The conclusion of Robin putting the bots in himself was actually a brilliant move by Robin and makes sense as to why Slade was forced to release them and not just kill the others manually. The ONLY reason Robin was willing to be his protege (if you can call it that since he kept trying to attack him too) was because his friends lives were being held over his head by Slade and the bots. He wasn’t actually going to kill Robin’s friends as they were his leverage over Robin. That’s why he told Robin to attack them when they burst in. He wasn’t ordering Robin to kill them, just beat them up. He started slowly killing them with the microbots in order to force Robin to do as he said but it was likely his way of showing Robin what was going to happen if he didn’t obey and would have stopped the microbots once Robin attacked them. But by Robin infecting himself, he puts Slade in a bad spot. Slade desperately wants Robin to be his apprentice. Almost as much as Robin wants to catch him. (Another way they are similar. Their obsessions.) But Robin is only willing to do this if his friends are okay/alive. If Slade were to manually kill his friends Robin would have no reason to stay his apprentice. So due to his own obsession, it’s better for Slade to release them all and try again later if he really wants Robin.

Slade's arch in this season was my favorite. His own motive in this season was to make Robin his apprentice, and to do so he needed the Teen Titans to be destroyed. Slade could have eliminated them himself, but he manipulated Robin to do it instead by driving everyone he cares about away from him. He became Red X to get closer to Slade, but by doing so made him become someone he never wanted to become. In the final episode Slade said, "Robin, that was viscous, dishonorable, and ruthless. Excellent, you're becoming more like me every second." He drove Robin to point where he could not trust his friends and almost crossed his moral line by fighting them.

To I felt robin being obsessed with slade and him not trusting his team is their way to symbolize that he is close to being batman which was the reason why he left to have robin be his own and had to be show that he still has that training that batman taught him and how he is rubbed off on robin. So the season and the shows was robin growing out of being close to his adaptive father

What I learned from all 5 Seasons of The Teen Titans is the characters' story or the seasons about the characters
    Season 1 was about Robin
Season 2 was about Terra and Beast Boy
    Season 3 was about Cyborg
    Season 4 was about Raven
Season 5 was about Beast Boy and the rest of the Titans

Before it got canceled, there was going to be a 6th season that would have focused on Starfire having Blackfire to be the main antagonist.

@@AnimeLover-tc2fjYeah, in fact I think the show would have better morale if they had Starfire arc being the main arc of Season 5 and have the Honorary Titan/Brotherhood Of Evil have the main or Season 6.

I actually like Forces of Nature a lot, except for Starfire being irrationally mad and BB or any other Titan explaining it.
They could have just had star say that specific prank was beyond despicable on her planet near the end.
The good part of the show was BB showing some wisdom & being crushed that Starfire was mad at him.

I recently rewatched the first season as well, and noticed the voice acting was kind of hit or miss.

I just realized... Blackfire isnt supposed to have powers. Like, she basically had a childhood illness that gave her the disability of being unable to photosynthesize. But I digress, I only just now looked it up but considering this is not heavily based on the comics...

i still think they should have called episode 10 "detention", Detention is a more accurate title.

NGL I sometimes forget that Trigon appeared in Season 1. I literally sometimes remember him as only appearing in Season 4.

Even though Beast Boy is my favorite character, as much as I hate to admit it, most of his episodes really weren't that interesting or great, which is a shame because I think they could've done way more with his character. It definitely would've been nice to have an episode where we learn his backstory, and considering how sad and tragic it actually is, it would've been awesome (though, to be honest, if season 6 came out, I think we may have gotten one, as well as for the other Titans).
Eh, I may be a bit too harsh on this, because after all, this is still a kids' show, so can't have every episode be dark :)

Yeah, I agree. Besides The Beast Within, most of his episodes are comedy based - besides the season 5 arc ones

@@AmpleSamuel Damn, that's a fast response, lol. Just wanted to edit my original comment and add that they probably wanted Aqualad to be the cliche "that guy that all girls drool over for some reason", but thank goodness they dropped that BS and it was never brought up in any later episodes involving him. Guess I'll just write a reply :D

I think BB should have been Raven's emotional support in season 4 instead of Robin. Episodes with her dynamic with BB I think did a better job at developing his character then when she wasn't present.

Thanks for watching! While I do respect your opinion, I still think that Slade had many other options. Detroying the bots only hurt Slade, as he could have just turned them off and used them on all the Titans later. Also, he never again tries to make Robin his apprentice, as he quickly moves on to Terra in season 2. While Slade perhaps had some other plan or just a lapse in judgement, I still think that the decision to have Slade destroy the bots was not nearly as effective of a choice from the writers as just having Robin destroy it, even if it does more thematically fit the episode.
