It's still a far cry from those early 1st- and 2nd-generation locomotives, when the engineer had to manually prime the fuel racks then engage the starter manually. One-button start-up! (Well, not really. Breakers and such have to be set.)
@@sovetski8893 ACTUALLY, it's because you can only fit so much into a short like this. there's at least one video of a full procedure out there. it's not a secret.
I want to say thank you for all the comments and subscribers. It really means alot to me. I'm not working for the railroad anymore I'm driving a truck. But if you're interested in trucking videos please let me know.
The beautiful howls of an Ace, I have a O Gauge SD70ACe in CSX scheme, #4845, Unfortunately all the ACe's were bought out by Progress rail. And fun fact! It's my favorite locomotive with the DDA40X!
I’m sorry, I got confused. Are you starting up a locomotive or a starship that can take us to another galaxy, cause holy hell that sound is out of this world
I’m surprised it has an air starter. Our GT46C-ACe models, which use the same engine and electrical gear, have electric starters. Starting is the same though.
Am I crazy, or does it sound like the engine has an electric starter rolling it over between 0:25 and 0:28? Hard to tell over the sound of the fuel pump running, but does sound like an engine that's being crunk with batteries that are damn near dead.
The start of the engine sounded amazing.
It almost sounds like an Abrams
I’m telling y’all that I get happy when I see an ACe! I love the SD70ACes! Awesome video, and stay safe!
Thank you for the comment. I'm not running locomotives right now. I'm driving trucks. But I'll try to get more videos
🇵🇷
I had one run by my house at 4:30 am was quite interesting.
My ears sure aren’t happy
Yeah well we hate working on them. They are the worse to work on
The engine is like hold on let me have my coffee first 😁 then I'll start 😆
Staring at you while it continues to sip the freshly poured coffee, then has the nerve to ask how everything is goin’ 😅😅😂😂
No no no my friend... It sounds like Hol' my beer.
*starting sound*
I’m so glad I found this I just recently bought an SD70ACE off of marketplace and didn’t know what to do with it
That big blast off air would’ve scared the underwear off me lol
😂
😂
😂
lmao
He not telling you all the switches and the master switch you have to turn on.
Anyway nice
I'm pretty sure thats probably for safety so a random person doesn't try it 🤣

@@Erzahler starting a 7fdl or a 645. Love the whine of the 645 but love the ge chug of the 7fdl

Wow it’s so much easier to steal than the older models thanks
Yeah. With no reverser you can’t go anywhere

Hot dog! I love that "Whoop, whine"!
Hot dang...just like the model! Seriously though ElectroMotiveDiesel could not have kept it simpler...switch, button, compressed air starter 👍🏾👍🏾🛤🛤
That TSSSSSSSS WRRRRRRRRRRRRRR is easily the best startup sound out there
Fire up that beast.🤠👍
EMD power!! That 710 sounds amazing
My first ever train set was a BNSF SD70ACe. The “startup” sound was very realistic in hindsight
I really like this video
Thank you. It took me a while to get it right.
I wish I had a chance to do it
Amazing! You have the greatest job. It’s what I hope to do when I’m older.
A whole lot of technology there
Nice car bro
Pretty cool view of the cab on the BNSF
That's baby starts smooth baby, smooth.😊😉✌️👍
It's alive!
I dont care about the buttons just dangggggg that start up was cool
Good educational topic can’t wait to start one up one day when I work for the railroad
That sound makes me go YES!
SD70ACE that is amazing
The starting of BURLY POWER!!!!!!!
I really would love to start doing that when I get to go to the rail 🚈 yard
Beautiful engine, gorgeous sounds, I'll never get tired of seeing and hearing these.
Air starters are awesome. 👌
They are til you put that engine in a cold climate and have air leaks!! Even small ones can play hell with starting these.
These are my favorite type of engines

I’ve always loved 70ACes, please do more
Wow😊
Not too many videos on thestartup of an sd70ace. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome sound
Love the wind up 🔊🔊
Love the sound
Sounded amazing!
This helped me so much with tsw
Coolest thing right their
It’s incredible when you can hear the difference from just the air turning the engine and when the engine actually starts to turn.
I like this sound 😊
Goosebumps
BNSF SD70ACE nice!
Excellent video!
Wow sounds just like my mth SD70ace
Turbos!!!

Very cool.
The sd70 is the coolest train I've ever saw because I can literally prime itself and then start itself
That’s is how AUTO START starts an SD70ACE
I’m sorry, I got confused. Are you starting up a locomotive or a starship that can take us to another galaxy, cause holy hell that sound is out of this world
I can't wait to find one so i can start it.
Nice startup 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome audio
Sounds like you're firing up a spaceship from a sci-fi movie...
That diesel engine wining with the turbo 🤤👌
God listen to that turbo
Love that start up
Thank you I got an NS ace in my backyard and I was about to sell it thank you!
Nice sound

nice
Nothing like opening the start compartment, turn the knob to prime the diesel and see the fuel fill the site glass before engaging the starter.
👍 also thumbs up'd it
AWESOME!!!!👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Bro it sounded like a Demon when it first started lol
Sounds like it’s has so much power
4400hp or so..
Cool!
Love this Sound
Yeah yeah yeah that's cool and everything ... Can it do a burnout?!?! 🤣🤣
Love it!
Feel the power
Really cool
Nice
Engine sounds like my generator
id probably jump if i heard that airstarter go off behind me
Nice that's cool how to start a BNSF SD70Ace with push button start.
Gone are the days of waiting hours for the steam locomotive to warm up.
Love the emd 710's but the air starters are a huge nono for me!
Wow
Pneumatic Motor start?
And guys before you start your SD70ACE at home make sure the gen field is disabled so it starts
Me when my mom forgets to pour my coffee
*starting up* beeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeeep beeeeeeeeeeep* turns on* mom, bring that ass over here
Sounds like a fucking fighter jet
Now time to learn how to start the new ST70AH xd but ya ain't the st70Ah have the same start as the sd70ace?
same procedure on t4 units too.
Well ain't that just fayncy
This is gonna help me on Ns if I have to drive a ACE
Run. We "run" the engine. Not drive.
I would love to do that
Me to
Sounds like my HO scale lol makes sence
Exactly!!!💯 Like mines too✌️👍

compressed air to start..
So you don't turn a key and press the accelerator?
Noice
That fuel pump tho lol
Wait til Deyoung sees this
The isolation switch doesn't have an 'on position'
Can you manually start a SD70?
That got loud pretty fast
Congratulations! You now have command over *4400 horsepower!*
air starter?
yep
