Sweet. This video made me realize ive been starting my bases too low on my tulips which makes them muddy at the bottom. I gotta agree with everyone whos been saying this is a master class. Ive been a barista for 15 years and have picked up something in each vid.
You are INCREDIBLE! Thank you so much! I don't know how to convey my appreciation more than just saying thank you and creating more content. So, thank you and more to come!
I LOVE these videos! The drawings and quadrants have helped me so much with understanding the techniques, and you dubbing over the video talking about what you're doing is awesome. I'm still very new, so I'm still practicing to be consistent with everything, but you've helped me get to a point where I feel like I actually CAN get better and not just completely in the dark about what's going wrong. And over the past week I've had a few (albeit simple) designs that I felt could have come from a coffee shop, which is huge progress! The fact that you've got a bonehead like me feeling good about what I'm pouring speaks volumes of your teaching prowess :)
Hi Lance. I just write this to say that these videos that have been uploaded by you are really helpful for people on many different levels. As a barista who has worked in the industry for 3 years and is able to do latte art quite consistently, I still manage to learn stuff from you here and there. The way you explain things is so easy to follow and understand, from how you compare to the movement of pulling up the milk pitcher at the end like a helicopter or a plane, to the wrapping of the wing. Just ask in advance, as I am having a plan to open my own cafe soon, and in my country, espresso-based coffee and latte art are very new and full of flaws. I will use those instructions of yours to probably teach someone else.
Well Lance, I have to personally thank you, after a year of trying rosetta's I finally was able to do properly do one today and it felt like a victory after failing for at least 500 times :').
Yet again, great instructional video from Lance! I am consuming these videos as fast as they are being produced - if only my skill level could keep up! Don't stop Lance 👍🏻
Yo Lance! I'm just about to receive a DeLonghi Home Espresso machine + grinder tomorrow, I'm more than hyped to start learning! Between you and James Hoffman, I dare to say I don't have to attend any "courses" offered in my country. You guys just cover everything an aspiring barista needs! I hope you continue making these videos. It just inspires me so much!
I used a 350ml cheap pitcher before and today I received my WPM pitcher 500ml for my 250ml cup. My first heart latte art came out very good! Thanks Lance.
The 20mins just go by, really enjoy this and I'm learning alot, you're really doing a lot for us who are just starting off and couldn't get this info anywhere else
Lance - another fantastic video. You are the first person I have seen to crack the code and to diagram out the patterns instead of just pouring. And your milk technique - wow. My partner did it last night and she got it the first time. 🙏🏼. We will be practicing and send you a video. Thanks again!
I wish I could only leave thousands of likes to this video. I swear, every time I’m about to move one step ahead in my latte art journey, there’s a Lance Hendrick’s video to tell me how to do it. Idk how to thank you enough ❤
Once again excellent video. I just got my Slow Pour Supply pitcher and LOVE it. Thank you for pointing it out to us, and than you Slow Pour Supply for sponsoring! Still working on basic heart, but I am going to keep watching these videos and practicing.
Thank you! Will be going to filter coffee for a few videos. As much as I know and love latte art, I'm a huge filter coffee enthusiast. Quite excited to start dropping more vids!
This is a really useful series. Don’t worry about the videos being on the long side -- if you treat this like sitting in a workshop/class, 20 minutes would be nothing. The great thing about what you are showing I think is that there is both some theory and concrete, approachable steps, so you have something useful to practice and build up to more complex shapes (that is it’s not just about how to create a specific shape). I made a lot more progress with these than with way to much time (and milk) doing trial and error.
Haha! For sure on the horizon, but I'm going to let these two recent latte art videos ride for a bit to give people practice before moving on. Going to transition to filter coffee for a couple of videos!
Been following you since your very first video was suggested on Reddit, and god damn, you've been such a fresh breath of air to the coffee community on RUclips. I've improved a lot by watching and trying to follow your guides, but I still mess it up more times than not. Then I just take the pointy end of the milk thermometer (I know...) and draw a face instead. Love your videos, love your energy, love your presence. Eagerly awaiting for your Patreon!

I genuinely think everyone who loves coffee and latte art should subscribe to this channel. And as others I can't wait for your Patreon. It's nice to be here from the start seeing the channel and the community growing. Perhaps, if you're looking for ideas of possible future content, I've been thinking about one - a series of short episodes (maybe 10 minutes long) in which every episode would show a single design and detailed instructions how to create and master it (with nice drawn illustrations). To me you are a latte art god and your art is so much better than most others I see here.
Thank you. Is there a way how to send you my recent latte art picture other than Instagram (I don't have an account)? I've tried sending a link to imgur in the comment but it seems to be blocked automatically. I'd like to hear your feedback if you can find the time. Thanks a lot.

Lance, love your videos! Like many others, ever since I watched your milk steaming tips I have improved so much and I finally figured out how I could improve the quality of my espresso pulls! Just one question, where do you get your mugs that you pour art into? My biggest issue is that my current mugs are too big and narrow, but I can't seem to find those wide and shallow mugs online that aren't like a set of 8 stackable cups that come in a rack... I appreciate your help and dedication to quality in your teachings! Thanks!
Hi Lance, thanks for the great content. I enjoy all your videos and how you explain everything in detail. Can you inform me about the best cup to create latte art and which one you are using?
Well, Lance, I think you gonna change the content to DJ set hahaha (nice light set though, supercool!!,) Still, incredible explanation so far thanks a lot 👍👍
Great detailed video once again Lance…Thank you 🙏🏼. Just quickly wanted to ask you what cup you’re using and what size? I’m gonna take a quick guess and say Loveramics 200ml?
Hi Lance thank you for this very wonderful video! :) during the first drop of the base just above the center of the cup do you wait for a second before you start wiggling @11:40? Do you also give it a slight push forward @17:16?? :)

