I've don that before at 0:28 after killing myself from drinking the wrong Potion in that level between level 1 and 2 where you have to drink the right potion to open the door to advance to level 2 I hated that.
i want to do 3 things but it just don't work. not everything i mean, is showed here in the video. 1) when i face a stronger guard at near distance and i do the first step, he always hits me even when i press the up button to block at the same time. but it's possible to hit him first all the time with just blocking first because i saw this a lot of times by others and for them it worked but never for me. but what else can i do except of press forward and up at the same time? 2) there is also a trick to go by guards, with your own sword out but without fighting. in videos they were going some steps closer and then they just could go by him with a twist and then they were pass by him without taking a hit and could go further. how does that work? 3) when you throw down a plate and duck at the right time, the plate can't hurt you even when it's hits you. sometimes it works for me but most times not. when excactly must i press down, to get not hurt? in the middle, at the end? when somebody could help me this, i would be very thankful!
1) I try to use the trick in number 2, but if that fails and the guard keeps hitting me I try to adopt a more defensive strategy, stand still and block until he comes to me if the aggressive or pacifist strategy isn't working, this works with all the guards except the one at the beginning of level 8. With the exception of a couple of guards who are useful to kill in particular places. 2) Is fairly simple. You just need to move towards the guard and if he doesn't hit you you'll swap sides with him, then strike and either get 2 deflections or a hit and there will be space for you to safely put your sword away and run (or with the skeleton, just keep moving right so you fall and hold onto the edge). Some guards it seems to be easier to do it to than others, also it seems to work easier the earlier it is into the fight, although both of those might be in my imagination. Also think about the space you'll need after the guard to do anything next when you think about whether it's worth trying. I find the annoying guard at the start of level 8 who never advances towards you especially is much easier to bypass this way than he is to fight, you just have to time your run right. If you stop running and start fighting at the exact moment (it's worth taking a game to the beginning of level 8 to practice the timing for this specific step if you want to optimize your runs) you can go passed him fairly easily with this technique, although you do have you jump across the spike pit fairly quickly afterwards, so consider the space you need. And like I said, it's worth practising to familiarize yourself with the technique, the guard at the beginning of level 2 is a good one to practice with because of his location relative to the start of the level. 3) Is a matter of timing. I think if you're moving downwards as the floor panels are falling they won't cause you any damage, but it's not a strategy I use so I'm not too familiar with it. Hope this helps!
@@iremsanl8497 move towards the guard, just using the left or right key, preferably as close to the start of the fight as possible (preferably after you draw) and you'll switch places with them. It really is that simple! I guess just practice getting the timing. I've found it's the fastest way to get past the guard at the start of level 8 certainly. Maybe I'll make a video.

Never worked for me for some reason, he would always kill me with one single hit. There was no way to bypass a guard without fighting him.

You know there's a faster way to get past the guard on level 1, you just need to time the jump and you can get past him!
That only works on some versions. That version you can jump over most guards on most levels
