Hey guys and gals, I'm super happy at how many of you have watched this video so far. Thank you so much. I've been scanning through the comments and replying to as many of them as I can but I wanted to keyin a couple points so that I can address some of the concerns that were being fielded in other comments below...
Firstly, and most importantly...I was not sponsored by Recraft to do this video. They didn't even know that I was creating one. I discovered Recraft a number of weeks ago and simply fell in love with this platform and thought why not share it with all of you in case you were unaware of it and the improvements that have been occurring on this platform. In terms of whether or not you use it , it is simply up to you. It is another tool for your design arsenal and it makes no sense hiding our heads in the sand and saying nope there are other platforms that I've gotten use to using. Don't do that. It makes no sense. Be open to the possibility of using as many platforms as you can to make your job easier and get more designs out to your paying public. These platforms will continue to improve and get better...you need to keep up with them after all, you do like making sales, don't you? So use the tools that are available.
Secondly, I read some comments saying that Ideogram, Dalli, and other platforms out there can do this or are better. If that is the case, good! Use all of them plus Recraft.
If there is one thing I've come to learn about these image generators out there is that on one day they're my best friend and give me some amazing images and on other days I wonder if the platform is understanding my prompt which is frustrating, and this has happened frequently...but...having different platforms at my disposal helps to negate frustrating experiences achieved on one particular day with one particular platform and that includes Dalli, Ideogram and even Placeit...but hey, that's the reality of these platforms...no big deal. If one doesn't work for me, I use another. I cannot understand this romance people have with just one platform....what happens if you wake up one morning and the platform you love and won't change for anything, suddenly goes down and stops working? Hmmm...
Let's make no mistake, I still love and use Placeit it's a great platform but I'm happy to now have Recraft to use when I cannot find what I need on Placeit. Guys, it's all about convenience and accessibility.
So feel free to comment. Your views and opinions are respected and appreciated but take this video for what it was intended to do...to inform you all about it and allow you the opportunity to give it a try yourself and see how it will work for you....that's it...nothing more.
I wish you all every success with your POD business. :-)
Absolutely! I also feel that changing up what tools I am using forces me to be more creative in a way. I have to learn the tools and see what they can do for me, I love it!
Omg, this is so exciting!!! Can't believe it's for real!
Yes, believe it. AI is getting smarter and with the increase in abilities, it opens up many doors for us designers at a better price. Enjoy!
Amazing! Thank you!!! I just did it for an oversized BC 3001 charcoal heather t-shirt, I entered the hex code and it came out perfect!
Wonderful! Very glad to hear it. 👍👍❤️
Excellent, thank you

Great video Brian. This tool has been sorely needed for quite some time now. It's great to learn about it. Will definitely give it a try.
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes this tech was sorely needed. Enjoy using it. 🤗💯❤️

wowowowowo.. I just landed on your video.... AMAZING ..You got a new sub from me!!
Thanks for subbing. Welcome to the channel. ❤️👍
Recraft is killing it in options, ease of use and most importantly - results.
Absolutely. It's a great platform.
Thanks👍🌺🐞
You are so welcome!
Thank you for touching on the fact that a lot of mockups being used do not look like the garment actually being produced!! I hate seeing mockups of big baggy hoodies knowing that’s not what the received garment will look like!! I love that you tried to get your mockups to look like the actual blank you will be printing with!
Hey Heather, thanks for your comment and for watching. I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope Recraft will help you to create mockups that will showcase your art and eventually make you more sales. ❤️💯
Wow! Thank you! I am new to POD and haven’t been posting many products because I want to do things other than just shirts. So I am excited to try this and see if it works for the tumblers matching lids etc. I was so disappointed doing Placeit and not finding what I was looking for and I don’t like using the generic ones from Printify & I can’t afford to buy a new set of mock-ups for every product I want to try out. Fingers crossed! 🤞 thank you! ❤
Glad it was helpful!. Enjoy using it. Let me know how you fare with the tumblers. ❤️
@@BrianAbelaYT I haven’t experimented with clothing but it hates tumblers and other items that have specific details as much as PlaceIt does. I tried putting in the item name like different skinny tumbler matte or other kinds and it continually gives me a metal lid. That’s the reason I hated PlaceIt. Even when I described the features or used exclude this part it always missed the mark. I guess that is why PlaceIt doesn’t have accurate mock-ups. Was there a way I can add a picture to show it what I want or is that just for designs?
