im curious why use armor plates when you could use self sealing fuel tanks to still have good range and better air defence does it just make the design too expensive?
Self Sealing FTs are nice, if you can afford the rubber - since our Rubber production is ramping up at the beginning of the war, we simply use Armor Plates. If taking on the US (or the war would not have ended early) I would've added SSFTs - and then depending on where we fight Extra Fuel Tanks or Drop Tanks. :)
