Traded a highly intelligent kid for a spoiled brat in mcgroarty. Rutger will be good tho, middle6 kinda guy he prob ends up being in his career. Kinda like Nino niedereiter but without the respect.
@@daweedking1 pitt is getting the more nhl ready player rn. It’s ridiculous and just flat out wrong to pretend we can truly decide who won the trade right now. Yager has a very high ceiling but could also just end up being an energy guy, whereas rutger has a high floor so it’s more safe right now, but only time can tell who will be better. Either way I’d definitely not say the jets have LOST the trade only considering how good the value was when they had no leverage.
Could some of the lack of scoring 5 on 5 be due to his commitment to the 2-way game? He said in interview he values his defensive play over everything else. Maybe with all the scoring on Moose Jaw he was letting other guys take more chances to be the high forward making sure they had numbers back etc. just a thought.
Great episode as always. It will be years before we know who won this trade. As I see it, McGroarty's ceiling is Gabe Landeskog while his floor is Nino Niederreiter. Yager's ceiling is Brayden Point, his floor is Bryan Little.
I'm happy we got a WHL/Sask player He most likely won't be on MooseJaw all year when teams rebuild they trade guys to contenders. The Jets should draft more WHL/CHL guys less USDP/NCAA. And in case more moves need to be made in future target guys like Mataychuk,Pickering,Krebs,Savoie,Geekie,Danielson,Lambos,Byram,Schneider,Elick. I know Jets wouldn't be bad enough but Mckenna. Guys who wouldn't mind playing here.
Its pretty obvious that Yager isn't going to legit make the jets this year. Sure he could play a few games and then be sent back to the WHL and not eat a year of entry level deal. Winnipeg has a surplus of forwards this year. Next year i see him playing for the Moose.
Thank you very much Connor Hrabchak & Lyss Houde…💥 GRrreat informative clip !!! 💥 Happy Labour Day (move over Wieber….HERE is Connor’s World with Lyss Houde. You heard it hear first) 👍😀
You seem to be comparing yager to a top 10 pick with what he needs to work on and not to a player who has as many things to work on as him. Kyle connor has as many goals in 1 year as Mcgroarty had in two. Scoring around 35 goals on 2 years is nothing to write home about. His skating is bad. He isn't that physical at least he didn't show it at the wjc except for 1 blind hit. I don't think for 1 second that rutger will be a top 6 player this year even on Pitts. He has very little defence in his game too. I think he struggles to stay in nhl this year.
Pretty much, people are looking at it taking about three years for him to put on the weight needed to be a force , but when he does, it's nice that he'll be on our side.
We’re going to miss Yager in Pittsburgh. He seems like a highly intelligent kid

Great episode. Love the analysis, especially what Lyss had brought up.

Super good analysis here Connor and Lyss. @Hus, put this segment on the daily show.
His release reminds me of Kessel at his best. Jets need that going forward.

Where would you say yager slots in on your guys’ top10 prospects now that Rutgers out and yagers in?

Lacks size that Winnipeg needs for playoff grinding. He needs to gain some pounds and muscle.
That what time does
He’s 19…..
@@Tangerine_6924 doesn’t matter Rutger is only 20 and is 30lbs heavier and gritty. Yager needs to gain muscle
@@areacode911 which he will since he’s only 19 …
