I love these designs but I wouldn’t let anyone actually use them if I got them and I’d be torn between wanting them to stay pretty and perfect and not wanting them to be wasted sitting around. I think too much sometimes ha

I don't make soap but I am a crafter and I'm always looking for new techniques and ideas for other crafts so I gotta say that I love how ur using a loose leaf tea strainer to apply the mica. Will totally be using that in future projects.
Would you ever do a completely custom request soap bar? Like something requested for Weddings, baby showers, etc.? I'm semi new to your channel, so I probably missed it if you've already addressed that question. lol

I usually prefer the look of low-top soap because frosting is for food, but this, with the waves, and those amazing seashells - I love it! I also like when you include clear melt-and-pour elements in the bar.

So I totally made some under the Sea soap today! With it being about 14 degrees today, I was thinking tropical weather! I made the same mermaid tails, and used some seashell molds too!

I joined the viewership about a month ago, and am not a soapmaker, so your extra explanations allowed me and other newer viewers to catch up. Love what you do and how you structure your videos! On my channel I do reveals for hidden jewelry companies. Some of them have soaps with rings hidden in them. I sooooo wish you would make something like this. It would be cool to have soaps with hidden toys or something in them geared towards kids. It was a struggle getting my son to get in the habbit of washing his hands when he was tiny. Something like this would make them excited to wash up!

By far definitely one of my favorite soaps!! I loved how informative you were being too! I wasn’t expecting to like the melt and pour accents as much as I did, very pretty. I really loved those seashell imbeds
If I had money, I would buy your soaps for the soul purpose of display and aromatherapy. I’d have a soap shelf to display it all and change them out with the seasons, using the “old” seasons soaps up and stocking back up with the new releases.

I've been watching mermaid soap videos all night, and suddenly my favorite soaper just happened to upload a video with mermaid soap! Almost feel like I wished this video into existence!

Oh man, I JUST finished making this soap. My most labor intensive to date!!! I don't know how Katie makes 3 loaves at a time, It took forever to do just one!! I just hope the layers all stuck together when I cut tomorrow. It will be worth all the time if it comes out even a "little" like the way Katie's looks. Fingers crossed!!

you people who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and/or arthritis need to investigate Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos ;syndrome. Ednf.org has good info and good old Wikipedia is also a good source. Doctors don't know to diagnose it correctly and give us Fibro diagnosis because we hurt everywhere. But we have lots of other problems- stomach issues, arthritis, headaches, neck, back pain, allergy issues.

Katie, I am new to your channel and am really enjoying it. This week we have our 8 grandchildren, between the ages of 4 and 8, visiting. Each morning they all climb into bed with me and we have been watching you make soap. The kids are totally fascinated. They think you are fun, funny, and really smart. They love the sparkles, of course, but also all the inbeds and icing. Every morning they say the soap looks good enough to eat. They also wanted me to tell you that your daughter is very cute. BB Chrome Green pigment is my fav colour of all time! Super easy to dissolve and very versatile.
Please don’t use mica, it is often mined by children from as young as 5. There are whole unregistered mica mines that mine using children and sell under other mines names. If you need more info then please watch refinery 29’s video. This is not hate at all, just a friendly heads up~💜🌺
Hey there! Great point! Luckily, nurture soaps is very careful about ethically sourcing their micas. They trace it back as far as they can to ensure there is no slave or child labor used.
GIRLPOWER ALWAYS *-* While child labor is not desirable, boycotting these companies is not going to fix the issue. It actually significantly worsens the problem. These kids NEED money to help their families survive. If you boycott these companies, it's not going to lead to child labor being banned, better wages, or better hours. It's going to lead to a significant number of these people being fired which means their families are going to starve due to lack of funds. Rather than boycotting these companies, we need to find an effective way to get them to improve wages and hours to the point that child labor won't be needed.

Not sure if I totally missed it, but what was the name of the fragrance oil that was used? As a beginner it sounds like a fragrance oil I need to stay away from.

Usually that's because it's a custom mix.

The gold soap curls looked like macaroni, and I was totally expecting you to have a sensible reason for why you were putting gold noodles into an ocean themed soap. Your soaps are always intricate and use clever ideas to achieve complicated designs.

Squee!!!! Happy New Year Katie!!! I have a question. I want to start making soap, not to sell. I want to make things as gifts vs. having to wrack my brains over trying to purchase junk every Christmas just to feel like I’m pressured into gift giving.
Your soaps are absolutely beautiful and I know it would take years to master the artistry you produce.
My question is, if I were to make these as gifts how do you feel about people duplicating your creations not for profit?
I just feel like if I don’t do it with your exact measurements or colors I’ll end up ruining batches and wasting money. I’ve heard you explain in previous videos how certain fragrance oils and certain colors react different.

I always just think of the cleanup. It sounds so satisfying to just rinse off the soap and you’re done.
Yasmín Angelie clean up is really terrible. You have to wear gloves because it can burn you, and you need a powerful degreasing liquid soap to get everything off. Or, you can wait for 24 hours until the lye is gone, but then its hardened up and its a pain to get off. It can also build up and clog your pipes. It's amazing how messy soap making really is.
Yasmín Angelie clean up is not that easy but also not as bad as the other comments. I have my sink filled with Dawn (cuts the oils) water, and vinegar. I have to wear gloves because the lye is still active and it WILL burn. I wash all items used in that, then rinse in hot water and then run everything through the dishwasher. Yes it takes some time, you can't just "rinse".
