Hello. I believe the origin of your avatar is King Alfred's statue in Winchester High Street, which is within a few miles of me, so this caught my eye. Now, apropos your point... rather curtly expressed, I thought - the chap is making a good point, which will help many people. And I think he is urging us to intellectually determine how many shots we do want / need - which is no bad thing, surely? When I am bogged-down in photographs - as I am at present - this is a short break from sorting to try to prevent me from going insane (rather late, I fear), I think he is 100% right. However... I bracket (-1/1/+1) all my photographs, so that multiplies the number I would, otherwise, shoot by three anyway. Atop that, I regularly (Spring-Autumn) shoot 5,000-10,000 photographs monthly (x3 = 15,000-30,000) all in disc-consuming RAW format: ie each original photograph is about 30MB x 3 = 90MB and I think he's even more spot-on. My camera is supposed to have a life of 100,000-130,000 shutter-actuations - but I am many times over that, so a big call-out for my Canon APC-DSLR So, again, he's right. Ultimately, however, you are right, too - we take as many as we deem necessary - then again, we can all learn to mend our ways! Cheers.
Haha, well, after much deliberation the high judge of the supreme photo court has passed judgment. Much to the annoyance of the chief constable of HM Photo Police, the judge has decided, that as long as you send postcards to loved ones from the editing room, you may indeed, re-mortgage the house and buy even bigger memory cards, fill your boot my friend, you have free reign to keep your finger on the shutter button and strip that shutter of its paint.