What's the best espresso yeild to work off of for latte art? I usually do 18g in to 36g out, would it make my life easier if pouring in a bigger espresso base, like 45g or more? I always feel I might not have enough of a base to start with... well for now, that's my excuse! 😉
What size frothing pitcher do you recommend for doing individual cappuccinos? 8 or 10 oz? Straight sides? My 18 oz seems way too big for steaming 4 0z of milk on my gaggia classic.
Hey Lance! Thanks to your content my latte art has been steadily improving and less haphazard. There's a ton of comments and not sure if you've already answered, but what size/brand cups are you using? I suspect I should downsize my cups as I'm using 12oz latte art cups (used to really like big drinks and wider the better right?). My pitcher in relation is 16oz. Would downsizing my cup to 8 to 10oz make latte art easier to pour and learn?
Yes it will, but it will help regardless. Understanding how flow works in different receptacles is very beneficial. So, it will be much different for timing, etc, but won't hurt.

Yessss!!
Thanks Lance. 👍🏻
First Comment! Thank you for the support!
Amazing! Now I understand where I'm getting it wrong.
That's actually a huge step. Stoked you found it helpful!
This is pretty intense stuff
great video
Lance, love your videos! Like many others, ever since I watched your milk steaming tips I have improved so much and I finally figured out how I could improve the quality of my espresso pulls! Just one question, where do you get your mugs that you pour art into? My biggest issue is that my current mugs are too big and narrow, but I can't seem to find those wide and shallow mugs online that aren't like a set of 8 stackable cups that come in a rack... I appreciate your help and dedication to quality in your teachings! Thanks!
The ones I use are discontinued but here are some great ones:
Origami
Notneutral
Created co
Loveramics
Acme
Watching this for maybe the 5th time, and only now noticing that your in a music recording studio.
You’re the best, thanks very much!!
Thanks for watching and the support!
Thank you mr Lance!Best tutorial.Just wondering why you prefer Handleless Pitchers?
I just like the control. Completely subjective, obviously. One is not better than another, just personal preference
@@LanceHedrick sure sir!

Heck yes! I love to hear it! Tag me in some progress pics on IG if you're there!
Hi Lance, thanks for the great content. I enjoy all your videos and how you explain everything in detail. Can you inform me about the best cup to create latte art and which one you are using?
The one I use isn't made anymore. I recommend around a 6oz cup from loveramics or created co or acme or origami or notneutral or ancap
@@LanceHedrick okay, perfect. I just ordered a 10oz from loveramics I need to correct then ;). Thanks for your quick reply. Much appreciated.
Absolutely! No problem. Enjoy!
Dude I love your videos! But in every one of them I feel like I’m looking a different guy! Lol. 👍🏼
Lance gives you wings.
Well, Lance, I think you gonna change the content to DJ set hahaha (nice light set though, supercool!!,)
Still, incredible explanation so far thanks a lot 👍👍
Hahaha thank you so much!
Very good thank you ❤️🐱
Thank you for watching and the support!
Great detailed video once again Lance…Thank you 🙏🏼.
Just quickly wanted to ask you what cup you’re using and what size? I’m gonna take a quick guess and say Loveramics 200ml?
6.7oz ACF cup!
Hey Lance, love these videos! What size cup do you use for latte art? I've got an 8oz and it feels like I run out of room in the cup so fast.
I actually use 6.7oz haha! The smaller, to an extent, the better!
Hi Lance thank you for this very wonderful video! :) during the first drop of the base just above the center of the cup do you wait for a second before you start wiggling @11:40? Do you also give it a slight push forward @17:16?? :)
Sort of? You don't have to. This was late at night and I hadn't eaten and I was a little shaky from coffee lol. Either way works! Find what you prefer
@@LanceHedrick Yup either way works as the pours are still beautiful!! thank youuu haha! i was soooo into the video i was like MUST....... POUR....... LIKE........ LANCE :)))))) hahaha. I appreciate your dedication in making this video thank you Lance!:)
Absolutely! Thanks sincerely for the support!
Thank you. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏👍👍 Thank you for the great wiggles. I’m still trying to master the monks head. 😂😂😂
Haha well just know the wiggle vid is here waiting for you when ready! Take your time!
@@LanceHedrick Today made one of the nicest monks head ever. So nice that I didn’t want to drink the cup. haaahaaa. Thanks again for all the great video 🙏🙏🙏👍👍
Hahaha yes! Incredible! That is a huge accomplishment. Hope you took a pic! Good memories for you as you progress.
Thank you.
Hi Lance, thank you for all your videos. How do i get clean lines in ripples?
Thank you!!
Thank YOU for watching and the support!
What kind of spout do you use? Wide, narrow or round?
Lance teaching latte art in a big ass music studio like nothing happened
What's the best espresso yeild to work off of for latte art? I usually do 18g in to 36g out, would it make my life easier if pouring in a bigger espresso base, like 45g or more? I always feel I might not have enough of a base to start with... well for now, that's my excuse! 😉
I enjoy shorter shots, so like 18in, 30out or so! For latte art, that is
What size frothing pitcher do you recommend for doing individual cappuccinos?
I much prefer 5-7oz cups to any other sizes, for sure. Makes art easier, though it will fill up quickly! Haha
Just wondering, if I practice on curved porcelain cups, will it be a different dilemma pouring on a much narrower straight glasses
Yes it will, but it will help regardless. Understanding how flow works in different receptacles is very beneficial. So, it will be much different for timing, etc, but won't hurt.
God damn YOU aRe Living LEGEND!!!!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣 thank you! I hope the video proves helpful!