It was only a matter of time before a site combined mockups and AI to provide such useful features you've covered in this video and the technology will only get broader and better in quality. However one HUGE issue with Recraft is the cost. Most people creating mockups are using them for commercial purposes and at the time of this video, the mockups created on the "free" usage plan is property of Recraft and on public display/visibility and even usage. Only with the $25/month plan or $20/month for the year subscription is the generated mockup private and personally owned. Unless your sales can justify this, $20-25/month is very expensive even for a great graphics application.
A fair and valid point. However, there are a number of designers out there who do not want to create mockups to resell but to create mockups with their design to showcase and promote on social media. This is were Recraft can really help that demographic of designers. :-)
Yeah the fact they are public for ANYONE to use makes it worthless to me, I'm already paying for other better AI generators. Maybe if they lower their subscription it could be an option
Thank you for introducing this application, so helpful and interesting that is free. Thanks for sharing!
You are very welcome. Enjoy using it. 👍❤️
AMAZING APP... Id been pulling my hair out with lots of AI generators to do what this does in seconds, THANK YOU so much for showing me this and also the Recraft team you have done an AMAZING job on your app. Now next wish is to pull my own generated images into the app to use for mockups and it will be perfect.
Super happy that you found value in this video and that you've finally found the app you've been looking for. Enjoy working with it. ❤❤❤❤
thanks for the headsup
Very welcome!
@@BrianAbelaYT very helpful
❤❤❤
Wow!! Thank you for this exciting video, easy to follow even for newbies!! Such a time saver!
Glad it was helpful! Welcome to the channel. Enjoy the rest of the videos. :-)
looks interesting!
Give it a try and see how well it works for you. 👍❤
great info! I have encountered frustration like you, couldn't find the mockup i wanted. ..
Glad I could help! Enjoy creating your own mockups with your own designs. ❤️❤️
Neat.. definitely tired of Placeit.. they put out a lot of new things but generally not suitable. I need normal basic pics.. not vampires and weirdness. Am I the only one? 😂 Thank you 🙏🏼
Indeed, the choice and selection of photos that Place it has been offering has left me a little dumbfounded as well. Good thing we have Recraft now. 👍
what about patterns for all over prints? Do they have a tiling options?
Yes they do. I believe I have a video about that too. Check out the playlist for Recraft. ❤️👍❤️
This is awesome, thanks! Any way to get these mockups placed in Printify pop up shop or are we limited to the vendor or Placeit inages?
How do you get it to remove the background? I have png images that are circular designs with no background saved in the image, but when I drag it only a black mockup shirt, it ignores the transparency setting and puts a white box behind the design.
When you drag your image into Recraft, there is a scissors icon at the top of the page. Toggle your image and then click on the scissors icon to remove the background. Let me know how you fare. Thanks for watching. 👍
This is so amazing. Thanks for the video! Do you know if there's any way to change the opacity of the design? Sometimes it feels like it's not in the same lighting as the mockup.
As far as I know you can't adjust the opacity in Recraft...for the moment, however...if you think that your design is too harsh for a generated mockup, why not reduce the opacity in which ever platform you used to create your design. I know that is definitely possible in Photoshop, Photopea and even Canva. Hope that helps. :-)
@@BrianAbelaYT Good idea, thank you!
❤️❤️🤗
I had no idea who Recraft was until I found your video Brian. Thank you for sharing the wealth. Appreciate you. #newsub #recraft #thebeyoushow🤯
Welcome aboard! I'm glad this video was able to give you a new insight into this platform...now create something amazing with it for your business. ❤️👍💯
👍🏻
Glad you liked the video. Great some amazing mockups with your designs using Recraft!
🔝
👍👍❤️
So awesome! Just curious how you place an all over tee design without it spilling on the models skin?
Good question! For the moment I think that aspect is trial and error. What you could do is create a mockup where the short is floating, for example...a floating white t-shirt on a solid red background... And then overlay your all over design on it as there won't be any model in the image. Give that a try and see how it goes. 👍
@@BrianAbelaYT yeah but the platform really should fix this, no one wants their designs spilling onto models skins etc 🤞🏻
Absolutely. No arguement from me there. ❤️🤗
Hey, do u know if it will create mockups that have several products in the same mockup? For example, if I have a tote, matching blanket, matching tumbler...could I put all three products in the pic?
I don't see why it shouldn't. You might have to play with the prompt a little until you get exactly what you need, but, yeah, it should be possible. Give it a try. 👍
I’m really hoping this works for tumblers and sports bottle mockups
No reason why it shouldn't. Give it a try and enjoy then process of creating.
