I'm not Australian, but somehow this massacre is always the one that hits me the hardest, when the gunman chased a 6 year old girl, found her crouched behind a tree, pressed the rifle against her neck, and practically blew her head off. And this immediately after killing her mum and 3 year old sister. How a member of the human race can do that defies belief.

Your reaction was so compassionate as it is to all sad content that is why you are so great to watch . You are a very caring individual which shows through all your reactions. Your little boy is so cute by the way.

Glad you're reacting to these videos. They're hard to watch. Esp as a parent. They make you hold your kids just that bit tighter.
But it's important to remember events like this, horrific as they are, so that we can endeavour to do better and make sure they never happen again.

Thats my little man right there. I do have to take a break from the subject of mass/school shootings at least for a little while. They are affecting me a little too much. I am too empathetic I think. I have actually thought that something was wrong with me because I think I feel more deeply than most. Thanks so much for the compliment’s about Lil Ronnie and also a big thank you for watching and supporting the channel.

@@SimplySavageReactions being an empath is hard, you absorb so much of everyone else's emotions. I like seeing you cover all the diff topics that you do. The more serious stuff like is also good but don't go too far down the dark path of mass shooters, it's an insight to why other countries have banned guns and put pressure to the US to make changes to theirs, but trying to understand them will drive you crazy.

One young mum ran with her 3 year old in her arms and as the shooter approached her, she begged him not to kill her children. He aimed at the 3 year old, fired and killed her. The mother screamed at the 5 year old to run and hide. The shooter shot and killed the mother. He then went in search of the little girl and found her cowering behind a tree. He aimed while the sobbing and terrified child begged for her life but without compassion, he fired and killed her as well. It was a dark day in our history and I’m glad he’s locked up for the rest of his life.

Whole families, one father and husband was the only survivor of his family - he saw his daughters & wife, die! Port Arthur is a quiet, peaceful place to take your family to visit on a Sunday, and a tourist must see! It was totally unexpected and irrational! It was so painful, for the whole peaceful area, Tasmanians and whole of Australia, world tourism! 😳😩😪

If you are exploring this further I would recommend the following video, which was a comedic but also serious, look at how the Port Arthur shooting were the catalist for huge changes in Australian gun laws. Australia had a gun culture nearer that of the US than we had in the UK, and so the comparison is closer. We in the UK reacted to our own mass shooting of 16 4-5 year old children in their school (at Dunblane in Scotland) by banning handguns and tightening our gun laws in a way that would be unthinkable in the US.

The strange how shocked you were that children were killed. Kind of odd considering how many school shootings you get in the States. I suppose it's so normal over there that nobody is shocked. Of course they were negotiating dude, the guy was holding hostages. Apparently your second amendment is far more important than the lives of your children and innocent citizens. ✌️♥️🇬🇧

The massacre in Norway was even worse with close to 80 people murdered. The Port Arthur massacre was the final straw for my family. First the Hoddle Street massacre in Melbourne in 1987 followed several months later by the Queen Street massacre in the heart of the business district of Melbourne (my building in Queen Street was locked down) with police locked down the street during the massacre to pedestrian and vehicles. When the Port Arthur massacre occurred nearly 10 years later, the horrendous death toll spurred my family of sports shooters to turn in all their semi-automatic weapons in the government buy back scheme. My husband kept his bolt action rifle for a few years but he turned it in for destruction because he lost interest in hunting.

The more that kids learn about the evil side of what people are capable of, the better. Don't shield them from the truth of the dark side of humanity. It will keep them safer if they aren't blind to shit like this.
