Hi! I’m Kristin, I’m from the video you guys just reacted to (the girl in the pink top and glasses with acoustic guitar). Just want to thank you guys for reacting to our video, we are still together as a band in Pakistan and we appreciate everything you had to say! x Love from Pakistan❤️🇵🇰
Oh wow hi! We were not expecting anyone from this video to watch our reaction so we got super excited seeing this comment! We are so glad that you guys are still together because we loved this video; you guys are absolutely amazing! Much love and blessings from us to you all! 🙂❤️
Nikkie Nick somehow this just popped up on my RUclips feed like I just stumbled upon this reaction which I think is pretty cool 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks once again! ❤️
Hi Kristina, I'm a big fan of Nescafe Basement and of course your song and the video was absolutely amazing. Can you please update, if Nescafe Season will ever happen??? I really miss it badly. Kind Regards
The long instrument is called the "Sitaar". It's widely used in the subcontinent i.e. both in Pakistan and India and is mostly utilized in classical music. The small drums beaten by hand are called the "Tabla". They are again used in classical music in the subcontinent. It is really impressive to see how these women were able to blend classical touch into a modern rock music song. To answer your first question: No, these girls are not a band and are individual musicians. Each is amazing on their instruemtn and very talented. P.S.: Pakistan is the most musical country in the world, with some of the best music in the world being produced here. P.S.S.: Please react to "Paar Chana De" from Coke Studio Pakistan. The song revolves around the famous folk love story here in Pakistan, where both the lovers tragically die in the "River Chenab" by drowning here in Pakistan. You will also be introduced to a new instrument and the only human being in the world who can play that instrument. Do check it out. Anyways sorry for the long post. You guys rock. Kudos !!!!!
One thing more about "Sitaar" is that it was invented in 13th century by a sofi poet "Ameer Khusroo" he is also the inventor of famous sub-continental singing style know as "Qawali".
No, they're not a band. They are university students. The best thing is John New Man listened to that song and appreciated on his Twitter account. You guys are awesome. Please react to Baanware from Coke Studio Season 10 and Tera Woh Pyar from Coke Studio Season 9 as well.
they are just college students and nescafe basement is a platform where young singers from different colleges of Pakistan come and perform....! and that long instrument is sitar...!
John Newman the original singer tweeted this cover himself calling it "Dope", the instrument is called "Sitar", they are not exactly a band the Nescafe basement producer Xulfi brought them together for this cover as Nescafe basement mostly do covers by bringing talents together young talents from schools and colleges. Please also react to Pespsi battle of the band "Jilawatan" the band of Xulfi himself and also react to Nescafe Basement cover of "Sweet Child o Mine". Ur reactions are always genuine.
The best thing and the beauty of coke studio and Nescafe basement is that they both how beautifully combine the traditional instruments and music to the modern instruments and music how perfectly the riffs of both are related and... The long one instrument is plucked string flute and the other one is small hand drums.. Glad u liked the song cover
Xulfi is the man behind nescafe basement project. He is singer n composer of a music band. He appeared in this video when all were singing chorus with claps. Sitaar n tablaa r uses in this song to give eastern touch.
really nice reaction, loving it, they are not a band, they are students of different colleges and universities, they are selected for this song as a result of auditions, the name of the instrument is "sattar" please do react more on Nascafe Basement and Coke Studio stuff, my recommendations would be: Larger Than Life from Nasecafe Basement Sweet Child O' Mine from Nascafe Basement Kitni Sadiyan from Nascafe Basement Kameez Teri Kaali from Nascafe Basement Allah o Akbar from Coke Studio Khaki Banda From Coke Studio Shamaan Pai Gaiyaan from Coke Studio Ala Bali from Coke Studio Sayonee from Coke Studio please make sure to react on all of these songs they are amazing in their own ways, you will be amazed by the quality, keep doing this, love and Peace❤️
PC Soldier Ok mate its indian instrument.. Khush 😄... What I know is the people who play the instrument also matter... And Pakistan is a country with one of best Music in the world... You can find music from Pakistan in every genre and in more than 100 languages... And do you know bollywood copied 3000 songs from Pakistan... ? Without copyrights or even credit ?
at 3:08 the instrument is called Sarod. The Sarod is an instrument derived from the Central and South Asian instrument the Rubab or Rabab. This string instrument has a metal fingerboard with no frets, and numerous strings. The membrane covering provides resonance in the sound chamber. It is usually played with a coconut pick. The Sarod is used in many parts of Pakistan
you r welcome.. Did u just reply noww??? Interesting I was watching your coke studio reactions again n suddenly got notification of your reply. :D And yea there is another song by Coke studio thats sung very passionately. its called Sammi Meri Waar, Coke Studio Season 8, Episode 2
After this I guess you should react to " larger than life" Nescafe basement. You'll enjoy it for sure.... Yes the long instrument is called "Sitar". When they started singing they were not a band but now they are performing as a band.
They are not a band btw.. You have to see the BTS video for the song to see how Xulfi brought them all together for this.. And that large string instrument is called Sitar.. It's very common in India/Pakistan..
Coke studio have professionals but nescafe gets the young talent from collages and universities from pakistan and give them opportunity to perform on a big platform !!! Personaly i like nescafe basement !!! Please also react to larger than life by nescafe basement
the blue hijabi girl is playing an eastern instrument called Tabla . played with fingers. the other long necked string instrument is another eastern instrument called Sitaaar .
Your answer to the name of the muisical instruments was already in front of you at 7:39. If you did Shelock Homes type deductions :p , you'd have known that all western instruments subtracted from the list gives you "Sitar" and "Tabla", the two non-western ones. The stringed one is a Sitar and the little drums are Tabla. A great performance by the all girls group...indeed!
They are not a band. Its just a contribution of different artists. Nescafe basement is a platform where they gather experts under an arranger. Arrangements of this song is done by Zulfi
My recommendation list: Larger than life - Nescafe basement Bailye - coke studio Pakistan Out of my mind - Nescafe basement Aja more sayian - coke studio Pakistan You'll definitely enjoy these and I'll have a fun video to watch as a result :)

The girls are from Pakistan and Nescafé basement is a Pakistani music show that almost started as an underground experiment. Almost all of the coke studio videos that you have reacted to also are Pakistani coke studio videos.