Wow, a new tool I had not heard about! Great video. Question, will Recraft work for book mockups? I also publish books on Amazon KDP and am always looking to make my author page look exciting with new mockups showing the insides of the pages.
Hey Jenn, thanks for your comment and question. The short answer is yes, it should work well for book mockups. Just formulate an appropriate text prompt and have fun creating your book mockups. Enjoy using it!
Great video! This could be a game changer. Are our generated mockups visible (and downloadable) for everyone on the platform to see? Similar like midjourney does it for example. (And a lot of others)
Thanks, for your comment. If you use the free version of Recraft, there is the possibility of your generated images appearing in the community feed, so yes, you need to be aware of this, but truth be told, I wouldn't worry about it.
I've done this in Dalle and Leonardo.
How did you import the image? I have been creating mockups with those two for awhile, but I use Photoshop to put the image on so it follows the curves of the clothing.
@@hjomnp09mgh I use Gimp.
Fair enough, but if you were to use Recraft, you can do that all 'in-house' I'm not suggesting that you forego using Gimp, but if I were in your shoes, I'd start to incorporate using Recraft in your digital design toolbox as well....you never know. :-)
@@BrianAbelaYT Yes, for sure. I haven't tried the mockup feature yet but I will be soon.
@@BrianAbelaYT yes I think Recraft is awesome, I was asking because the comment was that they have been doing the same thing in those two AI programs, and I wanted to know how, because unlike Recraft where you can upload your design to place on the mockup.
Well... this is something. I was totally expecting to see that the T-shirts would be generic and iffy to use on Etsy. Hopefully it will always be representative of the product wanted.
Thanks for your comment. A few weeks ago the mockups were 'iffy' but the platform has come a long way in a few short weeks and it's only going to get better. Keep an eye on this platform it's an amazing tool to have in your design arsenal. 👍
Is there any site that can make short vid mockups for hoodies and shirts!???
You can do slide show videos with Canva or short motion vids with Leonardo.
Have you tried this with designs that are not shirts? Mugs, blankets, candles, etc ?
Yes I have and it works just as well. Give it a try. 👍
I have a download problem. It says, 'Oops, something went wrong.' Can you help me fix this?
That happened to me once as well but it was an issue with my connection not with the platform. In that moment I shut down my PC, rebooted both my router and my PC and the problem was solved. Give that a try. ❤️👍
@@BrianAbelaYT Thank you very much for the quick response
You are very welcome. :-)
photoshop have also this feature, but I forgot how to make it
Then it's a good thing there's this platform now so you get get your mockups faster. 😁👍❤️
👍
❤❤
Pretty cool but the models still look like CGI. If you are ok making only one or two sales a month on your shop these mockups will do the trick!
Fair point, however, I've re-rolled the prompt a few times and some of the results I got back actually fooled some of my friends and family members into thinking they were real live models in the photo, so don't hold back and keep at it. It's tech in progress and can only continue to get better and better.
Hi, thanks! I tried, but I'm having trouble. It only downloads my design, not the mockup. Am I doing something wrong?🤔 Can you help me please?
Very strange. No one else has reported this issue.
@@BrianAbelaYT Hi, after much research, I fixed the problem. I asked ChatGPT, and it suggested some potential issues. One of them was the layers. Here’s what it said:
Check the Layers: Ensure that your mockup template includes all necessary layers and that your design is placed correctly within these layers. Sometimes the design layer might be placed above the mockup layer, causing the mockup to be hidden.
When I downloaded the mockups, the resolution quality of my design is not good. How can I improve it?
Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing that info with us here on the channel. Best of luck with all of your Print On Demand endeavors. :-)
I have been saying it, and I'll say it again. If you are not using AI in any form for your business you are already behind.
Absolutely!! 100% correct. Your comment was refreshing. Thanks for posting it.
What about women hair on the tee? It doesn't look like it creates a mask of hair. As a result, design covers the hair. Is it so?
Honestly, if you're inserting an all over design, you most likely will have some difficulties, but I have no doubt this can be overcome as the tech gets smarter. In the short term, create female mockups with short hair styles and you should be good to go. 💯👍❤️
Brian, you've made a similar video about this and it's not an ideal mockup. It doesn't flow properly. Take a woman with a large breast. The flat design won't adjust itself to flow on top of her breast. Placeit mockups actually do.These mockups made by recraft or any other simple text to image generator. These produce 2d mockups, while Placeit produces 3d mockups. I won't discard Placeit for just 5 or 6 bucks a month. And this doesn't work at all for all over designs. Placeit has all over mockups.
