I wish DC would collect all those Trevor Von Eden short stories he did for World's Finest and Batman. Beautiful stuff.

Lynn was actually Trevor Von Eden's girlfriend at the time!

Trevor did a really long interview on the now defunct comics podcast, 'SideBar' where he went into an insane amount of detail about his relationship with Lynn Varley. From what I recall, they met whilst both working at continuity comics and dated for quite a while before she got together with Miller. I think Von Eeden and Miller were quite close afterwards too. It's really worth a listen if you can dig it up (all the SideBar episodes are great).
I also had the pleasure of colouring one of Trevor's recent gigs, 'All Time Comics, Vol. 2: Zerosis Deathscape' created by Josh Bayer and co. It was an incredible experience and I learned a lot from getting up close with Trevor's work like that. He definitely hasn't slowed down in his later years, the page layouts and detail on those books were insane. I'll try and do a video on my channel about it soon.

Got a weird one for you, Von Eeden and Alex Nino on Mr. Justice in 1983's Blue Ribbon Comics # 2.

I read this as a twelve year old kid (that was 1984, when the translation was published in Germany) and I was blown away by the art. Till then my favourite bat artist had been Jim Aparo but this tale opened my eyes for the possibilities that lay in superhero comics. I read it on a hot summer afternoon, perfectly suited to the story and it's one of my favourite reading experiences ever.

Thriller is one of my favorite Von Eeden comics. He did some cool art on Batman and the Outsiders and World's Finest. Although I think I've enjoyed all of this comics art that I've seen. - Jim

Great episode with one of my favorite Batman stories. I'll second the recommendation of Von Eeden's Green Arrow mini-series. Oliver Queen never looked better!

I hope you guys look at the overlooked and underrated mid 80s Thriller 12 by Robert Loren Fleming and Von Eadon (both left before the series ended by issue 12).

I just got a tablet and it is so much better for looking at the at up close than a phone because of size and a computer because you can look at it more closely. Good shit

Trevor Von Eden drew an excellent Mr Justice story (well, the art was excellent) for the 1980's Mighty Crusaders relaunch.

Had the pleasure of getting to meet and hang out with Trevor Von Eeden for two days during the Amazing Comic Con in Las Vegas 3 years ago. Him and my best friend hit it off and he hooked us up man with a bunch of signed artwork and just hung out and talked to us for two days was awesome. I have the same issue of Batman that you're talkin about Ed and that's what I took with me to the con and when I meet him that's was the book he signed for me.

Von Eden and Varley were a couple for a bit, I believe this collaboration was during that time. They definitely worked closely together and it shows.
He often spoke highly of Neal Adams as an artist and mentor, clearly a big influence. I see more Toth in his Batman work though.

(sound of needle ripped from record playing) ….wait, Trevor Avon Eden was the original artists attached to Batman: Year One?!?! How have I never heard this before??? Mind. Blown!!!
ps- those Street Angel pencils =beautiful stuff! Was 1978’s The Warriors an influence…?

the face in the third panel (in the left page)at 5:14 is bruce's face in batman beyond, lol, the animators didn't even try to disguise it. the batman silhouette in the last panel of the left page at 15:49 is how batman's silhouette is drawn in the animated series multiple times, like, uncannily so,it has to be taken from this comic

Von Eden spoke of this comic a kind of a thesis or mission statement or something like that... Maybe there wasn't that much time pressure but he was trying to build a template to efficiently make monthly comics while maintaining a high standard.
