@@Suuuuuuuper well, I played my first time a bit ignorant. I didn’t have elemental damage that was working on him, and I didn’t feel like loading the save prior to his original form. So I just had to work with what I had, which was painfully slow chip damage. This 2nd time, was on tactician and I just got him wet and did call lightning 3 times. A few throws from a tavern brawler and a couple monk smacks, and he died with only having taken 1 turn. So awesome the game rewards strategy.
Just slinging Gortash over your shoulder and carrying him off while the Steel Watch and all the nobles gathered for the coronation do absolutely nothing about it will never not be funny to me
I love that yeeting Gortash is still optimal. The dev room warps are fun but there's just endless delight in watching the smug-ass major villain be hauled off like a misbehaving child by a shockingly strong elf lady and hurled off a bridge like a common goblin. An instantly understandable, beautiful moment of poetry in motion. Even if you have to dub in the Goofy scream yourself.
What makes it even better to me is that it's done while invisible. To everyone there, it'd look like the man just starts levitating, flailing about while being dragged towards the exit. And people are like "yeah, whatever. He'll be alright i guess."
Reverse-pickpocketing an entire halfling into Orin's pocket and using it to sneak into the temple is the most outlandish, but most amazing concept I have ever seen

@@Finn-wc8nq oh yeah murder hobo, I wish though it lead to killing some good-aligned character, they're replaced by new evil-aligned character quests too (or better yet, alternative evil companions). But I guess that's too complicated to be implemented, or time intencive.

Like I said, it’s impressive what speed runners can do. I’m literally hundreds of hours into my fourth play through, and this crazy person blew through it in less than half an hour? Wow! lol
@@GiantSquiddman They already experienced the escapism and role playing. Most speedrunners dont just pick up a new game and start speedrunning it, they all had their first playthroughs. Speedruns come after that, with the main focus being competition.

I think the thing I find the funniest about the Gortash Yeeting strat is the fact that after Jaheira picks him up and runs out the door, Gortash somehow talks to her through the Steel Watcher as though nothing is wrong even though he is currently being carried around like a baby
That mrykul fight made me weep. The amount of time I spent researching how to beat that fight. The amount of runs I lost because of it. All I had to do was have an invisible bear jump back and forth. 😢
That is crazy. I literally thought the hardest act 2 fight was balthazar. I had to do that shit with tav and Shart bc his giants kicked wyll and karlach off the cliffs... kethric was mega easy to me 😅. It's crazy what diff people find to be challenging. So far the Orin and GOR Fights were also super easy. I had an easier time the first time on Orin bc I just used asterion to shoot bomb arrows at the ppl to knock them off the cliffs. I then did it a 2nd time bc I realized after gor, that I had fucked up my wyll choice for karlach's story so I basically found a quick save 35 hours prior after the wyrm. Then I forgot to bring any bombs and had to struggle to kill the cultists while Orin just wailed on me. Shit was dumb
@@kaidatheunforgiven295 on tactician I had a MUCH harder time on Mrykul. I also found out you can skip stage1 of the 2nd kethric fight by convincing himself to just give up. If you ask him to seek redemption, or something, he will unalive himself into the mrykul pit. The downside is that this starts the mrykul fight WITHOUT your party having ANY time to go and free The Nightsong so you gotta waste some time doing that PLUS On tactician mrykul had a few extra moves which are annoying. Shit suuuucked lol. Also killing Balthazaar in the shar temple first is a lil dice. That fight got hard for me on tactician but I managed to pull the W With asterion and some well placed fog/darkness arrows. Killed balthazar and everything else in the 2 rooms except the little brother which I left alone as I was able to have everyone evacuate while asteron just went invisible to hide lol
@@HypeFlexington it's easier if you play nice to begin with, take the flesh golem bell and run around with it helping you clear everything else, don't kill it totally, Then come back and when it's stood next to him it has only a handful of HP

I’ve never seen a BG3 speedrun before, so watching you repeatedly murder Shadowheart, and sling Gortash over your shoulder before hurling him off a bridge had me in absolute stitches

ive racked up over a 100 hours on a single playthrough and im still not finished, this run has taught me more about the game in the first 10 minutss than in those 100 hours, im truely speechless...
I started actually crying laughing when it got to the point with Ketheric getting his ass kicked by an invisible bear body slamming him like 7 times in a single turn and I thought that would be the funniest thing in this video but then you picked up Gortash, carried him through his castle while he flailed about like a baby having a tantrum, and threw him off a bridge. I'm fucking crying
It's a dev room. They hide NPCs and items in it to spawn in our spawn out things in the game without deleting them entirely. It's a pretty common tactic in the engines to move corpses into a body room to reduce the stress on the game. The corpses will either be deleted from the room that no normal player will ever see , or the room and corpses are never loaded into memory. However, players almost always find dev rooms if they look hard enough.

Being the first speedrun of bg3 that I've ever seen I have SO MANY QUESTIONS. Like how did they jump so many times in one "turn" to kill kethric?! Very impressive
I asked the same question and rewatched it like three times in a row. I do believe since the bear was invisible, it wasn't triggering combat, so you can jump as many times as you want because technically jumping isn't an attack? That's my best guess.

I just finished my very first playthrough at about 135 hrs. Not including all the time i lost to save scumming and redoing fights for better outcomes. Then this got recommended to me after wondering how long it would take me to do it all over again.
holy hell XD my brain is fried now lol, just trying to understand what is happening, i was about to slow it down to .25 speed XD i'm like having a mental break just watching this. Speedrunners definately are in a class well of their own, i don't think i could EVER do this kind of thing. But love watching them thats for sure lol, might help if i actually finished the game before watching lol, still on first ever playthrough, only lvl 4 and just took out the goblin camp and auntie ethal and entered the underdark! havent even been to mountain pass yet XD loving the game massively though, used to play D&D table top all the time. Being the first speedrun of bg3 that I've ever seen I have SO MANY QUESTIONS. Like how did they jump so many times in one "turn" to kill kethric?! Very impressive
I asked the same question and rewatched it like three times in a row. I do believe since the bear was invisible, it wasn't triggering combat, so you can jump as many times as you want because technically jumping isn't an attack? That's my best guess.

I just finished my very first playthrough at about 135 hrs. Not including all the time i lost to save scumming and redoing fights for better outcomes. Then this got recommended to me after wondering how long it would take me to do it all over again.

holy hell XD my brain is fried now lol, just trying to understand what is happening, i was about to slow it down to .25 speed XD i'm like having a mental break just watching this. Speedrunners definately are in a class well of their own, i don't think i could EVER do this kind of thing. But love watching them thats for sure lol, might help if i actually finished the game before watching lol, still on first ever playthrough, only lvl 4 and just took out the goblin camp and auntie ethal and entered the underdark! havent even been to mountain pass yet XD loving the game massively though, used to play D&D table top all the time.

I don't understand how your invisibility turns aren't running out when you're not in combat in the myrkel fight
It’s a glitch, you basically kill someone and pick up their body then when they are revived effects have infinite duration

One glitch that I still don't get after watching numerous runs is how you get spells turns to not run out and get stuck at 10.
Kill your ally before moving to second act. Pick them up. Then move on to second act. Revive them. Now your allies buffs are permanent.
Running off with Gortash and then yeeting him into the abyss is hilarious