But Recraft did do what you’re saying it doesn’t. He illustrated that with the woman with the pink t-shirt… the design definitely followed the contours of her bust. I haven’t tried it yet myself but will tomorrow; if it works I’ll be beyond stoked.
Since I already pay for the entire Adobe suite of apps I was really excited when Illustrator launched their mockup generator, but it pretty much sucks. Its application abilities are really limited, at least at this stage; it will only work on vectors, not transparent PNGs. So I’ve been doing it the long way using Photoshop, with multiple steps (creating distortion maps, etc.) and it’s really tedious.
If Recraft can generate an actual B&C 3001 (or whatever I’m designing for), and for free, I’m sold! Even if I have to continue doing the placement the long way on Ps. I really wanted to try Placeit but at this point I can’t afford yet another expensive subscription, on top of Adobe (all), Canva Pro, Mid Journey, Printify Premium, etc..
I’ve spent countless hours trying to generate mockups on several different AI platforms, re-rolling over and over again to get the neckline, sleeve length, color, etc. right. And even if I get one usable mockup after all that effort, I still end up spending another few hours on Ps correcting any AI weirdness. I also bought 4 “whole shop bundles” on Etsy, but 98% of those hundreds of mockups don’t even represent the actual t-shirt (or whatever) that they advertise them as.
Sorry for the long reply! Perhaps it’s down to all my frustration with the lost time and money incurred trying to get workable mockups, and failing. And the fact that I REALLY, REALLY want you to be wrong. Because if you are maybe we can both be happy with a free and functional alternative😊 If you reply with anything, even an emoji, I’ll be sure to let you know if it is indeed limited, once I put it to the test.
@janedarc7731 Thank you. I will try it again myself. And Placeit reduced its prices to 5 bucks first month and 6 bucks afterwards. I even got an offer for 40 dollars a year. Saves a lot time comparing to recraft where you have to wiggle the design.
I tried it again. 'A woman with large breast' but recraft accused me of being a profanist. Mammograms was the solution. But after resizing, the wrinkles came through the removed background without doing anything to modify the 2d flat image. Same with the countours of the breast. If I use the same image on Placeit I can see clearly the roundings of the image where they should be. As a business owner I want the best results without being interested to save a couple of dollars for a lesser result. Especially an RUclipsr getting sponsored and 'finding' a new free way.
@@TravelPointDotOne-ku4eh wow, thanks! I’ll definitely check out Placeit again; if I can find a good sale I could probably swing it.
I completely understand wanting the best possible mockup to display your work, and even paying more to get it right. As a self proclaimed perfectionist, and someone who believes that attention to small details can end up mattering a great deal, I couldn’t agree more!…Hence the lengths I’ve gone to, and continue to go through, to get it right.
But alas, my shop is really new, my budget is stretched to the max, and the mockup process has caused a serious bottleneck; I’ve got over 50 designs that still need a worthy mockup.😫🤦♀️😂
I also read your other comment in regard to your newest test and it’s a total bummer that it still produced undesirable results. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that and report back. I’m gonna give it a try myself and will let you know how it goes… who knows, maybe it will do better on less generously endowed figures.😉🙏🤭
Thanks again for the info on Placeit, I’ll definitely take another look! I could swear that I recently looked into them and it was way more expensive; $72 for a year is not something I would’ve had trouble justifying. People speak highly of it and I really need to solve my mockup issue, fast. So🙏🙏🙏
Do some breast size reduction
I tried it and before signing up I saw that you can only use it for free for personal things and that it will publish everything you create. You don’t own it and can’t use it for POD if you don’t pay 😢
Thanks for your comment but I have to reiterate that you can use images generated from the free tier, which will end up in the community assets if Recrat deems that it wants to, for commercial purposes. Here is the excerpt from their Terms of Service:
'Recraft grants you a non-exclusive, limited, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-assignable, license to use Community Assets for your personal or commercial use.'
