh Freddy Kruger nuair a bhí mé óg.
Also, I thought I'd seen Mac Tíre for werewolf... maybe another word for it?
that ‘v’ and ‘z’ tho... ha ha
I was born in the States in 1976, so the most terrifying monster of my youth was Ronald Reagan.
😀👍👏😄
Some say he still haunts the US 😂
😂😂👏🏻
I will never watch the human centipede
same!! 😂😂 imagining it was enough for me
Hahaha! Zombie is so stupid and sounds like a fudged up English word😆 To my knowledge there is no Z or even z noise in the Irish language.
yeah there isn't just like with vampire, there's no 'v' 😂 it's béarlachas - anglicism
@ 🤭 Y’all should kick it out 😆
