That wood looks like yellow pine from the good old US of A. I am intersted in using discards and proceeds of renovations and barn beams ( free of spikes and nails of course) and there are other options for making intersting composite lams of unusual materials that you wouldn't expect. I never expected to see woodworking to be done on a mill of the likes of the MDX-540. Is it not made for metal work? Of course the entry price might be a little rich for me. I am currently shopping for a CNC Router, but I Am wondering if there will be a market for my wares after the fires and floods and hurricanes of 2017 have finished with us. :-P
$20,000 dollars spent and you are making stuff that I could cut out with a $100 dollar scroll saw. Come on!!!!!You guys spent what might be considered a decent D.P on a downtown condo for that Roland? And it is considered to be a desk top unit. You would have done better with CNCParts.com. AT least they are an American company. Roland is Japanese based electronics origins. The "Rotary Tool Accessory" for that 540 cost as much as the 4 x 8 table I am looking at purchasing and it has a full sized 7ft rotary tool with 10" 4 jaw chuck and tail stock that handle 300mm stock, all that before before some options and shipping. If I can find the right manufacturer I would be into maybe $9K USD to the nearest Port Of Call to my home. That would also require being vetted by CNC Zone.com forum of course