This should put these types of comments to bed. :-)
I don't understand how you drag your design into the mockup...sorry
Hey, no need to apologise. It's a very valid question. So all you need to do is have a PNG file of your design as per the image dimensions I had stated in the video in a folder on your PC. Now after you open Recraft and create your mockup, bring the window containing your design folder into view, left-click and hold on to the design and then drag the design into Recraft. Then let go of the mouse button and your design will be imported into Recraft. Once it has been imported simply click and drag your design into the mockup and then place and resize as I had shown in the video. Hope this clarifies, get back to me if you still have difficulties. ❤👍
@@BrianAbelaYT thanks a lot, I will try now
Best of luck ❤️🤗
place it is so mad at you
Perhaps, but that's the beauty of technology...other services and improvements come out. If I hadn't mentioned it, someone else would have so it was inevitable. Let's make no mistake, Placeit is still a good platform they just have to come to terms that they are not the only player in the mock-up game. Competition between the two is good for us. Thanks for watching. 💯❤️
Unfortunately, this is useless for Etsy listings. Much too small in resolution and AI generated mocks can get you in trouble if they don't accurately reflect the actual product.
Hey, thanks for your comment. Regarding the resolution don't forget that Recraft has an in-house upscaler which you one should always use after generating an image. In terms of getting an actual reflection of the product, well the platform has gotten better in the last few months and most likely will continue to improve. I've had success in generating images that are reflective, as you can see in the video, so I wouldn't discount this platform if I were you. 😊👍
I used it and it is poor. I used one of my images on a hoodie with a young female model. The image did not wrap on the hoodie, it went on top of the strings of the hoodie and her hair. If this is the best it can come up with, well, no point using it. Also, people can use your images you produce for themselves and for commercial projects. The only way to keep hold of your art for yourself is to pay them $20 a month! Give it a miss.
Hey, thanks for your comment. Totally respect your opinion, however I think you might be putting a nail into Recraft's coffin over just one attempt too soon. Yes, I admit that, for the moment, the platform has difficulty seperating the strings of the hoodie from the actual hoodie, but I believe that as the tech gets smarter, this will be something that can be over come. I don't think any other Image Generator can to that, but I stand to be corrected. The hair is another thing. If a bit of resizing of the design won't work then my suggestion is that you can always regenerate another mockup of a model with shorter hair. There is freedom in this platform in that you can use your creativity and imagination to create your own mockups at will and save time from searching on Placeit. I'm not saying don't use Placeit ever again, as that would be unfair, but to simply say that you won't use this tool based on this one test might have been a little too harsh....and before anyone says it...no I was not sponsored by the platform to create the video. They didn't even know I was creating the video. I discovered Recraft a number of months ago and basically fell in love with it so I thought why not share it's potential with all of you. Lastly, regarding the point about the images being utilised by other people. Yes, that could potentially happen if you don't take out a subcription, but in truth, how many people out there do you think go in and use images generated by other people that are showcased in a gallery. I'm not going to say there aren't, but the number is exteremely small and the likelihood of you actually seeing one of your generated mockups being used by others is neglibible, and then again, who would really care? I hardly remember any social media posts that I saw yesterday and I don't believe anyone out there would say 'oh wow, I saw this mockup being used by someone else on their social media board' There's more a likelihood of that happening with a Placeit mockup. At the end of it all, my channel is there to showcase what I find, what I find useful and helpful not only for me but for all of you. Whether or not you take what I showcase and use it is totally up to you. That's the beauty of free will. I wish you loads of success with your endeavors. :-)
honestly, it doesnt work very well. just generate blank mockups in any ai image generator and learn to use photoshop.
So after watching the video you say that it doesn't work well. Hmmm. Well create your mockups the way you prefer, it's a free world. I'll keep using Recraft. 👍
@@BrianAbelaYT I did try it after watching the video. Trying a few different products and it was terrible.
This is too much trouble. You have to jump through too many hoops. Placeit is too easy.
Hmmm...are we talking about the same platform 😄 hey if you prefer to use Placeit, go for it, it's your choice. You do you. All the best with your online business. 👍❤️
Please stop calling a web app 'free'.. web apps are not free by definition.
Hmmm. If I don't have to pay a subscription for a service, in my mind, it's free from the user's perspective.
Wow! Amazing. I cancelled placeit months ago. It's mostly ruined, infected by woke garbage.
Thanks for your comment. Now you have a viable alternative to use for your mockups. Enjoy.
Woke garbage? What the hell does that even mean?
@@hollyjustice9858 Pretty sure it was all the brown guys that freaked this little snowflake out 😂
This might be a dumb question, but how come when you typed in young male in a white T-shirt in the park it automatically knew to put in this Liam Hemsworth looking guy, 🤔🫥 but I guess you have to specify that young males can also be of color 🥴 yikes
Hey thanks for your comment. As with many image generators the more info you give it in the prompt the better result you will receive. More often than not I insert the nationality or skin tone of the model that I want. Give it a try and see what happens. You'll be pleasantly surprised. 👍❤️
