Same situation. After several failed attempts came here as the head would not snap in place. Had no idea it literally needed that much force to press it in. Not a fan of this particular clearance issue.
I got stuck there too.. just when I think included directions couldn't get any worse, I get this figure and you. Can't even get past step 12 no matter how hard you try. Earth rise is still a far superior figure imo..
I so very much want to sit down with the transformed cab, a roll of masking tape, an exacto knife and straight edge, and a silver chrome paint pen so I can make the thing toy-accurate rather than screen-accurate.

You know I don't have a lot of Transformers toys. So far the ones I own are easy to Transform and I use the instructions once and immediately have it memorized. This however is the most complicated Transformer I ever had, the instructions were even too complex for me. I have to say thanks for this video.
That double hinge on the back made me think I messed up his transformation because it wouldn’t latch!!! Thank you Emgo!!! Here I thought I broke him😭😭😭😭!!!!
Transformation is smart, but will take some practice as there are a couple of really easy to miss hidden tabs. Definitely prefer the straight forward simplicity of the Earthrise in comparison.
People say that this toy is MP44 but it has almost no DNA in common with that design. This toy is actually the joint descendant of Classics '06 Optimus and Studio Series Bee Movie Optimus.
@@S0larisPrime Pretty sure the comparison to MP44 comes from how seemingly more complex this figure is compared to other retail grade Optimus Primes, the engineering of which many people seem to consider on par with Masterpiece already. Also, screen accuracy.
@@Darkkrebs The way parts of the flanks of the cab go into the legs is from MP44, the main difference is that MP44 does it with the entire flank to make way for the voice gimmick while SS86 just puts most of the flanks of the cab in the backpack.
I got as far as folding the head away to realise mine was defective. No matter how hard I try it just will not sit flush, the plastic starts flexing if I push too hard 😐
I truly wish that Transformers figures looked like this in the 80's when I was a kid. The only I don't like from this figure and the masterpiece figure is the two grills.
@@ChucktheAnimator I'm guessing the lad really likes the Evangelion and LeBron variants of MP-10, and wants to see this mold painted in those colors too.
I need 1 of these so very much but hasbro doesn’t seem to want my money it’s like they want me to get scalped .but I’ll wait to my Chinese friends sort me out and get me one

Personally if they combined the lower half of this Optimus Prime and the upper half of MP44 Optimus Prime, then we have a deal. Until then, I'll stick with my Reactivate Optimus Prime

I just fixed it. You have to file the bottom part of the "rectangle" that fits with the backpack, since at least in my copy it had excess plastic
